The Probabilistic Drought Analysis Based on Ensemble Technique through the MSWSI Improvement (MSWSI 개선을 통한 앙상블기법 기반 확률론적 가뭄해석)

  • 최근 우리나라는 봄철 지속적으로 가뭄이 발생하는 추세로 모니터링과 더불어 가뭄 피해를 경감할 수 있도록 가뭄해석 기법이 필요하다. 이를 위해 우선적으로 우리나라 실정에 적합한 가뭄지수를 산정하고, 개선을 통해 가뭄정보들이 수자원확보를 위한 관리와 정책에 활용되어야 한다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 국내 기존에 활용되고 있는 수문학적 가뭄지수인 개선된 지표수공급지수(MSWSI : Modified Surface Water Supply Index)를 선정하고 개선하였으며, 개선된 MSWSI를 이용하여 앙상블기법 기반의 확률론적 가뭄해석을 수행하였다. MSWSI의 개선에 있어서는 우선, 유역 내 공식적으로 수집되는 모든 수문기상인자를 조사하여 기존 MSWSI에서 적용한 강수량, 하천유량, 댐 유입량, 지하수량 4가지 인자와 사용 가능한 댐 저수위, 댐 방류량 인자를 추가하여 반영하였다. 또한 각 수문인자들에 대하여 인자별로 적합한 확률분포를 적용하였다. 또한 극심한 가뭄이 발생한 2006년과 2014년을 대상으로 비교 검토를 실시하고, 앙상블기반 확률론적 가뭄전망을 수행하고 검증하였다. 연구결과, 본 연구에서 개선한 MSWSI가 2006년과 2014년 발생한 가뭄현상을 더 잘 나타내는 것으로 분석되었다. 또한 실제 수문기상현상을 더욱 잘 반영하여 실제 가뭄과 유사한 가뭄결과로 분석되어, 개선된 MSWSI가 효용성이 있음을 확인하였다. 또한 앙상블 기반의 확률론적 가뭄전망 결과, 본 연구에서 개선한 MSWSI를 이용하였을 때 더 우수한 것으로 분석되었다. 대부분의 유역에서 실제 가뭄지수가 개선된 MSWSI를 이용한 가뭄전망 범위에 속하는 것으로 나타나, 본 연구에서 개선한 MSWSI를 활용한다면 보다 정확한 가뭄모니터링 수행이 가능하며, 가뭄전망의 정확성을 높일 것으로 판단된다.

  • 기후변화로 인한 변동성의 증가는 돌발 홍수, 홍수량 증가로 이외에도 강우 사상의 변화, 가뭄의 빈도 및 강도의 증대 등의 문제를 이어질 수 있다. 이러한 기후변화에 대응하기 위하여 기후변화 시나리오를 제시하고 이를 정책적으로 반영할 수 있도록 하고 있다. 기존 IPCC 5차 보고서에 활용한 RCP(Representative Concentration Pathway) 시나리오에서는 온실가스 농도변화만을 반영하고 있으나, 최근 IPCC 6차 보고서에서는 사회적인 노력과 경제적 구조 등 전반적인 기후정책, 사회 불균형 등을 고려한 SSP(Shared Socio-economic Pathways) 시나리오를 제시하였다. 본 연구에서는 2가지 기후변화 시나리오의 차이점과 유사점을 강수 중심으로 평가하였다. 기존의 RCP 시나리오에 비하여 극한 강우 사상의 변화를 비교 및 평가하기 위하여 CORDEX-EA에서 제공하는 지역기후모델(Regional Climate Model; RCM) 기반에 시나리오를 수집하여 극한기후지수를 산정하였다. 극한기후사상을 비교하기 위하여 WMO에서 활용하는 ETCCDI(Expert Team on Climate Change Detection and Indices) 지수 중 강우 관련 지수인 R10mm, RX1day, RX5day, RD95P, RD99P, SDII를 선정하여 시나리오 별로 결과를 비교하여 제시하였다. 또한, 기존의 연대기 기준의 평가방식에서 탈피하여 동일한 기온 상승 시점에 따라 변화를 확인하기 위한 분석절차를 수립하였다. 즉, 1.5℃, 2℃, 3℃ 및 4℃ 상승한 시점의 ETCCDI 지수를 산정하여 극한기후사상을 비교 및 평가하였다.

