Parametric Study on Heat Flux Characteristics of a Sub-scale Calorimeter (막냉각량 및 작동점 변화가 액체로켓 칼로리미터의 열유속에 미치는 영향)

  • Effects of the changes of a film cooling mass flow rate and operating conditions on the heat flux characteristics of the subscale calorimeter were studied. A film cooling ring with twelve orifices is inserted between the injector head and the calorimeter. The calorimeter is composed of nineteen cooling channels. When a mass flow rate of film cooling is 10.5 % of a main fuel mass flow rate, maximum heat flux at the nozzle throat is decreased by 30% compared to that without film cooling. In the OD3(of-design point) test result, maximum heat flux at the nozzle throat is increased by 31% compared to that of the DP(design point) test when a film cooling flow rate is zero.

A Study on Turbulent Boundary Layer around a Two-Dimensional Hydrofoil using LDV System (레이저 유속계를 이용한 2차원날개 단면 주위의 난류경계층 연구)

  • The flow around a two-dimensional foil section Is measured by a LDV(Laser Doppler Velocimetry) system which is capable of measuring the datailed flow field without interfering the original flow field. A 2-color 3-beam LDV system, which is capable of mea,;tiring 2 velocity components simultaneously and uses 2W Ar-Ion laser source, is used to measure the flow field around an NACA0012 foil section. The measured flow velocities are analysed iii order to study the boundary layer characteristics, flow separation and the detail structure of the flow near the trailing edge of the foil. The boundary layer characteristics are compared with the results by the head's momentum integral method. For the case of small angle of attack at relatively higher Reynolds number, both results show good agreements. The measured data of the velocity field around an NACA0012 foil section would be valuable data to validate the CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamic) calculation results. The developed experimental technique to evaluate the characteristics of two-dimensional foil sections is essential tool to develope new blade sections which have good lift characteristics and better cavitation performances.

Analyses of Correlation Between Groundwater Movement and Tidal Effect in West Costal Landfill Area (서해안 매립지 내 지하수유동과 조석에 관한 상관성 분석)

  • The groundwater movement in the west costal landfill area was analyzed by measuring N value by Standard Penetration Test, coefficient of permeability by falling head method, linear structure analysis by Digital Elevation Method, groundwater flow direction and rate by flowmeter logging due to tidal variation in the each borehole. The coefficients of permeability of the weathered zone and of the marine deposit showed similar values although some values of weathered zone show smaller values than those of the marine deposit. The major groundwater flow and rate in the marine deposit observed as east-west direction due to tidal variation, but on the other hand it was observed as N45E in weathered zone which is the major direction of the linear structures in the area. 2 hours delayed changes of the groundwater flow direction was observed during the 24 hours observation, and it seems to be a travel time of the tidal wave which cause the continuous change of the hydaulic gradient of the groundwater.

  • The purpose of this study is to decide the permeability and the rate of flow in a way of both site investigation and backward analysis and the most reasonable numerical analysis by performing a seepage model test for measuring the deformation swept volume of the embankment body in order to review a stability of the sea dyke being composed of multi-layers depending on variation of infiltration. As a result of the review, it could be forecasted that sweeping loss would be taken place at the boundary between bed protection works and embankment materials of the sea dyke due to a permeability difference of the multi-layered bed foundation structures and the sea dyke deformation would be occurred as a result thereby. As result of a numerical analysis for the seepage model test, it could be observed that critical velocity method was found to be smaller than the numerical analysis value but its tendency was similar and therefore it was judged that this method could be applied for the actual cross section.

Insulation Performance Evaluation through Insulation Test and Transient Heat Transfer Analysis of Cryogenic Common Bulkhead Propellant Tanks (극저온 공통격벽 추진제 탱크의 단열 시험과 과도 열전달 해석을 통한 단열 성능 평가)

  • The validity of the analysis results was confirmed based on the insulation test results, and the vaporization mass generated in the common bulkhead was calculated to evaluate the common bulkhead propellant tank's insulation performance. The analysis results were validated by comparing the transient heat transfer analysis with the insulation test results. A transient heat transfer analysis was subsequently conducted on the common bulkhead propellant tank, considering the internal heat conduction in the propellant tank and natural convection heat transfer due to the outside air. This analysis extracted the heat flux generated in the common bulkhead and quantified the vaporization mass, a key indicator of insulation performance. Consequently, the vaporization mass was calculated at 0.09 kg, below the insulation design standard of 0.12 kg for the common bulkhead propellant tank, confirming it meets the insulation performance standard.

