Correction of Pseudo-Dynamic Test by Equivalent Energy Compensation (등가에너지 보상을 통한 유사동적 실험의 보정)

  • The Pseudo-dynamic test is a new experimental technique for simulating the earthquake response of structures or structural components in the time domain. It is especially efficient for testing specimens that are too large, heavy or strong to be tested on a shaking table. But, in general, the responses obtained in the Pseudo-dynamic test can be distorted by the experimental errors inevitably during control and measurement procedures. The studies are to investigate the effects of the experimental errors on the Pseudo-dynamic responses and apply a correction method to the Pseudo-dynamic testing algorithm. It is shown that the corrected responses using the equivalent energy compensation method are in a good correlation with the theoretical ones. Thus, the corrected Pseudo-dynamic responses could be reliable for evaluating the seismic performance of structural systems.

  • This paper describes a series of shaking table and pseudodynamic tests for evaluation of seismic performance of base-isolated structures subjected to various seismic earthquake inputs. The main objectives of this study are : (1) evaluation of the effectiveness of base-isolation systems for low-rise structures against severe seismic loads through shaking table tests, (2) verification of the substructuring pseudodynamic test method for the base-isolated structures in comparison with the shaking table test results. In the shaking table test, a quarter scaled three-story structure base-isolated by laminated rubber bearings is tested. In the pseudodynamic test, only the laminated rubber bearing s are tested using the substructuring technique, while the concurrent seismic responses of the superstructure are computed using on-line numerical integration. Comparison with the shaking table test results indicates that the substructuring pseudodynamic test method is very effective for determining the dynamic responses of the base-isolated structure.

  • There are number of methods that track the movement of an object or the change of state, such as Kalman filter, particle filter, dynamic clustering, and so on. Amongst these method, dynamic clustering method is an useful way to track cluster across multiple data frames and analyze their trend. In this paper we suggest the similarity-based dynamic clustering method, and verifies it's performance by simulation. Proposed dynamic clustering method is how to determine the same clusters for each continuative frame. The same clusters have similar characteristics across adjacent frames. The change pattern of cluster's characteristics in each time frame is throughly studied. Clusters in each time frames are matched against each others to see their similarity. Mamdani fuzzy model is used to determine similarity based matching algorithm. The proposed algorithm is applied to radar reflectivity data over time domain. We were able to observe time dependent characteristic of the clusters.

  • Base-isolated liquid storage tanks under seismic loading were tested by the Pseudo-dynamic test method. Substructuring technique in which a mixed integration method was adopted and the liquid tanks were simply modeled as a discrete system. This study gave experimental verification on the advantage of mounting the liquid tanks on base isolators in order to reduce the hydrodynamic forces on the tank wall.

  • 기존의 여러 동적 추천 시스템에서 사용자들의 브라우징 패턴을 반영하려고 노력하였다 .그러나 대부분의 동적 추천 시스템들은 웹 문서들의 형식이나 웹 문서들 간의 연관성을 고려하지 않고, 사용자들의 브라우징 패턴에만 근거하기 때문에 연관성이 없거나 의미 없는 웹 문서들에 대한 추천까지 제공하는 문제점을 지니고 있다. 본 논문에서는 웹 문서들 사이의 유사도와 로그 파일 안에 들어있는 사용자들이 패턴을 이용하여 웹 문서 자체의 형식에 따라 연관된 웹 문서뿐만 아니라 순차적인 특성을 가진 웹 문서를 추천 문서로 제공한다. 이때 추천 웹 문서의 형식이 탐색 페이지이면 사용자 브라우징 순차 패턴 DB 중에서 사용자들이 자주 항해하는 순차적인 특성을 갖는 웹 문서까지 제공하는 동적 추천 시스템을 제안한다.

Pseudo Dynamic Test for the Seismic Performance Enhancement of Circular RC Bridge Piers Retrofitted with Fibers (섬유보강 원형 철근콘크리트 교각의 내진성능 향상에 관한 유사동적 실험)

  • The objective of this experimental research is to assess the seismic performance of circular RC bridge pier specimens retrofitted with fibers which were designed as a prototype of Hagal bridge in the city of Suwon, Korea. Pseudo dynamic test has been done for four(4) test specimens which were nonseismically or seismically designed by the related provisions of the Korea roadway bridge design specification, and four nonseisemic test specimens retrofitted with fibers in the plastic hinge region. Glass and carbon fiber sheets were used for the seismic capacity enhancement of circular test specimens. Important test parameters were confinement steel ratio, load pattern, and retrofitting. The seismic behavior has been analyzed through the displacement ductility, energy analysis, and capacity spectrum. Approximate 7.7 ∼8.7 displacement ductility was observed for nonseismic test specimens retrofitted with fibers subjected to Korea Highway Cooperation artificial earthquake motions. It is concluded that these retrofitted test specimens could have sufficient seismic capacity in the region of moderate seismic zone.