  • 본 연구에서는 전이 엔트로피 개념을 활용하여 주요 상품 선물의 하방 리스크 지수의 정보 흐름을 바탕으로 한 인과관계 네트워크를 구성하였다. 그리고 구성된 네트워크를 활용하여 금융 시장을 분석하였으며, 또한 정보 흐름의 존재 여부를 바탕으로 상품 선물의 하방 리스크 지수의 예측력이 개선될 수 있는지 확인하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 정보 불확실성의 감소량을 측정하는 전이 엔트로피를 인과관계의 측정 지표로 상정하였으며, 전이 엔트로피 측정 시 발생할 수 있는 유한크기효과(finite size effect)를 조정하는 데 있어서 효과적인 지표인 효율적 전이 엔트로피를 활용하여 정보 흐름 네트워크를 구성하였으며 이를 이용하여 금융 지수 간의 인과관계를 분석하고 EDaR 의 등락 예측에 활용하였다. 그 결과, 금융 시장 지수를 효율적 전이 엔트로피를 이용한 인과관계 네트워크를 활용하여 금융 시장의 복잡계 네트워크 분석이 가능함을 확인하였고, 구성된 네트워크를 활용하여 국내 금융 시장 등락 예측에 있어 더 적은 데이터 열을 활용하여 거의 유사한 예측 결과를 냄으로써 상품 선물 시장 관련 예측의 데이터 열 선택에 활용할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

Numerical analysis of the morphological changes by sediment supply at the downstream channel of Youngju dam (댐 하류하천에서 유사공급에 의한 하도의 지형변화 수치모의 분석(영주댐을 중심으로))

  • In this study, the effects of sediment supply on the downstream of a large dam are investigated using a numerical model. The model simulation shows a good agreement with laboratory experiment results of sediment transport and diffusion from sediment pulses. The water surface changes from the various sediment bed elevations are also simulated using the model. The site which has a relatively stiff bed slope and meandering of a channel is selected as an appropriate location for sediment supply because of its shear stress enough to supply the sediment downstream. The model simulation shows the decrease of channel bed elevation through the simulation period with time. The well-deposition of sediment supplied from the downstream of dam is found in the location where the flow rate is relatively low. A bed relief index is increased with time and it is relatively greater in downstream compared to upstream. The channel bed variability increases as flow rate increases with a greater bed relief index. The results of this study demonstrate the importance of increasing water discharge of a large dam to increase the dynamic of channel bed and thus to enhance the efficiency of channel bed restoration by sediment supply.

Classification of Isolates of Ganoderma lucidum, Schizophyllum commune and Cordyceps spp. by Electrophoretic Patterns of Isozymes (Isozyme patterns 차이에 의한 영지, 치마버섯 및 동충하초의 계통분류)

  • To classify fungal species employed for pharmacological effects, mycelial proteins of six isolates of Ganoderma lucidum, five isolates of Schizophyllum commune and five isolates of Cordyceps spp. were separated on polyacrylamide gel to compare them by esterase, acid phosphatase, leucine aminopeptidase and peroxidase patterns. Similarity of isozyme patterns among the isolates of G. lucidum IY003, IY004, IY005 and IY008 was indicated over 70%, but that among the isolates of G. lucidum IY009, IY010 and others was indicated from 48% to 9%. Highest similarity of isozymes of S. commune was observed to be between IY803 and IY805, and similarity between these two isolates was 57%. Similarity among other isolates was shown to be from 40% to 56%. Isozyme patterns of Cordyceps spp. were comparatively different, even though they were originated from the same kind of insect as their isolate. Similarity between Cordyceps spp. IY901 and IY904, which was isolated from moths, was 67% and that of IY905 and IY909, which was originated from the larvae, was 42%. Similarity among other isolates was shown to be from 12% to 67%.

Comparison of Meteorological Drought Indices Using Past Drought Cases of Taebaek and Sokcho (태백, 속초 과거 가뭄사례를 이용한 기상학적 가뭄지수의 비교 고찰)

  • Drought is a social phenomenon in which the degree of perception varies depending on the affected factors, and is defined as various relative concepts such as meteorological drought, hydrological drought, agricultural drought, and climatological drought. In this study, a comparative analysis of meteorological drought among variously defined droughts was conducted and the applicability of the drought index was examined by comparing the actual drought cases and the results of meteorological drought index analysis. In order to compare the drought index, we used standardized Precipitation Index (SPI), China-Z Index (CZI), Modified CZI (MCZI) and Z-Score Index Respectively. Four drought indices were used for the Taebaek and Sokcho areas. The drought index was analyzed using the meteorological data from 1986 to 2015 for a duration of 3 months. As a result of the analysis, the SPI drought index was analyzed to be highly reproducible for the case of drought with past limited water series. In the case of CZI and MCZI drought indices, the number of extreme dry occurrences is similar to that of the past cases, but the reproducibility is low for the actual drought years. In the case of ZSI drought index, it is analyzed that the number of occurrences and the comparison with the past cases are inferior in reproducibility. For the meteorological drought index using precipitation, it would be effective to use the SPI drought index with the highest reproducibility and the past drought case.

