The regional distribution and relative frequency of neurohormonal peptides-producing cells were demonstrated in the gut of the stomachless teleost, the Prussian carp, Carassius auratus Linnaeus, using 10 types of specific antisera raised against mammalian regulatory peptides. The gut of the Prussian carp was divided into five portions from proximal to distal (Segments I~V). Most of immunoreactive cells in the epithelial lining portion, between epithelial cells, were generally spherical or spindle shape having long cytoplasmic process that reached to the lumen (open typed cell) while cells showing round in shape (close typed cell) were found in the basal portions of epithelial lining occasionally. Somatostatin-, cholecystokinin (CCK)-8- and pancreatic polypeptide (PP)- immunoreactive cells were observed in this study. However, no serotonin-, glucagon-, chromogranin A-, secretin-, vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP)-, substance P- and bombesin-immunoreactive cells were found. Somatostatin-immunoreactive cells were restricted to most proximal segments of the gut (Segment I) with rare frequency and CCK-8-immunoreactive cells were demonstrated in the proximal segments of the gut (Segments I and II) with a few to rare frequencies. In addition, pancreatic polypeptide-immunoreactive cells were demonstrated in the proximal to middle segments (Segments I~III) with moderated to rare frequencies. In conclusion, the distribution and relative frequency of these immunoreactive cells are well corresponded to the previous reports in stomachless teleost but somewhat peculiar patterns are also detected.
A prototype of closed-type transplant production system(CTTPS) with fully environmental control was developed to produce massively quality transplants. Four photosynthetic photon flux(PPF) levels of 200,300,400 and 500$\mu$mol . m$^{-2}$ .s$^{-1}$ , four photoperiod levels of 1816 h,12/12h, 9/15 h and 6/18 h were provided to analyze the growth and development of cucumber plug seedlings(Cucumis sativus L., cv. Kyuewosalichungiang) as affected by PPF and photoperiod in a CTTPS. Effect of photoperiod on the growth and development of cucumber plug seedlings produced in a CTTPS was higher than PPF, Stem diameters dry weight of shoot and roots number of leaves, leaf with and length, and SPAD value of cucumber plug seedlings produced in a CTTPS were significantly high as compared to the control. But stem length of plug seedlings produced in a CTTPS was shorter than those of the control. Growth characteristics of cucumber plug seedlings raised at photoperiod of 6/18 h and PPF of 200$\mu$mol . m$^{-2}$ .s$^{-1}$ were similar to the those of the control. These results suggest that cucumber quality transplant can be produced at relatively short photoperiod and low PPF, It means that the electric energy consumed for the production of cucumber plug seedlings in a CTTPS can be saved.

The pupose of this study was to identify the material characteristics, firing environments and making techniques for the jar coffins from the Oryangdong kiln site and the Ungokdong tomb site in Naju. All jar coffins had very similar physical, mineralogical and geochemical characteristics, although it was excavated from the different sites. The wall thickness of the jar coffins was about 2.3 to 5.3 cm. Under the microscopy, the jar coffins include a large quantity of various quartz with some microcrystalline and showed partly orthoclase and biotite. It is presumed that the mineral sherds added to maintain the thick wall and to control the percentage of contraction during drying and firing of jar coffins and it has contained about 11.4 to 19.8 %. Firing temperature of the jar coffins is estimated as 1,000 to $1,150^{\circ}C$. Also, all jar coffins and soils show similar geochemical behavior of elements and clay-mineralization degree within the site. This indicates making that the soil is probable to be a raw material of the jar coffins. But it shows different characteristics in major elements of soils which is collected at the kiln floor and the trench region of the Oryangdong kiln site because of the lack of quartz and feldspar in the soils. Therefore, it can use of the jar coffins making clay, if it goes through a simple special process such as mixing temper.

Yellow to reddish brown soil is generally referred to as hwangto and is used in various industries in Korea. Despite the fact that it is used as an inorganic pigment in dancheong, limited studies have been conducted on the properties of pigments associated with soil and on the mineralogical characteristics of hwangto. This study examines how the pedological and mineralogical features of hwangto affect pigment properties. Results indicate that reddish and yellowish soils have differences in terms of soil texture, mineral composition, oil absorption and stability under light. Reddish soil is mostly found in clay regions, whereas Ulleungdo hwangto is found in loam regions. Yellowish soil is mostly present in the clay loam to loam zones. whereas Haenam hwangto exists in the sandy clay loam zone. As a result of a mineralogical analysis, reddish soil is classified into the feldspar group and clay soil. The major minerals in the yellowish soils are similar however these soils differ in terms of clay mineral compositions. results of the characteristics of pigments prepared by the traditional method revealed that the average particle size is in the range of 10-20 ㎛, reddish soil has an average of 20 ml/100 g higher oil absorption than yellowish soil. In addition, reddish soil is more susceptible to discoloration and deterioration under light than yellowish soil. This study confirms that the soil and mineral characteristics of hwangto affect the physical properties and stability of produced pigments. These result can be used as basic data in future studies natural inorganic pigments using hwangto.
