A Design and Analysis of Pressure Predictive Model for Oscillating Water Column Wave Energy Converters Based on Machine Learning (진동수주 파력발전장치를 위한 머신러닝 기반 압력 예측모델 설계 및 분석)

  • The Korea Nowadays, which is research on digital twin technology for efficient operation in various industrial/manufacturing sites, is being actively conducted, and gradual depletion of fossil fuels and environmental pollution issues require new renewable/eco-friendly power generation methods, such as wave power plants. In wave power generation, however, which generates electricity from the energy of waves, it is very important to understand and predict the amount of power generation and operational efficiency factors, such as breakdown, because these are closely related by wave energy with high variability. Therefore, it is necessary to derive a meaningful correlation between highly volatile data, such as wave height data and sensor data in an oscillating water column (OWC) chamber. Secondly, the methodological study, which can predict the desired information, should be conducted by learning the prediction situation with the extracted data based on the derived correlation. This study designed a workflow-based training model using a machine learning framework to predict the pressure of the OWC. In addition, the validity of the pressure prediction analysis was verified through a verification and evaluation dataset using an IoT sensor data to enable smart operation and maintenance with the digital twin of the wave generation system.

  • 한국전력산업의 탈규제화의 영향으로 각 개별 발전회사들은 자사의 이익을 최대화하기 위한발전계획 수립에 큰 관심을 가지게 되었다. 발전계획은 주어진 연료제약 하에 발전수익과 유지보수비용을 고려하여 시간대별 발전기의 기동, 정지 및 발전출력을 결정하는 문제로서Profit-Based Unit Commitment (PBUC) 문제로 알려져 있다. PBUC 문제는 문제 자체의 복잡성과 비선형 제약식의 특성으로 인하여 과거 연구는 대부분 비선형 제약식 처리를 위한 Lagrangian Relaxation (LR) 기반 휴리스틱 접근법에 초점이 맞추어져 왔다. 하지만, 실제현업 적용에 있어 계산시간이 많이 소요되고 알고리즘의 구현에 많은 기간이 소요되어 실용성은 낮은 것으로 보고되었다. 특히 연료도입 및 저장제약을 고려하기 위한 1년 단위 장기 발전계획 수립은 문제의 범위가 더욱 넓어짐으로 인하여 복잡성이 매우 크게 증가하고, 이에 따라 기존 접근법에 한계가 있어 왔다. 이에 본 연구에서는 국내가스발전소의 사례를 중심으로 발전패턴개념의 도입 및 다양한 발전패턴 생성을 통한 Explicit Column Generation 기반 최적화 접근법을 제안한다. 발전패턴은 Column Generation 접근법의 각 Column에 해당하는 각주별 발전기 기동정지계획을 의미한다. 즉, 미리 유효한 발전패턴의 Pool을 최대한 확보한 후 Explicit Column Generation Formulation을 통하여 주별 최적의 발전패턴을 찾아내는 알고리즘으로 구성이 된다. 본 알고리즘은 실제 가스발전소의 장기 발전계획 수립과정에 적용되어 효과적으로 운용되고 있으며 연간 수십억원의 추가적인 이익을 실현할 것으로 분석되었다. 본 알고리즘을 확장 적용할 경우 PBUC 문제 해결을 위한 새로운 해법으로도 그 효용성이 클 것으로 예상된다.자료이기 때문에 통계적 활용의 범위가 방대하다. 특히 개인, 가구, 사업체 등 사회 활동의 주체들이 어떻게 변화하는지를 추적할 수 있는 자료를 생산함으로써 다양한 인과적 통계분석을 할 수 있다. 행정자료를 활용한 인구센서스의 이러한 특징은 국가의 교육정책, 노동정책, 복지정책 등 다양한 정책을 정확한 자료를 근거로 수립할 수 있는 기반을 제공한다(Gaasemyr, 1999). 이와 더불어 행정자료 기반의 인구센서스는 비용이 적게 드는 장점이 있다. 예를 들어 덴마크나 핀란드에서는 조사로 자료를 생산하던 때의 1/20 정도 비용으로 행정자료로 인구센서스의 모든 자료를 생산하고 있다. 특히, 최근 모든 행정자료들이 정보통신기술에 의해 데이터베이스 형태로 바뀌고, 인터넷을 근간으로 한 컴퓨터네트워크가 발달함에 따라 각 부처별로 행정을 위해 축적한 자료를 정보통신기술로 연계${cdot}$통합하면 막대한 조사비용을 들이지 않더라도 인구센서스자료를 적은 비용으로 생산할 수 있는 근간이 마련되었다. 이렇듯 행정자료 기반의 인구센서스가 많은 장점을 가졌지만, 그렇다고 모든 국가가 당장 행정자료로 인구센서스를 대체할 수 있는 것은 아니다. 행정자료로 인구센서스통계를 생산하기 위해서는 각 행정부서별로 사용하는 행정자료들을 연계${cdot}$통합할 수 있도록 국가사회전반에 걸쳐 행정 체제가 갖추어져야 하기 때문이다. 특히 모든 국민 개개인에 관한 기본정보, 개인들이 거주하며 생활하는 단위인 개별 주거단위에 관한 정보가 행정부에 등록되어 있고, 잘 정비되어 있어야 하며, 정보의 형태 또한 서로 연계가 가능하도록 표준화되어있어야 한다. 이와 더불어, 현재 인구센서스에서 표본조사를 통해 부가적으로 생산하는 경제활동통계를 생산하기 위해서는 개인이 속한 사업체를 파악할 수 있도록 모든 사업체가 등록되어