ON-LINE PSEUDO-DYNAMIC NETWORK TESTING ON BASE-ISOLATED BRIDGE USING INTERNET AND WIRELESS INTERNET (유무선 인터넷을 이용한 면진 교량의 온라인 네트워크 실험)

  • 본 논문에서는 한국과 일본에 위치한 여러 연구기관들 사이에서 수행된 온라인 네트워크 유사동적 실험결과에 대해 나타내었다. 예제 구조물로는 4경간 연속의 면진 교량을 이용하였다. 실험 장비를 보유하고있는 두 연구기관에서 면진 장치의 비선형 거동에 대한 실험을 수행하고 각 실험 결과를 조합하여 전체구조의 동적 해석을 수행하였다. 본 논문에서는 먼저 인터넷을 이용한 두 가지 데이터 전송기법을 이용하여 두 기법의 효율성을 비교, 분석하였다. 또한 최근 국내에 위치한 두 연구기관 사이에서 수행된 실험 결과에 대해 논의하였다. 마지막으로 유선과 무선 인터넷을 이용한 온라인 실험 기법에 대하여 나타내었다. 그 결과, 온라인 네트워크 실험에 소요된 실험 시간은 데이터 전송 기법과 실험장비에 따라 매 시간 단계의 데이터 전송에 0.2-15초, 각 연구기관의 유사동적 실험에 1-10초의 시간이 소요되어 매우 큰 폭으로 변화함을 알 수 있었다. 또한 무선 인터넷을 이용한 온라인 실험의 경우, 뛰어난 이동성과 인터넷 보안성 등과 같은 여러 가지 장점을 가지고 있음을 알 수 있었다.

Pseudo-Dynamic Test for the Bridges Retrofitted with Laminated Rubber Bearings (적층고무받침으로 내진보강된 교량의 유사동적실험)

  • Many highway bridges in Korea need seismic retrofit because only one decade has passed since the seismic design criteria was introduced. For the highway bridges of which bearings are worn and dysfunctional, the validity of seismic retrofit method using laminated rubber bearings was discussed in this study. Real scale RC pier specimens without seismic details were constructed. And then, Pot bearing, Rubber bearing (RB), Lead-rubber bearing (LRB) were applied to these specimens. Through pseudo dynamic test method, dynamic behavior of these RC piers under earthquake was simulated and compared. From the test results, proposed seismic retrofit method was found to be valid.

  • Collaborative filtering method for personalization can suggest new items and information which a user hasn t expected. But there are some problems. Not only the steps for calculating similarity value between each user is complex but also it doesn t reflect user s interest dynamically when a user input a query. In this paper, classifying users by their interest makes calculating similarity simple. We propose the a1gorithm for readjusting user s interest dynamically using the profile and Bayesian learning. When a user input a keyword searching for a item, his new interest is readjusted. And the user s profile that consists of used key words and the presence frequency of key words is designed and used to reflect the recent interest of users. Our methods of adjusting user s interest using the profile and Bayesian learning can improve the real satisfaction of users through the experiment with data set, collected in University s library. It recommends a user items which he would be interested in.

A comparative study on the behavior of dynamic analysis and pseudo-static analysis considering SSI of a tall building and an adjacent underground structure (초고층 빌딩과 인접 지하구조물의 SSI를 고려한 동적해석과 유사정적해석의 거동 비교 연구)

  • Recently, earthquakes have occurred near Gyeongju and Pohang and the social demands are thus being increased for seismic analysis of tall buildings and their adjacent underground structure in big cities. Since most of the previous seismic analysis studies considered a tall building and an adjacent underground structure separately, however, they lack the analysis on dynamic mutual behavior between two structures. Therefore, in this study, a dynamic analysis with a full soil-structure interaction was performed for a complex underground facility with a tall building and an adjacent underground structure constructed on the bedrock with a surface layer. To improve the reliability, in particular, a pseudo-static analysis was performed and compared with the dynamic analysis results. It is comprehensively concluded that the analysis of adjacent underground structures being considered is more conservative than that of not considered.