Factors Associated with Body Mass Index(BMI) Among Older Adults: A Comparison Study of the U.S., Japan, and Korea (노인의 체질량지수에 관련된 요인 연구: 미국, 일본, 한국 비교를 중심으로)

  • This study examined BMI distributions among older adults in three different countries: the U.S., Japan, and Korea. The paper also explored differences in the factors predicting BMI in the three countries using three data sets: the U.S. Longitudinal Study of Aging (LSOA II, 8,589 persons), the Nihon University Japanese Longitudinal Study of Aging (NUJLSOA, 2,888 persons), and the Korean Longitudinal Study of Ageing (KLoSA, 2,397 persons). Descriptive analysis and multiple regression were performed. Japanese older adults were somewhat lighter than Koreans with fewer people at the upper end of the BMI distribution. Distributions of BMI among both Koreans and Japanese are shifted leftward relative to Americans. There is less dispersion in the distribution of BMI for Koreans and Japanese than among Americans. The association between socioeconomic variables and BMI is stronger in the U.S. and Japan than in Korea. Demographic variables are strong predictors of BMI in Korea. In Japan, all health behaviors have significant effects on BMI. It is concluded that the relationships between behavioral, demographical, and socioeconomic factors and BMI are not the same across countries. Results have policy implications for the involvement of health practitioners in helping older adults to control weight.

Impact Characteristics of Multi-Density Insoles for DM Shoes (당뇨화 다밀도 안창의 충격특성)

  • Impact characteristics of six DM(Diabetes Mellitus) shoe insole materials (Podian, Plastazote black, Plastazote white, Flexible PU foam, Podialene 200 blue and Podia flex) and three multi-density insoles (AP, OS and PW insoles) were determined in the present study, using a self-designed impact measurement system. The coefficient of restitution, the median frequency and the attenuation index were calculated for each material, based on impact forces and linear accelerations. Podian revealed the superiority in the coefficient of restitution and the attenuation index. The median frequency of the Flexible PU foam was the smallest. Results also showed that the heel region was the most impact-attenuated among other areas in the insole. OS insole showed the better characteristics in the coefficient of restitution and the median frequency. but there was no significant difference in the attenuation index. Similar impact characteristics were found in all areas in PW insole. since it was basically of the same dual-density polyurethane.

Species Diversity Analysis of the Mushroom in Mt. Chiak (치악산 발생 버섯의 종 다양성 비교 분석)

  • The mushrooms collected at seven areas of Mt. Chiak in 2002 and 2003 were classified to analyse the distribution and species diversity. Frequency (number of mushroom : N), number of species (S), relative species density (RSD), similarity index (C), richness index (R1), variety index (V1), evenness index (E2), and dominance index(D1) were investigated. Total N and S was 143 and 84, respectively. The RSD was 0.179 ~ 0.226 of the 7 areas. The yearly C of the total area (0.213) was 8.2%. more higher than the average C of 7 areas (0.131). The order in the coefficient of variation (CV) of the indicator for 7 areas was N (10.5%) > D1 (9.2%) > V1 (8.9%) > S (8.5%) > R1 (7.4%) > E2 (2.2%). The average R1 of the 7 areas was 5.36 with the range from 4.85 to 6.01, and 16.72 for the total area. The average V1 of the 7 areas was 16.24 with the range from 14.44 to 18.66, and 68.82 for the total area. The average E2 of the 7 areas was 0.95 with the range from 0.926 to 0.982, and 0.819 for the total area. The average D1 of the 7 areas was 0.071 with the range from 0.055 to 0.073, and 0.081 for the total area. The correlation between N and 5 kinds of diversity indicator (S, R1, V1, E2, D) was not statistically significant, but the correlation between R1, E2 and D1 was statistically significant each other.

Studies on the evaluation of efficacy of functional cosmetics(I) -Studies on the in vitro SPF test method of sunscreen products (기능성화장품의 기능성평가에 관한 연구(I) -자위선차단화장품의 in vitro 시험법 연구)

  • The present study was undertaken to develop the in vitro sunprotection factor(SPF) measurement method having good correlation with in vivo method. As in vitro method, 8% homomentyl salicylate, P3 reference standard and sunscreens on market were measured using SPF 290 analyzer and were compared the SPF with labed value. In vitro SPF of 8% HMS and P3 reference standard were 4.59 $\pm$ 0.12 and 14.94 $\pm$ 0.83. There are good correlation, correlation factor were 0.9506 and 0.9769 respectively, between the in vitro and in vivo SPF for the sunscreen creams and lotions examined. Correlation factors of makeup base & liquid goundation, lotion labled with “shake before use”, compact powder were 0.8812, 0.8632 and 0.5984. The best sample applied method of compact powder was 1:0.8 mixture with cream base. These results suggest that the in vitro test method could be used as an alternative method for SPF.