Sensor Fault Detection Scheme based on Deep Learning and Support Vector Machine (딥 러닝 및 서포트 벡터 머신기반 센서 고장 검출 기법)

  • As machines have been automated in the field of industries in recent years, it is a paramount importance to manage and maintain the automation machines. When a fault occurs in sensors attached to the machine, the machine may malfunction and further, a huge damage will be caused in the process line. To prevent the situation, the fault of sensors should be monitored, diagnosed and classified in a proper way. In the paper, we propose a sensor fault detection scheme based on SVM and CNN to detect and classify typical sensor errors such as erratic, drift, hard-over, spike, and stuck faults. Time-domain statistical features are utilized for the learning and testing in the proposed scheme, and the genetic algorithm is utilized to select the subset of optimal features. To classify multiple sensor faults, a multi-layer SVM is utilized, and ensemble technique is used for CNN. As a result, the SVM that utilizes a subset of features selected by the genetic algorithm provides better performance than the SVM that utilizes all the features. However, the performance of CNN is superior to that of the SVM.

  • This study is aimed at enhancing mobility rights for the transportation underprivileged that has been made light of relatively compared to normal people. In order to do this, we've suggested having ITS (Intelligent Traffic System) built and improving satisfaction through the test operation of its main system. The existing sound signal device for the visually handicapped has one problem with managing it. Because, the people in charge of it had to visit each problematic site directly to maintain and fix some problems every time it was out of order. Moreover, it couldn't provide sustainable services about voice guidance and the visually handicapped had to control it by either confirming the location of buttons that were installed on the pillar of traffic light and then pressing one of them or using a remote controller on their own. In order to improve such inconveniences, we have created a new typed sound signal device for the visually handicapped by applying the cutting-edge wireless technology based on ergonomics considering actual road situations. Such technology enables it report the status of signal device and light to them by using its voice guidance system automatically every time they have access to it. Additionally, we've already introduced it to a couple of test areas and then known the fact that they recognized traffic situation more conveniently and safely compared to the existing sound signal device. That is above average in terms of satisfaction. In addition to that, we've provided LTS (Location Tracking System - Location-based service intended for elementary students) by utilizing the existing wireless infrastructure and founded the fact that about 87% of their parents were satisfied with the service based on LTS.

  • As the appearance of very high speed telecommunication network, volume of network, is enlarged and complicated, management of the various network equipments and hosting systems become more complicated and significant. Recently, there have been various researches on network management system that is capable of managing and operating the network environment based on SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol). SNMP has many advantages, which is easy to implement and has a simple structure. However, as the network structure has become more complicated, it has caused a number of problems like the increase of network load and limit of the network management scope in terms of the network expansion and efficiency. Especially, it needs expensive cost and time for developing a network because many network developers are almost depended manually for developing it till now. In this paper, we propose a framework for network management program that automates the generation of information for network management. The Proposed framework is able to automatically generate a network management program by using information related with equipments which were provided along with the network equipments and SNMP library Thus, we ill make not only the SNMP network structure expansion become easier but also errors maintaining and development time of the network management program were dramatically reduced by using generated network program through our proposed framework.