Shape features in a content-based image retrieval (CBIR) system are divided into two classes: contour-based and region-based. Contour-based shape features are simple but they are not as efficient as region-based shape features. Most systems using the region-based shape feature have to extract the region firs t. The prior works on region-based systems still have shortcomings. They are complex to implement, particularly with respect to region extraction, and do not sufficiently use the spatial relationship between regions in the distance model In this paper, a region extraction method that is the combination of an edge-based method and a region growing method is proposed to accurately extract regions inside an object. Edges inside an object are accurately detected based on the Canny edge detector and the Hough transform. And the modified Integrated Region Matching (IRM) scheme which includes the adjacency relationship of regions is also proposed. It is used to compute the distance between images for the similarity search using shape features. The experimental results show the effectiveness of our region extraction method as well as the modified IRM. In comparison with other works, it is shown that the new region extraction method outperforms others.
This paper discusses an effective processing of subsequence matching under time warping in time-series databases. Time warping is a trans-formation that enables finding of sequences with similar patterns even when they are of different lengths. Through a preliminary experiment, we first point out that the performance bottleneck of Naive-Scan, a basic method for processing of subsequence matching under time warping, is on the CPU processing step. Then, we propose a novel method that optimizes the CPU processing step of Naive-Scan. The proposed method maximizes the CPU performance by eliminating all the redundant calculations occurring in computing the time warping distance between the query sequence and data subsequences. We formally prove the proposed method does not incur false dismissals and also is the optimal one for processing Naive-Scan. Also, we discuss the we discuss to apply the proposed method to the post-processing step of LB-Scan and ST-Filter, the previous methods for processing of subsequence matching under time warping. Then, we quantitatively verify the performance improvement ef-fects obtained by the proposed method via extensive experiments. The result shows that the performance of all the three previous methods im-proves by employing the proposed method. Especially, Naive-Scan, which is known to show the worst performance, performs much better than LB-Scan as well as ST-Filter in all cases when it employs the proposed method for CPU processing. This result is so meaningful in that the performance inversion among Nive- Scan, LB-Scan, and ST-Filter has occurred by optimizing the CPU processing step, which is their perform-ance bottleneck.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of health program s on hypertension in a public health center located in Y-si. Most interesting were the effects on hypertension-related knowledge, self-care behavior, quality of life, and physiological parameters for hypertensive patients. Nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design was employed. A total of 48 patients with hypertension living in Y-si were assigned to either the experimental group (n=23) or the control group (n=25). The experimental group was provided with an 8-week health program on hypertension between August 31 and October 23 in 2015. Data were analyzed with SPSS/WIN 21.0 using descriptive statistics, ${\chi}^2$-test, Fisher's exact test, and t-test. The result indicated a significant difference between the experimental group and the control group with respect to the scores of hypertension-related knowledge (t=-3.76, p<.001), self-care behavior (t=-3.33, p=.002), physiological parameters, including systolic blood pressure (t=6.27, p<.001) and diastolic blood pressure (t=4.70, p<.001), total cholesterol levels (t=3.08, p=.003), and Abdominal circumference (t=2.52, p=.015). We conclude that the self-group program on hypertension has a significant effect on the change of hypertension-related knowledge and self-care behavior for hypertensive patients.
In this paper we present an efficient solution to rotation?invariant boundary image matching. Computing the rotation-invariant distance between image time-series is a time-consuming process since it requires a lot of Euclidean distance computations for all possible rotations. In this paper we propose a novel solution that significantly reduces the number of distance computations using the envelope-based lower bound. To this end, we first present how to construct a single envelope from a query sequence and how to obtain a lower bound of the rotation-invariant distance using the envelope. We then show that the single envelope-based lower bound can reduce a number of distance computations. This approach, however, may cause bad performance since it may incur a larger lower bound by considering all possible rotated sequences in a single envelope. To solve this problem, we present a concept of rotation interval, and using the rotation interval we generalize the envelope-based lower bound by exploiting multiple envelopes rather than a single envelope. We also propose equi-width and envelope minimization divisions as the method of determining rotation intervals in the multiple envelope approach. Experimental results show that our envelope-based solutions outperform existing solutions by one or two orders of magnitude.
