Development and Performance Test of Hydraulic PTO for 50㎾ Class Rotating Body Type Wave Energy Converter (50㎾급 동체회전형 파력발전시스템 유압식 전력변환장치 개발 및 성능시험)

  • 50kW급 동체회전형 파력발전시스템(WEC;wave energy converter)의 전력변환장치(PTO; power take-off)를 설계 제작한 후 성능시험을 하였다. 파력발전시스템은 2개의 실린더형 동체가 회전관절로 연결된 구조로 수면의 반정도 잠기는 구조로 되어있다. 파랑에 의해 유도된 회전관전의 움직임이 유압실린더에 힘을 가해주며, 유압실린더는 고압의 작동유를 축압기를 경유하여 발전기에 체결된 유압모터로 공급한다. 유압식 PTO은 유압실린더가 왕복운동하는 움직임을 이용하여 고품질의 전력을 생산하는데 효과전인 수단을 제공한다. 파력발전시스템의 경제성은 PTO의 에너지 변환 효율에 크게 의존한다. 발전기를 AC 380V 전력계통에 연계시킨 후, 발전기에서 나오는 출력이 5, 20, 35, 43kW 일때 PTO 전체와 개별기기에 대한 효율을 측정하였다. 본 논문에서 유압식 PTO시스템의 설계에 대해 설명하였으며 효율 향상에 초점을 맞추어 PTO 성능대해 분석하였다.

  • An electric excavator consumes battery energy to drive an electric motor attached to a hydraulic pump to generate hydraulic power. In a conventional hydraulic excavator, the hydraulic pump is controlled by regulators, which are used to optimize the diesel engine efficiency. Because of a lack of battery energy capacity, an electric excavator controller should consider not only the electric motor efficiency but also the hydraulic pump efficiency. Thus, electric motor and hydraulic pump efficiency maps were constructed. An optimal operating map (OOM) was created based on the most efficient operating points under each input condition. An integrated control algorithm controlled the speed of the electric motor and displacement of the hydraulic pump according to the OOM. To confirm the utility of this algorithm, a model-in-the-loop simulator for the algorithm with an electric excavator was established. The simulation results showed that the integrated control algorithm improved the energy efficiency of an electric excavator.

  • Because a hydraulic actuator has high power and force densities, this allows the weight of the robot's limbs to be reduced. This allows for good dynamic characteristics and high energy efficiency. Thus, hydraulic actuators are used in some exoskeleton robots and quadrupedal robots that require high torque. Force control is useful for robot compliance with a user or environment. However, force control of a hydraulic robot is difficult because a hydraulic servo system is highly nonlinear from a control perspective. In this study, a nonlinear model was used to develop a simulation program for a hydraulic servo system consisting of a servo valve, transmission lines, and a cylinder. The problems and considerations with regard to the force control performance for a hydraulic servo system were investigated. A force control method using the nonlinear model was proposed, and its effect was evaluated with the simulation program.

  • Electro-hydrostatic actuators(EHAs), which are usually composed of a direct motor-driven hydraulic pump and a cylinder, have been widely adopted as aircraft actuation systems because of their benefits in terms of improved efficiency, weight savings and the fact that they use a standalone power source. Since the recent trend in construction vehicles has been focus on energy savings in their hydraulic systems, EHAs are expected to be potential substitutes for conventional power transmission, since they are capable of energy recovery as well as highly efficient pump control. In this paper, the start and stop characteristics of EHAs were investigated through cracking pressure analysis of the pilot-operated check valve(PCV), which enables the cylinder to standstill against an external load with no holding effort from the hydraulic pump. A mathematical model that includes the load dynamics and the EHA's internal hydraulic circuit was derived for simulation with the MATLAB Simulink package. This model verified the PCV's opening and closing sequence, which in turn affects the EHA's start and stop characteristics.

Analysis and Improvement of False Alarm Phenomenon of Emergency Hydraulic Warning Light by Shielded RF Radiation Signal (RF 방사 신호 차폐를 통한 비상 유압경고등의 비정상 점등 현상의 원인분석 및 개선)

  • In this paper, improvement measures were studied for false alarm (abnormal lighting) of emergency hydraulic warning light due to RF radiation signals in aircraft. When the warning lamp of the emergency hydraulic system is lit during flight due to electromagnetic interference caused by RF radiation signals, it affects flight mission and safety which can result in efficiency degradation and maintenance of flight mission. For false alarm of emergency hydraulic warning light, root cause analysis and troubleshooting were carried out. By shielding a composite strip under fuselage of the aircraft located in the path of the RF radiation signal, the RF radiation signal flowing into the emergency hydraulic indicator was blocked. Results of applying the improvement method through ground and flight monitoring were also described.

  • In this paper, the development results of electromechanical TVC actuation system is described in the aspect of design, analysis, manufacturing and test. The kinds of prime power for TVC actuation system is classified by the variety of propulsion system of launch vehicle. The electric power by battery is the sole candidate for prime power of TVC actuation system at the view point of feasible domestic infra technologies for the present. The characteristic analysis study is performed between electromechanical and electrohydraulic actuation system with respect to power efficiency, performance and weight efficiency. The electromechanical actuation system has superiority of power and weight efficiency according to less opportunity of power conversion process.

  • Hydraulic systems are widely used as a power transfer and/or power control system due to its flexibility, controllability, accuracy and high power density. Valve controlled and/or pump capacity controlled systems are normally adopted as a control device, but nowadays pump speed controlled systems are emerging as a new energy-efficient hydraulic control system. In this paper the pump speed controlled system for the cylinder position control of a counter balance circuit is investigated by simulation study and position control experiments were carried out. As a result, the possibility and efficiency of the pump speed controlled system were verified.

