Analysis of Appropriateness for Maintenance of Aged Small Bridges based on Condition and Load Carrying Capacity Evaluation (상태평가와 내하성능평가를 통한 소규모 노후교량의 유지관리 적정성 분석)

  • Small bridges carry out only general inspections based on visual inspection. The Bridges with more than 30 years of public use need to be decided on whether or not they will be reconstruction according to aging. However, there are some situations that need to be determined only by appearance condition, which is insufficient in terms of safety maintenance. In this paper, the condition evaluation and the load carrying capacity evaluation were carried out for aged small bridges. A comparison of the evaluation results was conducted to examine the appropriateness of the maintenance related to the decision making of the reconstruction. As a result of reviewing, two of the bridges showed that there are no abnormality in the safety of the state evaluation, but the load capacity were insufficient. Thus evaluation the safety and performing the reconstruction decision of aged small bridges by visual inspection alone with may cause problems. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out additional research on the ambient measurement and load carrying capacity evaluation for the maintenance of the bridges, and to supplement it through application of the bridge management system.

Condition Estimation of Facility Elements Using XGBoost (XGBoost를 활용한 시설물의 부재 상태 예측)

  • To reduce facility management costs and safety concerns due to aging of facilities, it is important to estimate the future facilities' condition based on facility management data and utilize predictive information for management decision making. To this end, this study proposed a methodology to estimate facility elements' condition using XGBoost. To validate the proposed methodology, this study constructed sample data for road bridges and developed a model to estimate condition grades of major elements expected in the next inspection. As a result, the developed model showed satisfactory performance in estimating the condition grades of deck, girder, and abutment/pier (average F1 score 0.869). In addition, a testbed was established that provides data management function and element condition estimation function to demonstrate the practical applicability of the proposed methodology. It was confirmed that the facility management data and predictive information in this study could help managers in making facility management decisions.

  • The maintenance techniques of reinforced concrete structures, which include diagnosis, repair and rehabilit¬ation, are not systematically establishtxL This study develops an expert system for maintenance of reinforced concrete structures based on the related documents and knowledge and experience of experts who work in these field. The analytical results using the developed expert system were compared to the real repair cases in field and they were generally satisfactory.

  • Cheongju city is executing a basic sewage maintenance plan for the systematic understanding of the sewage facilities, efficient preservation management, and reformation of the existent sewage facilities, in order to prevent the contamination of water and to preserve the neighboring environments. The new business constitute approximately 6% of the entire facility production, and renovation business constitute approximately 1.5% every year according to the statistics information of the last five years. This research provides effectiveness and reliability for sewage construction, and improvement in service for the civilians, through the efficient management of various documents, construction fees, design drawings, photographs, and construction background for the annually made constructions with the development of the effective management system for the sewage work.

  • 본 논문은 해상 안전을 유지하는 중요한 역할을 수행하는 스마트 항로표지 시스템의 높은 가용성을 유지하기 위해 제안된 장애관리 방안에 대한 연구이다. 스마트 항로표지 시스템은 고가용성을 요구하는 시스템으로, 시스템의 건전성을 유지하고 장애 발생 시 빠른 대응이 필요하다. 따라서, 이 논문에서는 마이크로 서비스 아키텍처 기반의 방안을 제안한다. 이를 통해 장애 발생 시 해당 서비스만 중단되고, 다른 서비스는 계속 운영될 수 있어 시스템 전체의 가용성과 신뢰성을 높일 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 모니터링 및 로깅 시스템을 도입하여 빠른 대응이 가능하도록 하며, 또한, 다양한 장애 관리 방안을 제시한다. 이를 통해 스마트 항로표지 시스템의 고가용성을 확보하여 안정적인 운영을 보장하는 데 기여할 수 있다.

