Penetration of Some Humectants into Shark Muscle (상어육(肉)중의 수분유지제(水分維持劑) 침투(浸透))

  • Estimation of the penetration rate of humectants has been considered to be important in effective control of food processing when intermediate moisture food is manufactured by the moist-infusion method. In this study, when shark (Isurus glaucus) muscle was soaked in four common humectants (sucrose, sorbitol, glycerol, and propylene glycol), the equation of their penetration rate was drawn as a function of time using high performance liquid chromatography analysis. Penetration rates increased with soaking temperatures and decreased inversely with molecular weights of humectants. The penetrated amounts for 10% humectant solution reached about equilibrium after soaking for 10 hours and for 30% humectant after soaking for about 7 hours. In consideration with the penetration rate of the sample soaked in 10% humectant and complex solution of each 10% humectant, little difference was found between them. When the sample was soaked in 10% humectant and 30% humectant, it seemed to be able to apply the following regression equation to estimate the penetrated amounts: M = a log (c.t)+ b where M = penetrated amounts; c = concentration of humectant; t= soaking time; a, b = constant and c.t should be within $10^3\;-\;4{\times}10^4$.

  • This study was aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of hydrophilic, lipophilic antioxidants and emulsifiers by HLB (hydrophilic lipophilic balance) in different oil systems. Lipophilic antioxidant (${\delta}-tocopherol$), hydrophilic antioxidant (gallic acid) and emulsifier(lecithin, tween 20, span 60) were evaluated in relation to oil stability in bulk oil system (soybean oil) and emulsified with Tween 80 at $60^{\circ}C$. In the storage test ($60^{\circ}C$), gallic acid was more effective on the stability of oil oxidation than ${\delta}-tocopherol$ in bulk and emulsion system. Lecithin as a hydrophilic emulsifier was more effective than tween 20 on the stability of oil oxidation in bulk and emulsion system. Also span 60, a lipophilic emulsifier, was more effective than tween 20, a hydrophilic emulsifier, in bulk and emulsion systems.

3-D Finite element stress analysis in screw-type, cement-type, and combined-type implant fixed partial denture designs (임플란트 상부보철물의 유지형태에 따른 3차원 유한요소 응력분석)

  • Statement of problems: Stress analysis on implant components of the combined screw- and cement-retained implant prosthesis has not investigated yet. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to assess the load distribution characteristics of implant prostheses with the different prosthodontic retention types, such as cement-type, screw-type and combined type by using 3-dimensional finite element analysis. Material and methods: A 3-dimensional finite element model was created in which two SS II implants (Osstem Co. Ltd.) were placed in the areas of the first premolar and the first molar in the mandible, and three-unit fixed partial dentures with four different retention types were fabricated on the two SS II implants. Model 1 was a cement-retained implant restoration made on two cement-retained type abutments (Comocta abutment; Osstem Co. Ltd.), and Model 2 was a screw-retained implant restoration made on the screw-retained type abutments (Octa abutment; Osstem Co. Ltd.). Model 3 was a combined type implant restoration made on the cement-retained type abutment (Comocta abutment) for the first molar and the screw-retained type abutment (Octa abutment) for the first premolar. Lastly, Model 4 was a combined type implant restoration made on the screw-retained type abutment (Octa abutment) for the first molar and the cement-retained type abutment (Comocta abutment) for the first premolar. Average masticatory force was applied on the central fossa in a vertical direction, and on the buccal cusp in a vertical and oblique direction for each model. Von-Mises stress patterns on alveolar bone, implant body, abutment, abutment screw, and prosthetic screw around implant prostheses were evaluated through 3-dimensional finite element analysis. Results: Model 2 showed the lowest von Mises stress. In all models, the von Mises stress distribution of cortical bone, cancellous bone and implant body showed the similar pattern. Regardless of loading conditions and type of abutment system, the stress of bone was concentrated on the cortical bone. The von-Mises stress on abutment, abutment screw, and prosthetic screw showed the lower values for the screw-retained type abutment than for the cement-retained type abutment regardless of the model type. There was little reciprocal effect of the abutment system between the molar and the premolar position. For all models, buccal cusp oblique loading caused the largest stress, followed by buccal cusp vertical loading and center vertical loading. Conclusion: Within the limitation of the FEA study, the combined type implant prosthesis did not demonstrate more stress around implant components than the cement type implant prosthesis. Under the assumption of ideal passive fit, the screw-type implant prosthesis showed the east stress around implant components.

