  • When cystic fluid of Taenia solium metacestodes (CF) was filtrated through Sephacryl S-300 Superfine, major proteins were in fractions III add IV Major protein in fraction III was Band C protein of 150 kDa and that in fraction IV was Band N protein (Choi et of., 1990). When CF was electrophoresed in 0.9% agarose gel and reacted with anti-CF rabbit serum (RACF), two main bands, a long outer and a short inner band, were precipitated, together with 8 minor bands. RACF reacted with fraction III forming the long outer band whereas RACF formed the short infer band with fraction IV in immunoelectrophoresis (IEP) The long outer precipitin band of CF fraction III was similar to antigen B in hydatid fluid (HF) of Oriol et at. (1971), while the short inner band of CF fraction IV was similar to HF antigen 5 of Caption et at. (1967) . When HF was reacted with RACF, the short inner band was immunoprecipitated without forming the long outer band. Common antigenicity between CF and HF seemed to exist in fraction IV rather than in fraction III of CF. Patient sera of neurocysticercosis reacted more frequently with fraction III than with fraction IV.

  • Data derived from odontometric studies are useful in many areas. Especially crown diameter of primary teeth is important in not only anthropology but also clinical dentistry. The purposes of this study were to compare diameters of primary molars of Korean children with those of preformed stainless steel crown, and examine racial characteristics of primary molars of Korean children. The mesiodistal and buccolingual diameters of primary molars were measured on dental casts taken from 235 children(male 105, female 131), with digital calipers. And the data were compared with those of preformed stainless steel crowns. The results were as follows; 1. No significant difference was observed between the right and left members of antimeric teeth and all primary molars of male were larger than those of female. 2. The diameters of primary molars of Korean are smaller than those of Austrailian aborigines and there was significant difference between diameters of primary molars of Korean and those of other populations. 3. There were size differences between diameters of maxillary, mandibular first molar and preformed stainless steel crown than other primary molars, relatively.

  • The pre-treatment for conservation must be needed for the exhumed historic sites. So, the study of conservation and restoration of historical sites has progressed favorably with using various polymers for solving upper problems. The problems which should be essentially solved for conservation of the exhumed historic sites are, however, using reinforcing agents that don't impair their original forms and sorting reinforcing agents on the lines of the historic sites' soil. These agents should be able to use without the effect of outer environments like marsh, winter time or temperature. In this work, we synthesized Epoxy resin and Epoxy hardener for the restoration of historical sites. These products have very good tension strength and adhesion strength and various physical properties that the users want. Particularly, these epoxy with high viscosity have good separation of between Epoxy final product and Urethane pre-surface.

  • Deep caries in primary molars without early intervention frequently induce a pulpal disease and consequent abscess lesion in surrounding tissue. Especially in many furcation radiolucent lesions of primary molars, accessory canals in furcation areas of primary molars play an important role in theses pathological progress. Although the studies of these communication canals in furcation area of human permanent molar well documented, there has been little research showing their existence in primary molar. For the purpose of understanding the morphological characteristics of accessory canals at furcation areas of primary molars and examining its frequency and patency, 52 specimen teeth were observed under the scanning electro-microscope and tested with dye penetration under vacuum pressure, and obtained the results as follows : 1. In SEM study, the frequency of accessory foramina viewed from the external and internal furcation area was 60% and 35% respectively. Likewise the diameter of the accessory canals was within the range of $11{\sim}107{\mu}m$ and $12{\sim}62{\mu}m$ respectively. 2. The frequency of patent accessory canals evidenced by the dye penetrated under the vacuum suction at furca areas in primary molars was 50% among the 20 specimen teeth tested.

  • Early loss of a primary second molar can cause mesial drift or tilting of the permanent first molar. We present a case of the early loss of the mandibular primary molars in a 5-year-old girl. The patient required extraction of the mandibular left primary first and second molars due to folliculitis on the successors. A flexible denture was used for eruption guidance of the permanent first molar and the recovery of masticatory function simultaneously.

