Analyzing Accessibility of Emergency Shelters Based on Service Population: The Case of Outdoor Evacuation Places for Earthquake in Jung-gu, Seoul (생활인구를 고려한 대피시설 접근성 분석: 서울 중구지역 지진 옥외 대피장소를 사례로)

  • Purpose: This study analyzes accessibility of outdoor evacuation places for earthquake and the accessibility improvement effects when expanding the evacuation places in accessibility-deficient areas. In order to consider real-world evacuees, the accessibility analysis is based on service population not on resident population. Method: Location-allocation model as a GIS-based spatial optimization mode is used to analyze accessibility and vulnerable areas to evacuation places. Of location-allocation problem types, 'Maximize Coverage' method is chosen to allocate as many potential evacuees as possible to evacuation places. And impedence cutoffs or evacuation distances (times) are applied to three classes: 500m (7.5 minutes), 1,000m (15 minutes), and 1,500m (22.5 minutes). Case study area is Jung-gu areas, Seoul as a high-density downtown area. Result: Results show that accessibility-deficient areas and population to evacuation places are much more in service population than in resident population. Accessibility is significantly improved when increases when expanding the evacuation places in accessibility-deficient areas. Yet, accessibility-deficient areas are still remained since available lands are insufficient in the high-density downtown area. Conclusion: The study suggests that temporary evacuation facilities like outdoor evacuation places for earthquake need to consider real potential evacuees based not only on resident population but also on service population. Also, policy measures to provide emergency shelters need to more utilize spatial optimization tools like location-allocation model.

Analyzing Pedestrian Characteristics Using the Seoul Floating Population Survey: Focusing on 5 Urban Communities in Seoul (서울시 유동인구조사자료를 활용한 보행특성 분석: 서울시 5개 생활권역을 중심으로)

  • This paper analyzes and compares the pedestrian characteristics of 5 urban communities with 2012 Seoul floating population survey data. First of all, differences in total pedestrian volumes and time distribution of the volumes are compared across the 5 urban communities and the effects of pedestrian road properties are investigated. Then, we conduct a regression analysis to find factors influencing pedestrian volume according to the type of urban community and day of week. As results, the urban community had the greatest volume and the volume increased significantly at lunch time. Center bus lane, bus stop, and crosswalk lead to more trips in the urban community, while opposite patterns occurred in the other communities. Less slopes and commercial region areas caused more trips in all communities. Regression analysis results showed that a variety of variables including demographic indices, land use type and pedestrian road properties differently affect pedestrian volumes in individual urban communities. The research can be used as basic data to establish polices for pedestrian environment improvement.

  • 인구 밀집도가 높은 곳에서의 안전사고 대응과 이에 대한 예방을 위한 기술 및 해결 방안의 필요성이 증가하고 있다. 이를 위한 기존의 기술들은 지능형 CCTV 기반의 경고 알림을 울리는 방식과 스마트폰의 신호를 수집하여 유동인구를 측정하는 기술 등이 사용되고 있다. 그러나 군중 밀집 사고의 원인인 병목현상과 군중 난류 현상까지 대응하지는 못하는 문제점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 CCTV로부터 수집된 영상 정보만으로 딥러닝 영상인식 기술을 이용하여 병목현상이 일어나기 쉬운 출입구의 유·출입 인구 카운팅과 광장의 밀집도 분석을 디지털 트윈 기반으로 실시하고 이를 통해 위험 상황 발생 시 출입구의 통제와 대피를 위한 안내가 가능한 시스템을 제시한다. 제시하는 시스템은 유동 인구가 많고 인구의 급격한 밀집으로 인해 발생할 수 있는 안전사고의 예방과 이를 해결하기 위한 통제 및 안내를 위한 대처 방법으로 활용할 수 있다.

  • The advertisement using DID(Digital Information Display) has been a huge increase in many public spaces. Many company has been advertise their products through DID in recent. In this paper, we suggest more effective advertisement system on DID for advertisers. This system can provide a floating population, operation information and other useful informations for advertisement. The advertisers can choose and buy the advertisement that they want.

  • This study analyzes the effect of floating population, locational characteristics and spatial autocorrelation on foodservice sales using big data provided by the Seoul Institute. Although big data provided by public sector is growing recently, research difficulties are occurred due to the difference of aggregation units of data. In this study, the aggregation unit of a dependent variable, sales of foodservice is SKT unit but those of independent variables are various, which are provided as the aggregation unit of Korea National Statistical Office, administration dong unit and point. To overcome this problem, we convert all data to the SKT aggregation unit. The spatial error model, SEM is used for analysing spatial autocorrelation. Floating population, the number of nearby workers, and the area of aggregation unit effect positively on foodservice sales. In addition, the sales of Jung-gu, Yeongdeungpo-gu and Songpa-gu are less than that of Gangnam-gu. This study provides implications for further study by showing the usefulness and limitations of converting aggregation units of heterogeneous spatial data.