매실의 다양한 이용을 위한 가공 저장 및 포장방법

  • 매실을 다양하게 이용하고 부가가치를 높이며 매실의 품질저하 방지 및 이용성 증대를 도모하기 위하여 실시된 지금까지의 매실의 가공, 저장 및 포장 방법에 대한 것을 조사하였다. 매실의 저온저장 시청매실은 $0\~1^{\circ}C$의 저온보다도 $5\~8^{\circ}C$에서 저온 장해가 발생하기가 쉽다고 보고되었다. 이러한 장해를 방지하기 위하여 수확직후에 $0^{\circ}C$정도의 냉수로 급속히 청매실의 품온을 저하시키면 $5\~8^{\circ}C$의 저장에서도 저온장해가 경감되고 추숙도 억제한다고 한다. 상온 CA저장 조건 하에서 청매실의 선도를 유지하기 하는데 대량으로 발생하는 에틸렌의 제거와 저산소($2\%$ 하한), 고이산화탄소($8\%$)의 가스조성이 효과적이라고 보고되었다. 청매실의 저장 중 선도유지를 위하여 청매실을 저밀도폴리에틸렌(LDPE 20${\mu}m$) 필름 봉투에 포장하여 에틸렌 제거제를 넣고 $20^{\circ}C$에 저장한 결과, 에틸렌생성량은 낮은 수준으로 유지되었고 연화에 의한 품질저하가 현저히 억제된는 것을 볼 수 있다. 그리고 MA포장(LDPE 30${\mu}m+$에틸렌제거제)에서도 청매실의 녹색유지 효과가 탁월하였고 이산화탄소 농도가 높을수록 황화가 억제된 것이 연구에 의하여 밝혀졌다. 포장재의 두께를 달리할 때 청매실의 선도유지 효과도 서로 다르게 나타난다고 보고되었다. 청매실을 두께가 다른 필름에 포장, $25^{\circ}C$에서 8일간 저장한 매실은 LDPE 20, 30 필름에 포장한 것이 저장 8일에도 녹색을 그대로 유지한 것을 보아 선도유지 효과가 있음을 알 수 있다. 그리고 중량감소은 LDPE 30, 40이 적게 나타났고 장해정도는 LDPE 20, 30 적게 나타났다. 청매실의 저장 중 선도유지가 가장 양호한 LDPE 30 포장재에 청매실과 함께 탄산가스흡수제, 에틸렌제거제를 각각 또는 혼합첨가하고 밀봉한 후 $25^{\circ}C$에서 10일간 저장한 매실은 에틸렌제거제 첨가한 것이 녹색유지효과와 선도유지효과가 좋았으며 매실의 장해발생도 가장 낮은 것으로 보고되었다. 매실을 이용하여 제조되는 가공식품으로는 매실주, 매실차, 매실 Fruit leather, 매실절임, 고추장장아찌, 매실식초, 매실잼, 매실김치 등이 있다. 앞으로 매실의 이용을 증진시키고 소비를 더욱 촉진시키기 위해서는 매실의 생리학적특성을 이해하여 더욱 효과적인 저장 및 포장방법을 개발하고 생리활성을 이용한 새로운 매실제품의 개발에 대한 연구가 뒤따라야 할 것이다.

  • KSLV-I 추진기관 기체공급계는 상부의 산화제 탱크로부터 나온 산화제 주배관이 하부의 연료탱크를 관통하여 엔진공급계로 이어지도록 구성되어 있다. 연료탱크에는 산화제 배관의 관통을 위한 tunnel이 구성되어 있으며 배관과 tunnel은 일정한 간격을 유지하게 된다. 배관과 연료탱크 사이의 열전달을 줄이기 위하여 산화제 배관에 단열재를 적용할 수 있으나, 이 경우 배관의 운송, 조립시에 handling이 힘들게 되고, 특히 발사체에 조립된 후에 발생하는 단열재의 파손 및 성능감소에 대한 유지보수가 불가능하다. (중략)

The Effects of Crosslinking Agent and pH Controlling Agent on Adhesive Properties of Water Soluble Acrylic PSA (가교제 및 pH 조절제가 수용성 아크릴 점착제의 점착 물성에 미치는 효과)

  • In this paper, the effects of crosslinking agent and pH controlling agent on adhesive properties and water solubility of water soluble acrylic pressure sensitive adhesives were studied by adding the crosslinking agents or pH controlling agents after the polymerization. the tack, cohesive strength, and peel strength were measured to evaluate adhesive properties. the turbidity was also measured to evaluate water solubility of pressure sensitive adhesives. When crosslinking agent was added less than 0.2 wt%, tack increased and cohesive strength and peel strength decreased with increasing concentration. When crossinking agent was added more than 0.2 wt%, the results were opposited. When pH controlling agent was added, tack and water solubility decreased and peel strength and cohesive strength increased with increasing concentration. the influence of pH controlling agents on adhesive properties and water solubility of pressure sensitive adhesive increased in the order of lithium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide and sodium hydroxide.

  • In this study, acrylic rubber pressure sensitive adhesives was polymerized with 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, styrene, butadiene, 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate, and acrylic acid by controlling the initiator content. The initial tackiness, peel strength, holding power, and heat resistance of the PSAs were investigated by changing the content of tackifier and curing agent. The results showed that the initial tackiness and peel strength increased as the content of tackifier increased, whereas the holding power decreased. Also, the results exhibited that that the initial tackiness, peel strength, and heat resistance decreased as the content of curing agent increased, whereas the holding power and decreased.

  • 타월은 소비자가 구매할 때 촉감을 중요시하므로 염색 후 가공 시 유연제를 사용한다. 그러나 반복 세탁 후에는 유연가공제의 탈착으로 초기의 유연성을 잃게 되고, 유연성 유지를 위해 후 가공시 유연제를 다량 사용할 경우 타월의 흡수성을 감소시키게 된다. 유연제는 이온성 별로 다양한 종류가 시판되고 있으나, 수중에서 음으로 하전된 면섬유와 이온결합이 가능한 양이온성 유연제가 가장 많이 사용되고 있다. 양이온성 유연제는 4급 암모늄 화합물로 항균효과도 부수적으로 타월에 부여한다. 본 연구에서는 반응성기를 도입한 양이온성 유연제를 합성하여 시판 유연제와 사용량에 따른 유연효과, 내세탁성을 비교하였으며, 또한 염색 후 유연가공한 타월의 색상변화도 조사하였다. 합성한 양이온성 유연제는 친수성의 특성도 유지하면서, 5회 세척 후에도 개선된 유연효과를 나타내었다.