A study on the wire reduction design and effect analysis for the train vehicle line (화물열차 분산제어시스템 개발에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we propose wired and wireless distributed control systems designed to improve the freight logistics efficiency and verify wired distributed control systems. The verification condition required that 50 cargo vehicles be connected and operated to travel 21 km from Busan Sinhang station to Jinlye Station at an average speed of about 100km/h. The verification results show that the traction output and braking output of the control and controlled cars are dispersed by the wired distributed control system. The application is expected to more than double the efficiency of the logistics compared to the existing freight transportation system. However, in the case of the wired distributed control system, cable installation and maintenance are difficult, and it is impossible to change the combination of freight vehicles. Through the verification of the wired distributed control system, the applicability of distributed control systems to freight vehicles in Korea was confirmed and the system was further developed to produce a wireless distributed control system. In order to apply the wireless distributed control system, a propagation environment analysis for the ISM band was performed in the testbed and, as a result, it was confirmed that Wifi technology using the ISM band could be utilized. In order to use the WDP (Wireless Distributed Power) devices newly installed in the target vehicles, the transmission / reception control signals associated with the propulsion / braking / total control devices are defined. In the case of wireless distributed control systems, the convenience of their application and operation is guaranteed, but reliability and emergency safety measures should because of the dependence of the control of the vehicle on radio signals.

The Study of RIA Development Direction using Suggestion System (제안제도를 활용한 RIA 발전 방향에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: Until now, the process was improved by the needs of experimenters personally. But recently, suggestion system in hospital has been activated in various ways. So the department of nuclear medicine laboratory is also aware of the need of operation improvement using suggestion system. It is intend to assist in the development by sharing excellent suggestion cases with other hospitals. Material & Method: A total of 124 suggestion cases from January 2007 to March 2010 were analyzed. Suggestion cases were divided into customer satisfaction, cost reduction, improved testing methods, equipment, environmental improvement, and computational system. Result: Suggestion cases of environmental improvement and computational system were accounted for 26.6% as 33 cases, respectively. Suggestion for customer satisfaction is 25.8% as 32 in a total of 124 cases. Conclusion: Activation of the awareness of operation improvement is induced by suggestion system. By securing system of operation improvement, employees' ideas can lead to the production and systematization. Furthermore, it enhances hospital competitiveness and promotes the development of the hospital.

  • The turnout system, which determines the direction of the train, is not only a key system but also a vulnerable system. Failure of this system may lead to a delay of the train or even casualties. In this light, it is necessary to precisely the conditions of the turnout system. Currently, ROADMASTER of Germany is used as a diagnostic system in Korea. However, a new diagnostic system should be developed for optimized operation of the turnout system with maintenance that is suitable for the Korean railway environment. In this paper, a Fault Tree Analysis for the representative faults of the turnout system is conducted and physical quantities, which can be the cause of the fault, are classified according to the component and function. Also, the measuring factors for the monitoring are derived and a decision making theory is suggested. On the basis of the results, we propose a new turnout diagnostic system that can provide more driverse and precise information than the conventional system.

  • Liquid rocket engines (LREs) are very complex systems that include combustion chambers, turbopumps, gas generators, ducts and tubes, valves and etc. Most components of the LREs require higher than or equal to level 6 IT (ISO Tolerance). The components along with pipe line and/or tubing must dispose not to interfere each other. In addition, effectiveness of maintenance and service after assembling should be considered when the allocation of the components are determined. Especially at the stage of the development, tolerance accumulations or unpredictable errors may result in misalignment and/or mismatches at interfaces of the parts. Namely, it is the engine assembling process that many inherent risks are realized and crises or incidents occur. Therefore, a rapid reaction system should be prepared. In this research, 7 tonf class liquid rocket assembling process was studied and actual building steps were introduced.

  • Recently, energy consumption for heating costs, which is 35% of smart farm energy costs, has increased, requiring energy consumption efficiency, and the importance of new and renewable energy is increasing due to concerns about the realization of electricity bills. Renewable energy belongs to hydropower, wind, and solar power, of which solar energy is a power generation technology that converts it into electrical energy, and this technology has less impact on the environment and is simple to maintain. In this study, based on the greenhouse heat storage tank and heat pump data, the factors that affect the heat storage tank are selected and a heat storage tank supply temperature prediction model is developed. It is predicted using Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), which is effective for time series data analysis and prediction, and XGBoost model, which is superior to other ensemble learning techniques. By predicting the temperature of the heat pump heat storage tank, energy consumption may be optimized and system operation may be optimized. In addition, we intend to link it to the smart farm energy integrated operation system, such as reducing heating and cooling costs and improving the energy independence of farmers due to the use of solar power. By managing the supply of waste heat energy through the platform and deriving the maximum heating load and energy values required for crop growth by season and time, an optimal energy management plan is derived based on this.