  • 본 논문은 최근 이슈가 되고 있는 해양에너지 중 해류의 흐름을 이용한 조류발전 시스템에 관한 것으로 대학 실험실규모에서 조류발전 시스템의 성능 및 특성을 효율적으로 시험 평가할 수 있도록 구성된 모의실험 장치에 관한 것이다. 조류발전은 타 에너지원에 비해 발전의 제한조건과 단점이 거의 없으며 국내 자연환경에 적용하기에 적합한 많은 장점을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 조류발전 시스템의 성능 및 특성을 시험할 수 있도록 Motor-Generator Set(M-G Set)을 구성하였고, 최대출력제어를 위해 사전에 PSIM을 이용하여 시뮬레이션을 수행하여 최대 출력제어 알고리즘을 검증하였다. 구축된 조류 발전 모의실험 장치는 해양의 기후, 시간 변화에 따른 조류 속도 변화를 효율적으로 모의할 수 있도록 전동기 속도 제어를 가능하도록 하였다. 조류발전 시스템에서는 와류등으로 인해 유속을 측정하기 힘들고, 오차가 발생할 가능성이 많다. 그래서 유속 정보 없이 최대출력제어가 가능한 알고리즘을 시뮬레이션하여 수행하였다. 본 연구는 향후 실시간 발전 사항을 모니터링 할 수 있도록 LabVIEW 기반 모니터링 시스템에서 최대 출력제어 시스템을 구축하기 위한 좋은 자료로 쓰일 것이라 판단된다.

  • 국내외에 아직 적용 실적이 없는 발전소의 해수방류수를 이용한 조류식발전시스템의 개발을 위하여 하동화력발전소 방수로에 시험용 조류식 발전시스템을 설계 및 제작하여 현장시험이 진행 중이며, 이를 확장하여 상업용 발전을 위한 총 개발 규모를 산정하고 경제성을 분석하였다. 조류식발전구조물의 형상 설계, 가이드 베인을 이용한 출력 조정을 통하여 방수로의 수류상태를 적절히 조절하여 설계하는 것이 가능할 것으로 판단되며, 조류식발전구조물 설치시 방수로의 수류특성 수치계산 결과로 판단할 때 발전출력에 의한 에너지 회수뿐만 아니라 조류식발전구조물의 단면축소 효과 및 수두손실이 방수로의 수위 변화에 상당한 규모로 영향을 주고 있음을 확인하였다. 조류식발전구조물 설치 이전의 유속 관측 결과를 이용하여 발전량을 산정한 경우 소수력발전 단가 적응시 경제성이 떨어지지만, 조류식발전시스템의 설치시 유속 증가 효과가 나타날 뿐만 아니라 가이드 베인 등을 이용하여 발전량 증대를 꾀하면 충분한 경제성을 확보할 수 있는 조류식발전시스템의 설치가 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

  • It is very important to protect life, property at sea from any fire. Recommendation on improved fire test procedures for surface flammability of bulkhead ceiling and deck finish materials specifies a procedure for measuring fire characterizing their flammability and thus their suitability for use in marine construction. In this paper we investigated the positive expected by fire test procedures for flammability of bulkhead ceiling and deck finish materials. Also, unusual materials were analyzed. Finally, we suggest methods to solve several problems related to unusual materials.

Seepage Behavior of Sea Dyke Final Closure with Installation of Bottom Protection Filter Mat (근고공 필터매트 설치에 따른 방조제 끝막이구간의 침투거동)

  • Sea dyke construction is simply defined as a cutting procedure of sea water flow. Sea dyke construction is more difficult than in-land construction because it is placed on deep seabed and exposed sea wave attack. Especially, the final closure of sea dyke is most dangerous due to the fast velocity of tidal flow. The final closure is consisted with vast rubble and heavy stone gabion, therefore the discharge velocity at land side of final close section is irregularly and sometime occur the fast discharge velocity. In this paper, the seepage model test performed to evaluate seepage behavior of final closure and continuous sea dyke section such as discharge velocity, hydraulic gradient, and phreatic line with installation of bottom protection filter mat. Based on the seepage model test results, the maximum discharge velocity of final closure section is 1.7m/sec and the discharge velocity is decreased maximum 23.7% with installation of bottom protection filter mat.