  • 최근 제정 시행되고 있는 지하연계 복합건축물에 대한 다양한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 그러나 화재위험성이 높은 지하 공간의 경우, 아직까지 관련 규정의 근거가 미약하여 현실적인 피난안전 설계에 어려움을 가지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 피난 계획을 위한 로우 데이터를 확보하고자 현재 사용 중인 선큰을 대상으로 실제 유동인구를 측정하여 재실자 밀도를 분석하였다. 선큰으로 연결되는 출입구들의 유동인구와 함께 유동계수를 측정하였으며 선큰내의 재실자 밀도 산정을 통하여 선큰의 대피기능을 위한 연구 진행의 토대를 마련하였다.

  • This study had been carried out based on the users' behavioral pattern in order to survey characteristics of bus station, a public facility. As a detailed analysis, quantification theory type 3 was performed based on 50 number of samples installed at each local governments as targets in order to evaluate bus station attributes and to survey its characteristics. As a result of this experiment, it was revealed that installation pattern of bus station would differ depending on characteristics of four axis of migrating population density, functionality and simplicity, metropolitan city of densely populated companies, local city with strong locality, the front of school with dense migrating population, secluded rural village, specific place like museum, rural area with dense migrating population. Therefore, in this study, detailed items were suggested comprehensively so that the design considering local environment and users' characteristics, in addition to modeling features of bus stations suitable for local characteristics, could be progressed. If any design and model complying with local environmental features based on above contents should be applied, bus station would be assessed by the users more positively in the future.

Analysis of Population Mobility Characteristics Based on Emergency Disaster Message Content: Focus on the 2022 Wildfires in Donghae City and Miryang City (긴급재난문자 송출 내용에 따른 유동인구 특성 분석: 2022년 동해시와 밀양시 산불 재난을 중심으로)

  • This paper analyzed changes in population mobility characteristics based on emergency disaster messages related to wildfires that occurred in 2022, using mobile data. The primary wildfires under analysis are the ones that occurred in Donghae City and Miryang City. Donghae City sent a total of six evacuation messages in response to the wildfire incidents, and all of the message contents specified particular evacuation locations. As a result, it was analyzed that there was a significant impact on changes in population mobility characteristics. On the other hand, in the case of Miryang City, a total of five evacuation messages were sent during the wildfire period, but not all messages specified a clear evacuation location,such as "A safe place". As a result, it was observed that there was minimal change in population mobility due to the lack of clear evacuation locations specified in the messages. These analysis results suggest the need for institutional improvements such as the standardization and specification of emergency alert message content when wildfires or similar disasters occur in different regions.

  • 소셜 네트워크 및 웹 데이터와 같은 대규모 그래프 데이터를 처리하기 위해 병렬 처리 기반의 기법들이 많이 사용되어 왔다. 본 연구에서는 그래프 형식의 대규모 교통 데이터를 하둡 맵리듀스를 이용하여 처리하는 효과적인 기법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방식에서는 도시의 유동 인구 흐름을 가중치로 고려할 수 있도록 Weighted PageRank 알고리즘을 기반으로 하는 병렬 그래프 알고리즘을 사용하며, 해당 알고리즘을 하둡 맵리듀스에 적용하여 주거 및 근무지 등의 지역을 분류하도록 결과를 분석하였다. 제안 기법을 통한 분석 결과를 기반으로 지역 간 유동 인구 그래프 데이터에서 각 도시의 영향력을 측정하는 페이지랭크, 하둡 맵리듀스 기반의 기법을 제시한다.

A comparison analysis of factors to affect pedestrian volumes by land-use type using Seoul Pedestrian Survey data (토지이용유형별 보행량 영향 요인 비교·분석 - 서울시 유동인구 조사자료를 바탕으로)

  • The paper analyzes factors to affect pedestrian volumes by land-use type using 2012 Seoul Pedestrian Survey. First of all, five groups were classified based on land-use types around survey points such as residential, commercial, industrial and green uses, using k-average cluster analysis. Then, differences in average pedestrian volumes by group were compared for a day and time of day. In addition, multiple regression analysis was employed to identify factors to affect pedestrian volumes, considering physical features, land use types, public transportation accessibility, and socio-economic indices as independent variables by spatial hierarchy. Model results show that the walkway width positively influenced on pedestrian volumes for all groups, whereas other variables differently affected by group. Our results can be used as basic data for establishing polices with respect to pedestrian road design and improvement as well as estimating pedestrian demand by land-use type.
