Analysis of the relationship between composition and viscosity of soda-lime glass bottles (소다석회유리병의 조성과 점도의 상관관계 분석)

  • Forty Viscosity data of glass bottles fabricated in a glass bottle manufacturing plant for 4 years were calculated using Lakatos model. The relationship between the glass bottle compositions and viscosities at log η of 3, 6.6, 10 and 12.3 Pa·s was analyzed. MgO that was a component of the glass bottle showed the maximum coefficient of variation of 0.89, but it gave a very small change in the viscosity. CaO that was another component of the glass bottle lowered the isokom temperature because it tended to reduce the number of non-bridging oxygen at temperature below a softening point.

  • The compositions of amino acid in the protein and total fatty acid of Dendrolimus spectabilis were analyzed quantitatively by HPLC and GC, respectively. The contents of crude oil and protein from the extracts were 21.00% and 58.47%, respectively. The amount of free amino acids in the protein was 3.65g/100g, and 1.31g/100g of essential amino acids was contained in the free amino acids. The amount of total amino acids in the protein was 41.20g/100g, and 14.75g/100g of essential amino acids were contained in the total amino acid. The compositions of fatty acid in the oil were $C_{18}$=26.81%, $C_{16}$=19.09%, $C_{18:1}$=18.74%, $C_{18:3}$=15.33%, $C_{16:1}$=7.29%, $C_{20}$=5.21% in order, respectively. 45.88% of unsaturated fatty acids were contained in the oil.

  • At the previous papers, we showed that ${K_2}O$-CaO-${P_2}{O_5}$ glasses had a solubility in air so that they could be used for glass fertilizer. In this work, we fabricated the Eco-glass fertilizer containing trace elements of B, Mg, Zn, Fe, Cu, Co, Mo, the needed micronutrients for plants to grow, by a melt-quenching process. The dissolution properties in these glasses were investigated with a pH meter and an ICP analyzer. The trace elements doped glasses showed similar behavior in dissolutions and stability properties with the mother glass without containing trace elements. In addition, the dissolution amount of each trace elements depends on the mother glass composition and the quantity of each trace elements, which determine the dissolving velocity of chemical elements.

  • For the synthesis of crystalline LAS glass by sol-gel method, the effect of operation conditions including metal alkoxide ratio, nucleating agent composition and heat treatment on the crystalline properties was experimentally investigated. The gelation time and crystallization temperature were proportionally affected by the mole ratio of TEOS in metal alkoxides solution. The addition of $TiO_2$ had an influence on the increasing of the gelation time, but the crystallization temperature was rarely dependent on the adding of nucleating agent. The crystallinity of LAS glass was improved by the nucleating agent under same heat treatment conditions.

  • In order to vitrify the Ion-Exchange Resin(IER), Dry Active Waste(DAW), and borate concentrate generated from the commercial nuclear facilities, the glass formulation study based on the their compositions was performed. Two glasses named as RG-1 and DG-1 were formulated as the candidate glasses for the vitrification of hte IER and DAW, respectively. A glass named as MG-1 was also formulated as a candidate glass for the vitrification of the mixed wastes containing the IER, DAW, and borate concentrate. The process parameters, product qualities, and economics were evaluated for the candidate glasses and confirmed experimentally for the some properties. The glass viscosity and electrical conductivity as the process parameters were in the desired ranges. the product qualities such as glass density, chemical durability, phase stability, etc. were satisfactory. In case of vitrifying the wastes using our developed glass formulation study, the volume reduction factors for the IER, DAW and mixed wastes were evaluated as 21, 89 and 75, respectively.

  • Changes in fatty acids and free amino acids of raw .ed tongue sole (RRT) and dried red tongue sole (SRT). were analyzed after steaming, boiling, or baking. 1. RRT was composed of moisture 78.4%, ash 1.2%, crude lipid 1.1%, and crude protein 18.3%. 2. The main fatty acid of RRT and SRT were palmitic acid (21.5%) and lignoceric acid (43.1%) which cover 64.5% of total fatty acid. Steamed RRT or SRT had higher content of fatty acids than boiled or baked ones. 3. The main free amino acids of RRT or SRT were glutamic acid (14.9%), aspartic acid (12.2%), Iysine (10%), leucine (8.4%), and arginine (6.8%) covering more than 52.3% of total free amino acids.

Composition of Free Amino Acids and Essential Oils in Root of Anthriscus sylvestylis (전조 뿌리의 유리 아미노산과 정유 성분 조성)

  • The study was carried out to find compositions of proximate components, free amino acid, and essential oils from root of Anthriscus sylvestylis. Proximate component contents were 7.69% for protein, 1.74% for fat, 2.44% for fiber, and 3.76% for ash. Extract content was 27.68% in fresh root. The compositions of free amino acids consisted 16 kinds. Phenylalanine content was the highest in composition of free amino acids. The essential oils of the root of Anthriscus sylvestylis was examined. $\alpha$-pinene, campreol, ,$\beta$-pinene, sabinene, myrcene, phellandrene, $\alpha$-terpinolene, d-limone, ${\gamma}$-terpinene, p-cymene, $\alpha$-terpinolene, carboxaldehyde, 3-cyc1ohexen-l-carboxaldehyde, 2-nonenal, isobornyl acetate, 4-terpineol, $\beta$-bisabolene, cis-piperitol, p-cymen-8-ol, BHT, methyl eugenol and 2-methoxy-4-vinyl-phenol were identified from the diethylether layers. Recovery yield of essential oils of Anthriscus sylvestylis of root was 0.58%. As a result, it was considered that the plant is worthy of cultivating as spice and medicinal crops.

  • In order to improve the chemical durability of glass in the $Na_2O$-CaO-$SiO_2$ system, it was investigated in the effect of $B_2O_3$ and ZnO addition and changing amount of each composition, $Na_2O$, $Al_2O_3$, $Li_2O$.   • An estimation method of glass viscosity using Lakatos model is one of the best way to calculate the viscosity of soda-lime glass. The glass viscosity is obtained by inputting a glass composition consisting of SiO2, Al2O3, Na2O, K2O, CaO and MgO to the Lakatos model. A series of composition of glass bottles was obtained once a month for 10 months from a soda-lime glass bottle fabrication line and isokom temperatures at the viscosity of log η = 3, 6.6, 10 and 12.3 were calculated. It was found that the isokom temperature at log η = 3 and log η = 6.6 was closely related to the value of (Si+Al)/O and 1/Na, respectively.
