Purpose: We explored the mydriatic effects of injected intracameral epinephrine after phacoemulsification (PE) combined with phacovitrectomy to treat proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR). Methods: We enrolled 96 patients (96 eyes) who underwent phacovitrectomy to treat PDR; we used ImageJ software to measure pupil sizes and the ratios of pupil to cornea area (PCA) before and after PE and after pars plana vitrectomy (PPV). We compared pupil sizes between those who received intracameral epinephrine (0.001% w/v) after PE but before PPV (study group, 46 eyes) and patients not so treated (control group, 50 eyes). Results: The PCA ratios of the study group were $0.52{\pm}0.11$ before PE, $0.43{\pm}0.12$ after PE, and $0.51{\pm}0.11$ after PPV, respectively. Changes in pupil size were significant (p < 0.001, p < 0.001 respectively). The PCA ratios of the control group were $0.52{\pm}0.10$ before PE, $0.39{\pm}0.15$ after PE, and $0.43{\pm}0.15$ after PPV, respectively. Changes in pupil size after PE were significant (p = 0.011) but the change after PPV was not (p = 0.056). Conclusions: Intracameral epinephrine given after PE but before PPV effectively dilates the pupils during phacovitrectomy to treat PDR.

기록이 없는 과거 역사에 대한 연구는 문화재라는 간접적인 자료를 통하여 이루어지고 있다. 지금까지의 문화재 연구는 외형적인 특성을 연구하는 고고학이나 미술사의 분야만으로 국한하였으나 점차 내형적인 특성을 연구하는 과학적인 분석기술도 다양하게 응용되고 있다. 문화재의 특성적 성분을 분석하여 원료, 제작방법, 시대, 그리고 지역으로 그룹화한다면 문화재의 특성과 함께 지역, 시대에 따른 문화적 형태와 수준, 그리고 문화의 유입 경로 등에 대한 자료를 제시할 수 있다. 분 연구에서는 유리나 도자기 유약 등의 문화재를 분석할 경우에 대한 SEM-EDS의 정량분석 조건들을 설정하고 경남 김해 양동리고분에서 출토된 고대 유리구슬에 대하여 직접 적용하여 보았다. 분석 결과, 매장되었던 고대 유리에서는 풍화층이 존재하며 이에 대한 분석조건과 정량분석의 문제점들을 고찰하였다. 이를 기초로 하여 적용한 양동리고분의 유리구슬은 알칼리계 유리로 칼리계 유리는 AD 1C, 소다계 유리는 AD 2C말$\sim$3C초부터 나타난 것으로 추정된다. 그리고 유리의 색상은 전이금속 동(Cu), 철(Fe), 그리고 망간(Mn)의 함유량과 밀접한 관계가 있음을 보인다. 이 분석 결과에 따라 고대 유리구슬의 성분 함유량이 원료, 색상, 유구편년, 그리고 지역에 따라 그룹이 형성될 수 있음을 확인하였다.

폐기물의 양이 급격히 증가하고 있는 현재, 국내는 물론이고 전 세계적으로 자원의 고갈에 대한 심각성을 인식하고 폐기물을 재활용하여 가능자원으로 만들기 위한 방법을 모색하고 연구하는 등 미래자원을 확보하기 위한 노력을 꾸준히 하고 있다. 하지만, 폐철, 폐지, 폐플라스틱, 폐유, 폐타이어 등의 폐기물에 대해서는 많은 관심을 가지고 재활용 기술을 연구하는 등 그 중요성에 대해 인식하고 있는 반면, 유리제품의 재활용에 대해서는 그 중요성이 인식되지 못했다. 그래서 월간 ‘재활용’지에서는 폐유리병 재활용 현황, 기술 등에 관한 특집기사와 더불어 유리제품 재활용에 대한 인식을 고취시키기 위해 현장의 목소리를 듣고자 유리재생원료(cullet)를 생산하는 쎄로라인을 찾아 업체탐장 코너에 소개한다.

