  • The purpose of the current study was to validate Fetzer Institute & National Institute on Aging Working Group[NIA](1999)'s Brief-Multidimensional Measure of Religiousness/Spirituality Scale (BMMRS) in Korean adults. The Korean version of BMMRS, Spiritual Well-Being Scale(SWS), Korean Sprituality Scale(KSS), Penn State Worry Questionnaire(PSWQ), and Intolerance of uncertainty Scale(IUS) were administered to the 286 students and community samples. A principle axis factoring analysis with direct oblimin rotation and Kaiser normalization identified a six-factor solution accounting for 66.24% of the variance in scores, labeled as: positive spiritual experience, negative spiritual experience, forgiveness, religious practices, negative congregational support, and positive congregational support. Confirmatory factor analysis results showed that 6 factor model of BMMRS have a good fitness. Also, the internal consistency(.64~.97) and the test-retest reliablity was adequate.(.72~.88) Korean version of BMMRS has adequate psychometric characteristics so it can be used to verify the effects of various compassion-related psychotherapeutic approaches.

To achieve the purpose of this study, the research target areas were selected as Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines, which have relatively many tourists visiting Korea among Southeast Asian countries and are well known for their religious characteristics. GDP and nominal exchange rate, which are economic factors, were selected as explanatory variables. And religious diversity was selected as a characteristic factor variable of the tourism demand model based on the characteristic theory. An empirical analysis was conducted through a gravity model. • This study tried to establish a system of service paradigm by re-examining the Korean play culture through the people who play in the era of King Jeongjo and revealing the integration of modern service culture. The results of this study are as follows. First, King Jeongjo inspired the autonomy and creativity of the participants through the patronage of Changdeokgung Palace and led the renaissance era of Joseon as a creative play. The creative play of the service industry is reborn as a place of innovation that realizes development through a communicative intellectual network. Second, the 60th birthday Jin Chan-yeon and the aesthetics of slowness that evoke artistic play are the language of innovation that transcends language and culture. Artistic play becomes a channel of communication to share happiness with people around the world based on absolute beauty and aesthetic sensibility. Third, Jeongjo was a humanist in Joseon. This humanistic ideology leads to humanistic religion. K-service, which uses religious play as a medium, has a turning point towards healing and happiness as all participants in the service experience sacredness. There is an implication in that it pioneered a service culture by presenting a new paradigm by combining play and service, and laid the groundwork for building a unique area in global business.

  • The key objective of terrorism is to create favorable conditions for certain political, ideological, or religious interests through deliberate social chaos and the spread of fear. Accordingly, terrorist groups rally the means and methods capable of spreading fear among the public through shocking violence. Consequently, as terrorism manifests the progress in modern civilization and the structure of international community, its concepts, means, and methods evolve organically with the progress. The characteristics of the modern terrorism include that it has evolved as a means of war against countries by non-state militant groups, and suicide terrorism is spreading like epidemic as it fits the strategies of Islamic extremist and terrorist organizations as a part of international politics based on terrorism. The humanity's efforts to eliminate the threat of terrorism led to decades of implementing premature policies of military force, but they were found ineffective and resulted in the spread of extreme threat of suicide terrorism. For prevention of suicide terrorism, the efforts must be made to dismantle the basis of suicide attacks through addressing religious alienation and antipathy against a civilization using the notions similar to treatment of pathology considering psychological motives of suicide terrorists.

  • The day of the Dead, so called as 'El día de los muertos' in Mexico is the traditional festival of the mexicans. There is no doubt that the origin of the festival traces back to the times of the people of Azteca before the Invasion of the spanish soldiers into the land of the soldiers of Teotihuacán. The festival rituals of the Azteca are the same as the catholic rituals in converging the actual characteristics and the cultural structure of the Festival. Therefore the hybridity of the Festival has been considered as high value worthy to be conserved and named as a world cultural heritage by the UNESCO. This investigation has been realized through the survey of questionnaire to get some practical informations and data on how the mexicans think of the Festival and enjoy it according to the diversity of the believes, sexes, locations, ages, etc. We could reveal that the absolute majority of the mexicans consider the Festival as very positive. Even though the sexes, educations, ages can't be elements to make the differences in conforming the common think of the day of the Dead, believes and locations where the people do live are the most sensitive elements that influence upon the ways of thinking. The protestants think negatively while the catholics do reflect the average opinion of the mexicans who consider the Festival as a good and positive tradition. The people of the city participate less than the people of the provinces. Conclusively the day of the Dead can be considered as a national symbol of the people of Mexico.
