The Shiwhaho is an artificial lake located in Yellow sea of Korea where the ocean tidal current is significantly strong, and the tidal power plant is currently being under construction to generate electric power from the ocean tidal current. In addition to the tidal power plant under construction, an ocean current power park was proposed to maximize the power generation by utilizing the ocean current generated by the tidal power plant. To evaluate the feasibility of such combined power plant, the flow characteristics in the ocean current power parks connected with the tidal power plants were investigated numerically in the present study. When two different type of generations are operating together as a system, their interference may occur, which affects their efficiency. Therefore, the minimum distances between the tidal power plants and the ocean current power generators are studied in the present study to minimize such interference. The feasible region to generate power around the Shiwha tide embankment is also predicted by considering predicted ocean current speed distribution. Various arrangements of the ocean current generators are examined and an optimal arrangement is also discussed.

A laboratory experiment was made of critical transition flow modes in Czocllralski convection. Numerical computation was also made to delineate the dynamic transition. The period of temperature oscillation ($t_p$) and the interval of temperature oscillation ($\Delta\theta$) were scrutinized to capture the critical transition regime. The mixed convection parameter was varied in the range of $0.134\le Ra/PrRe^2 \le3.804$. The data from calculation were in good agreement with ones from experiment. The influence of the Prandtl number on the transition was examined for Pr = 910, 4445 and 8889. To understand the transition mechanism, the detailed temperature oscillation modes, the isolines of meridional temperature and the axial velocity profiles were investigated.

This paper presents a quasi-analytical method using integral equations to obtain head distributions in unsaturated porous media with different hydrogeologic properties. One-dimensional soultion algorithms were developed for two cases of boundary conditions at the top: 1) constant head and 2) constant flux. Water table elevation at the bottom was assumed known for both cases. The methodology was applied to a fly ash disposal facility in an alluvium area. The results showed that the pressure head distributions had high nonlinearity with large gradients slightly above the interface of two media which made preliminary numerical solutions implausible. The developed method helped to structure finite element grids for improving convergence and accuracy.

A few Humidifier have vibration problems caused by velocity of flow, piping vibration and karman vortex. The crack is generated on pipe wall and humidifier are damaged. Vibration analysis is conducted to prevent pipe damage during the design. But the other problem are caused after analysis of vibration. Therefore in this paper, the vibration and static analysis have been measured and analyzed for pipes and curve. Also modal test is conducted for analysis of natural frequency.

The purpose of this research is to enhance the luminance of the LED and to improve the implementation of color by mounting an array lens on the LED without special technology in process. The workmanship of key components considering the economical efficiency and the injection molding technology for high quality of the product are essential to achieve it. In this paper, the mold was computer-aided was designed and manufactured by CAM software (NX4) and high speed machining center. the applied final machining conditions were 3,000-5,000mm/min feed speed, 15,000-25,000rpm and ${\Phi}0.3mm$ ball end-mill. And the Flow analysis was performed using the mold flow software(MPI) in order to get uniformity of resin. Injection conditions acquired by the flow analysis and the injection experiment are as follows. The cylinder temperature is $220-260^{\circ}C$, the mold temperature is $70-80^{\circ}C$, the injection time is about 1.2sec, the injection pressure and velocity is each 7.8-14.7Mpa, and the injection velocity is 0.8-1.2m/sec.
The steady-state, incompressible and three-dimensional numerical analysis was carried out to investigate the internal flow fields characteristics according to wind tunnel contraction type. The turbulence model used in this study is a realizable $k-{\varepsilon}$ modified from the standard $k-{\varepsilon}$ model. As a results, the distribution of the axial mean velocity components along the central axis of the flow model is very similar to the ASME and BE types, and the cubic and cosine types. When the flow passes through the interior space of the analytical models, the flow resistance at the inlet of the plenum chamber is the largest at BS type contraction, but the smallest at cubic type contraction. The boundary layer thickness is the smallest in the cosine type contraction as the axial distance increases. The maximum turbulent kinetic energy in the test section is the smallest in the order of the contraction of cubic type and cosine type. Comprehensively, cubic type contraction is the best choice for wind tunnel performance, and cosine type contraction can be the next best solution.
The present study focuses on the case of developing flow with in a channel containing a long array of sinusoidal waves (2a/${\lambda}$=0.1, ${\lambda}$=h, ${\lambda}$ is the wavelength, 2a is the wave height, h is the mean channel depth) at the bottom wall. The Reynolds number defined with channel height, h and the mean velocity, U, is Re=6,700. The channel is sufficiently long such that transition is completed and the flow is fully developed over the downstream half of the channel. For the case of an incoming steady flow with no resolved turbulence, the instantaneous flow fields in the transition region are characterized by the formation of arrays of highly-organized large-scale hairpin vortices whose dimensions scale with that of the roughness elements. The paper explains the mechanism for the formation of these arrays of hairpin vortices and shows these eddies play the primary role in the formation of the large-scale streaks of high and low velocity over the wavy wall region. The presence of resolved turbulence in the incoming flow, reduces the streamwise distance needed for the streaks to develop over the wavy region, but does not affect qualitatively the transition process. In the fully-developed region, isolated and trains of large-scale hairpins play an important role in the dynamics of the streaks over the wavy wall.

Pig chronic wasting disease, including porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS) and postweaning multisystemic wasting syndrome (PMWS), have made a continuous economic damage in pig farms. Airborne spread of livestock viruses are an important spread factor which is difficult to analyze due to invisible airflow and limitation of measurement. The objective of this study is to analyze airborne disease spread between buildings in the experimental pig farm by means of field experiment and computational fluid dynamics (CFD). The field experiments were conducted to capture airborne virus using air sampler and teflon filter along multi points in the experimental pig farm. The samples were tested in terms of virus detection resulting in positive reaction for PRRS and PCV-2 viruses, which can be a firm evidence of airborne virus spread. The CFD simulation model was developed by considering complex topography, wind conditions, building arrangement, and ventilation systems and was used to analyze airborne virus spread according to different wind conditions. The CFD computed result showed a possibility of airborne virus spread via livestock aerosol from infected pig house to neighboring pig houses according to wind directions. The CFD simulation technique is expected to provide significant data for estimating and making a counterplan against airborne disease spread.
Large eddy simulation(LES) methodology used to model the isothermal swirling flows in a dump combustor and the turbulent premixed flame in a model gas turbine combustor. The LES solver was implemented on parallel computer consisting 16 processors. In isothermal flow simulation, the results was compared with that of ${\kappa}-{\varepsilon}$ model as well as experimental data, in order to verify the capability of LES code. To model the turbulent premixed flame in a gas turbine, the G-equation flamelet model was used. The results showd that LES and RANS well predicted the mean velocity field of a non-swirling flow. However, in swirling flow, LES showed a better performance in predicting the mean axial and azimuthal velocities, and the central recirculation zone than those of RANS. In a model gas turbine combustor, the operation condition of high pressure and temperature induced the different phenomena, such as flame length and flow-field information, comparing with the condition of ambient pressure and temperature. Finally, it was identified that the flame and heat release oscillations are related to the vortex shedding generated by swirl flow and pressure wave propagation.