  • In the primary dentitions, the majority of dental injuries involve the anterior teeth, especially the maxillary primary central incisors. When injuries affecting primary and permanent teeth are compared, it appears that trauma to the primary dentition is usually confined to the supporting structures, i.e. luxation and exarticulation, while the largest proportion of injuries affecting the permanent dentition is represented by crown fractures. But, cases reporting trauma affecting primary molars are unusual in the literature and several reports describe fractures of posterior teeth. The main goal of this report is to describe the repositioning treatment using removable appliances to an uncommon case of lingual displacement of primary molar that happened to a 4 year 5 month-old female child.

  • Stability of the moving historic sites have something to do with the degree of easiness of work as well as physical property of polymer product. These agents should be able to use without the effect of outer environments like water or low temperature and must have stability during progress of working the peel off Urethane pre-product from Epoxy surface. So, we synthesized low viscosity epoxy resin and hardener with best physical quality and separation media for the moving of historical sites. These products have very good tension strength, adhesion strength, low viscosity and various physical properties that the users want. Particularly, separation media products have good separation of Urethane pre-products surface and Epoxy final product surface.

  • After excavation work of relics, historical site which has historically meaningful, are preserved using the various methods. There are three method in the relocation methods that are original relocation method, the remaining structure-peel method, and soil peel method. The original relocation method is restored after relocating in historical site such as residential site, iron foundry site, kiln site, old mound. The remaining structure-peel method are restored only the feature of exposed remaining structure using polymeric resin, when it is difficult to relocate the entire remaining structure. And soil-peel method is exhibited after peeling in case when soil layers such as grave of old mound, foundation of building site, sedimentary deposit layer, shell heap, and etc. Soil-peel method becomes important historical data of changes according to environment at that time, that is, flooding by storm, traces of fire and living features of that time such as heaps of shells discarded after eating shellfish and living wastes. In particular, in case of soil layer for preparing foundation sites of building by compacting in turn soils with different components such as clay soil, rough sand soil and etc, it becomes important data which can judge foundation technology of that time. It can be said to be an important data preservation method for utilizing these historical data as historical data as well as for the purpose of education, exhibitions and public relations which can be shared not only by experts but also by general public. In this paper, we present the reliable definition of soil-peel method in various preservation methods and explain the using polymer in this method. So, we will come up with the accurate index about this method that is used the eminent analysis method for soil layer.

  • The primary maxillary second molars usually have three roots. However, an additional root located mesiopalatally is occasionally observed. This study aimed to determine the relationship between a mesiopalatal root of primary maxillary second molars and an abnormal eruption pattern of maxillary second premolars. The study was performed on cone beam computed tomography images taken from 916 children who visited the Dental Hospital of Kyung Hee University from 2010 to 2018. 744 serial cross-sectional cone beam computed tomography images were evaluated. The overall incidence of the mesiopalatal root of primary maxillary second molars was 3.2% (n = 24) and the abnormal eruption pattern of maxillary second premolars was 19.2% (n = 143). Especially, patients with the mesiopalatal root of primary maxillary second molars were significantly more likely to have the abnormal eruption pattern on maxillary second premolars (p = 0.000). The odds of the abnormal eruption pattern of maxillary second premolars with the mesiopalatal root of primary maxillary second molars was about 13 times higher than those without. The eruption pattern of the permanent successor should be carefully observed and treated if the mesiopalatal root of primary maxillary second molar is existent.

  • Three spot gourami (Trichogaster trichopterus Pallas, 1770) is a teleost belonging to Belontiidae. The oogenesis of three spot gourami was investigated by light microscope. The ovary was of light peach color and ellipsoidal shape with the major axis 2 cm and the minor axis 1 cm. Cytoplasm of oogonia was basophilic and many nucleoli were located at inside of nuclear membrane. In primary oocyte, lipid droplets were distributed only in the marginal area first, than at nuclear envelope near. In secondary oocyte, the egg envelope was formed and yolk vesicles was formed in the marginal area. The basophilic substance of cytoplasm was changed to acidic. In case of matured egg, thickness of egg envelope and size of egg were increased. The yolk vesicles were changed to yolk mass in accordance with development. The fertilized eggs were the colorless, transparent, spherical, adhesive and pelagic type. A large oil droplet was located in vitelline membrane of the fertilized egg. In conclusion, the oogenesis of three spot gourami was characterized by the increase in cell size, the formations of lipid droplets and yolk, the decrease of basophilic substance in the cytoplasm, and formation of one large oil droplets.