밤나무산누에나방(Dictyploca japonica)의 아미노산을 paper chromatogrphy법을 이용하여 용에서 난까지 정성적으로 분석하였다. 1. 분석 결과 19 종의 유리아미노산이 검출되었으며 각 stage는 유리아미노산의 정성적 pattern의 변동을 보였다. 2. Serine은 전 stage에서 높은 농도로 검출되었다. 3. 유리아미노산의 정류수는 종류수는 나방이의 발생과 더불어 증가하고 일반적으로 male 보다는 female 에 있어서 그 수가 많았다. 4. Tryptophane은 각 stage에서 전연 검출되지 않았다.

In the present study, the distribution of glass particles inside 10 patrol cars of Chungnam Province has been studied. The target seats were front seats (driver’s seat, passenger’s seat) and the back seat. The target areas were the bottom of the seat (seat contacting buttocks, back of the seat, and the corner of the seat (the bottom and back attached part)). The target areas were tape lifted with an adhesive tape. The glass particles adhering to the adhesive tape were examined and counted under a stereomicroscope. The total number of glass particles found was 679. Among them, 471 (driver’s seat 293, passenger seat 178) were collected from front seats, which are usually occupied by police officers. The majority of glass particles were under 0.49 mm size. The results show that the majority of glass particles can be found on the front seats, rather than on the back seat. There is a high probability that glass particles found on the front seat adhere to police officers, so that to get further transferred to the convict upon physical contact (secondary transfer). Thus, there is a risk of misinterpretation of the value of glass evidence in the course of forensic examinations. Hence, a separate method to prevent cross contamination has to be prepared by police authorities as soon as possible.

고분자 물질은 저분자량의 유기 단량체들이 화학 공유 결합으로 연속적으로 연결된 거대 분자 구조를 갖는다. 고분자 사슬로 연결된 단량체들은 힘의 장 의 지배하에 열에너지에 따라 지속적으로 운동을 한다. 이와같은 단량체들의 운동은 국부적으로 제한되나 온도가 증가되어 유리 전이온도 이상이 되면 분자전체에 상당하는 운동으로 발전하게 된다. 이때 소음 및 진동 에너지는 효과적으로 흡수되어 열에너지로 발산된다. 본고에서는 유리 전이온도에서의 고분자 재료의 특성가 실제 소음 및 진도제어시 고려해야할 고분자 재료의 특성에 관해 알아본다.

얼마전 온라인 게임 개발업체인 유리텍의 계정거래 허용방침이 발표되면서 온라인 상에는 계정 및 아이템의 현금 거래에 대한 찬반 논쟁이 뜨겁다. 수년 전부터 계속된 계정 및 아이템의 현금거래 문제는 게임사들의 허용불가 방침에도 불구하고 오히려 거래 시장규모가 더욱 커지고 있는 상황이다. 특히 지난해 아이템 거래 수수료 시장규모가 1500억원대에 이른 것으로 집계되면서 일각에선 유리텍과 같이 현금거래를 양성화하자는 의견도 커져가고 있다. 온라인 상에서 다시 한번 불붙은 계정 및 아이템 거래에 대한 문제를 살펴봤다.

Coral damselfish (demoiselle), Chromis notatus, has been one of the most tasty sea foods in Jeju-Do, Korea, The free amino acids in tile extracts of Chromis notatus were analysed by amino acid autoanalyser. In the extracts, taurine, lysine, glycine and alanine were abundant, holding $30.3\%,\;22.7\%,\;16.0\%\;,\;11.5\%$ of total amino acid content, respectively and followed threonine, glutamic acid and serine, in order. While methionine, histidine, leucine, isoleucine, valine were poor and aspartic acid and proline were trace in content.

LaF, KzFS1, LBO glass were manufactured successfully by using platinum crucible in LaF and using clay crucible in the KzFS1 and LBO. There was optically transparent and the refractive indexes were measured by minum deviation method of prism. LaF, KzFS1, LBO show that the refrective indexes are $n_d$ = 1.770 in LaF, $n_d$ = 1.603 in KzFS1, $n_d$ = 1.560 in LBO. The transmittance were obtained that LaF has 85%, and KzFS1 has 83% and LBO has 89% in visible range. These glasses have no any absorption spectrum under visible range. Therefore it has no any color.