  • Large hydraulic excavator weighted 90 tons used the several pumps installed in parallel to use the hydraulic pump driving gearbox to improve fuel consumption by improving the energy efficiency of the hydraulic system. Gearbox connected to hydraulic pump supply the mechanical output to the high pressure and low pressure pump to be supplied by torque and rotation, which are the mechanical power, through a input shaft connected to large size engine of the excavator. So, gearbox connected to hydraulic pump is same as main artery in the human body and is required long life because it operates the hydraulic pump continuously during operating the engine. This study had used oil contamination analysis method to check the wear characteristics of the gearbox and frequency response characteristic analysis method to check the failure of the teeth failures of gearbox, while the test equipment adopted by the electrical feedback method to reduce the energy consumption was operating for the life assessment, in which the required power was 600 kW input power.

  • 국내에서 대부분 생산되는 사료(사일리지) 수확 작업은 베일 생산 및 비닐 래핑 작업이 독립적으로 수행되고 있어서 비효율적이다. 본 연구에서 개발한 조사료 수확기는 수집, 롤링, 베일 네트 생성, 래핑, 래핑 종료 및 베일 방출작업을 통합적으로 수행하도록 설계-제작하였다. 통합형 다목적 조사료수확기의 설계는 3D 디자인 툴 (CATIA V5R18)을 이용하여 실시하였으며, 기구부 23 파트 어셈블리, 전기제어 어셈블리, 유압요소기술을 통합하여 통합시작기를 제작하였다. 기초 프레임, 오거장치파트, 픽업장치파트, 하부롤러파트, 상부롤러파트, 하부 프레임 및 주행부 파트, 래핑회전파트, 롤러부 구동 동력부, 유압파트, 전기제어파트, 드로우바파트, 체결 및 컨트롤러 파트 등 25개 파트로 구성되어 있다. 본 연구에서 개발한 시작기의 견인력 및 소요동력 분석은 선행 연구에서 사용한 Brixius (1987) 제안 모델을 체택하여 분석하였다. 이 Brixius 제안 모델은 견인력 예측에서 토양변수 및 토양강도 특성을 나타내는 원추지수 (Cone Index, CI)를 이용하여 트랙터의 견인력 예측에 사용하였다. 또한 트랙터-조사료수확기 시스템의 소요 견인력을 예측하는데 있어, 트랙터-조사료수확기 시스템이 운용되는 토양조건과 트랙터의 마력에 따른 소요 견인력 특성을 분석하기 위해 대표적으로 3수준의 토양조건 (CI: 356 kPa, 543 kPa, 1,429 kPa)을 적용하였으며, 베일의 개당 최대무게는 최고 수준인 옥수수 기준으로 800 kgf를 적용하였다. 본 연구에서 적용된 3수준의 CI 조건은 연구팀에서 선행연구과정 (토양특성에 따른 최적 경운작업 시스템 개발, 2006)에서 분석한 전국 10개 지역의 33개 지점의 경반층 CI지수의 측정범위인 1,050-3,170 kPa에 대해 견인력이 많이 소요되는 열악한 조건 수준을 적용하였다. 각 작업에 사용된 소요동력은 베일 작업시 (ASABE D497.7, 2011) 그리고 래핑작업시 (Zhortuylov et al., 2013)를 사용하였으며 두 소요마력을 트랙터-조사료 수확기 시스템의 필요 소요마력의 합계로 계산하였다. 트랙터-조사료수확기 시스템의 최소 소요 동력, 차축 소요 동력과 PTO 소요 동력을 Zoz and Grisso (2003)을 이용하여 계산하였다. 연구에서는 기본적으로 ASAE의 작업속도 및 작업효율을 적용하였는데, 적용된 조사료수확기의 현장 작업효율은 60-86%의 범위이고 일반적으로 70%를 적용하고 이때 작업속도는 2.5-8.0 km/h이며 전형적으로 5.0 km/h를 기준하고 있다. 자주식 (SP; sief-propelled machine) 조사료수확기의 경우 작업속도가 2.5-10.0 km/h의 범위에서 작업효율은 60-85% 범위이다. 적용되는 조사료 수확기의 작업효율인 60-85% 범위에서 일반적으로 적용되는 작업효율인 70%를 적용하면 트랙터의 소요동력은 95hp를 적정 작업환경으로 하였다.

  • The HPM (High-speed Power Matching) system is an electro-hydraulic control system. It directly controls the swash plate of the pump by selecting four-loop logic based on joystick signals, pump flow, and pressure signal to improve the efficiency and controllability of construction machines. In the NFC (Negative Flow Control) system, a typical pump control system using conventional open center type MCV, the loss is continuously generated by flow through the center bypass line even when the excavator is not in operation. Also, due to the slow response of the pump that indirectly controls the flow rate using the pressure regulator, peak pressure occurs at the start or stop of the operation. Conversely, the HPM system uses an MCV without center-by-pass flow path and the swash plate of a pump for the HPM is controlled by a high-speed proportional flow control valve. As a result, the HPM system minimizes energy loss in standby state of the excavator and enables peak pressure control through rapid electro-hydraulic control of a pump. In this paper, the concept of the HPM system algorithm is introduced and the hydraulic system efficiency is compared with the NFC system using the excavator SAT (System Analysis Tool).