A study on the weights on the evaluation items for utility tunnel performance evaluation (공동구 성능평가를 위한 평가항목의 가중치 산정 연구)

  • The Korean government amended the Facilities Safety Act in 2018 to establish a performance-based maintenance system. This system is designed to comprehensively evaluate the safety, durability, and usage performance of facilities required to maintain their function in use, and to establish corresponding maintenance plans. However, the current maintenance system of utility tunnels is managed by a safety-oriented evaluation method, which has limitations in conducting performance evaluations that consider durability and usage performance. Therefore, in this study, safety, durability, and usage performance items for utility tunnels were selected using the Delphi method, and the weight of each item was calculated using the entropy weighting method. The results of this study are expected to be used in future performance evaluations of utility tunnels to support rational decision making when establishing maintenance plans.

  • Recently, the demand on the practical application of life-cycle cost effectiveness for design and rehabilitation of structure is rapidly growing unprecedently in engineering practice. Accordingly, in the 21st century, it is almost obvious that life-cycle cost together with value engineering will become a new paradigm for all engineering decision problems in practice. However, in spite of impressive progress in the researches on the LCC, the most researches have only focused on the Deterministic or Probabilistic LCC analysis approach (Level-1 LCC Model) at design stage. Thus, the goal of this study is to develop a practical and realistic methodology for the Lifetime risk based Life-Cycle Cost (LCC)-effective optimum decision-making at design stage.

  • 기후변화로 인한 집중호우와 가뭄 등 물 관련 재해가 지속적으로 발생하고 있다. 여름철 강우가 집중되고 하천의 경사가 급한 우리나라의 기상 및 지형학적 조건은 기후변화의 영향과 함께 물관리의 어려움을 가중시키고 있다. 이와 같은 외부적 요인변화에 따라 댐, 보, 제방, 홍수조절지 등과 같은 수자원시설의 안전관리 및 효율적인 운영의 중요성이 높아지고 있다. 특히 「시설물의 안전 및 유지관리에 관한 특별법」 대상인 국가 주요 시설물 가운데 수자원시설의 고령화율이 타시설물에 비해 높아, 체계적인 관리가 필요한 상태이다. 수자원시설의 효율적인 운영 및 유지관리체계를 구축하기 위해서는 첫째, 시설물의 성능평가 제도를 적극적으로 활용하고, 둘째, 국가 주요 시설물의 범위를 확대하며, 셋째, 시설물의 자산관리 체계를 구축할 필요가 있다.

  • CORBA는 분산 시스템의 객체를 관리하기 위한 모형으로 여러 응용에서 장점을 보인다. 그러나 CORBA 객체의 정의에는 지속성을 가정하고 있지 않다. 본 논문에서는 CORBA의 BOA(Basic Object Adapter)에 객체 데이타베이스 어댑터(Object Database Adapter, ODA)를 구현하여 객체를 관계 데이타베이스에 저장함으로써 객체의 지속성을 유지하도록 하였다. 객체의 관리는 객체지향 데이타베이스 시스템이 자연스러우나 본 논문에서는 이미 구축된 관계 데이타베이스 시스템과 응용을 공유할 수 있도록 관계 데이타베이스용을 구현하였다. ORB는 Orbix를 사용하였고, 튜플의 객체로의 대응은 Tie 법과 객체포장기 개념을 사용하였다. CORBA 응용의 관점에서 데이타베이스 시스템을 이용한 객체의 지속성 유지는 지속성 유지와 더불어 많은 수의 객체를 효율적으로 관리할 수 있고, 병행성, 회복기법 등을 이용할 수 있는 여러 장점이 있다. 또 데이타베이스 시스템 측면에서 CORBA와 데이타베이스 어댑터의 이용은 사용자에게 데이타베이스 스키마에 관한 사항을 숨김으로써 데이타베이스 접근을 쉽게 하고, 분산된 데이타베이스 환경에서는 데이타베이스 모델과 언어의 이질성을 해소할 수 있는 장점이 있다.

  • There is a tremendous need for an effective indoor facility management since the building are tend to be built taller and bigger due to latest technology, Also, information that is continuously used and transferred during the design and construction phase is emerging due to 3D object-oriented CAD. Therefore, a system that will use such information for facility management should be developed. In this study, we present the methodology for definition the process that generates the Space Network Model automatically and examine the effective value of it.
