  • In this paper, we propose a dynamic Web-Dashboard application so that resource information can be accessed anytime, anywhere, and management efficiency improvement analysis through big data analysis using various progressive analysis functions. It provides visualization and analytics to provide rich analytical insights to track resource location, predict repurchase duration, or find cost savings and efficiencies.

An Animation Speed-independent Collision Detection Algorithm (애니메이션 속도에 무관한 충돌 탐지 알고리즘)

  • This paper presents an efficient collision detection algorithm the performance of which is independent of animation speed. Most of the previous collision detection algorithms are incremental and discrete methods, which find out the neighborhood of the extreme vertex at the previous time instance in order to get an extreme vertex at each time instance. However, if an object collides with another one with a high torque, then the angular speed becomes faster. Hence, the candidate by the incremental algorithms may be farther from the real extreme vertex at this time instance. Therefore, the worst time complexity nay be $O(n^2)$, where n is the number of faces. Moreover, the total time complexity of incremental algorithms is dependent on the time step size of animation because a smaller time step yields more frequent evaluation of Euclidean distance. In this paper, we propose a new method to overcome these drawbacks. We construct a spherical extreme vertex diagram on Gauss Sphere, which has geometric properties, and then generate the distance function of a polyhedron and a plane by using this diagram. In order to efficiently compute the exact collision time, we apply the interval Newton method to the distance function.

  • In this paper, we Introduce the Unreal Tournament (UT) game and the Gamebots system. The former it a well-known 3D first-person action game and the latter is an intelligent agent research testbed based on UT And then we explain the design and implementation of KGBot, which is an intelligent non-player character deploying effectively within the 3D virtual environment provided by UT and the Gamebots system. KGBot is a bot client within the Gamebots System. KGBot accomplishes its own task to find out and dominate several domination points pro-located on the complex surface map of 3D virtual environment KGBot adopts UM-PRS as its control engine, which is a general BDI agent architecture. KGBot contains a hierarchical knowledge base representing its complex behaviors in multiple layers. In this paper, we explain details of KGBot's Intelligent behaviors, tuck af locating the hidden domination points by exploring the unknown world effectively. constructing a path map by collecting the waypoints and paths distributed over the world, and finding an optimal path to certain destination based on this path graph. Finally we analyze the performance of KGBot exploring strategy and control engine through some experiments on different 3D maps.

A Study on Signal Processing of Ballistic Missile Warhead Discrimination Using ESPRIT in Millimeter-Wave(Ka-Band) Seeker (밀리미터파 탐색기에서 ESPRIT 기법을 이용한 탄도 미사일 탄두 식별 신호처리 기법 개발)

  • This paper introduces a signal processing technique for discrimination of ballistic missile's warhead. An interceptor missile to destroy the enemy's ballistic missile requires an information on the location of missile's warhead. In order to detect and locate the missile's warhead, a seeker radar in the interceptor missile makes use of chirp waveform to generate high resolution range profiles(HRRPs). We applied one of the well known spectral estimation technique called ESPRIT (Estimation of Signal Parameters by Rotational Invariance Technique) to these HRRPs to estimate scattering centers on the target. Using the information on the one-dimensional(1-D) scattering centers, we can find the location of the warhead by estimating the length of the missile, Simulation results show that the proposed signal processing technique is efficient in discriminating the warhead of an ballistic missile.

  • A directional feeding method at the railway transformer is applied for supplying the power to the electric railway substations, and the pre-installed facilities with common feeder are utilized in preparation for the failure of feeding system and in finding a fault location in case that the catenary failure occurs. However, it is some difficulty in finding the fault location since there is an interface problem with the facilities when the supplying power system operates. In this paper, Auto Fault Locator Transfer Drive System (ALTDS) is designed to search for the fault location efficiently, and the measuring data are obtained and compared with the KORAIL standards. Further, the ground connection test is accomplished 24 times as the verification method, and it is shown that the methodology provides better performance than the existing traditional one.

A Performance Improvement Technique for Nash Q-learning using Macro-Actions (매크로 행동을 이용한 내시 Q-학습의 성능 향상 기법)

  • A multi-agent system has a longer learning period and larger state-spaces than a sin91e agent system. In this paper, we suggest a new method to reduce the learning time of Nash Q-learning in a multi-agent environment. We apply Macro-actions to Nash Q-learning to improve the teaming speed. In the Nash Q-teaming scheme, when agents select actions, rewards are accumulated like Macro-actions. In the experiments, we compare Nash Q-learning using Macro-actions with general Nash Q-learning. First, we observed how many times the agents achieve their goals. The results of this experiment show that agents using Nash Q-learning and 4 Macro-actions have 9.46% better performance than Nash Q-learning using only 4 primitive actions. Second, when agents use Macro-actions, Q-values are accumulated 2.6 times more. Finally, agents using Macro-actions select less actions about 44%. As a result, agents select fewer actions and Macro-actions improve the Q-value's update. It the agents' learning speeds improve.

  • Nowadays the soccer becomes one of the best spot lighting sports in the world Especially the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup was deeply impressed on all the korean. One goal of illuminating engineering should be the design of lighting system that can provide consistently high task visibility regardless of where a task might be located within a working space. The television broadcasting on the soccer has been an important role in the media. The standard of FIFA(The Federation Internationale do Football Association) requires recommended illuminance levels for artificial lighting for a player, an audience, TV broadcasting, as well as everybody in the stadium. This paper has proposed an algerian to select the suboptimal lighting tower position for watching and TV broadcasting a soccer game within a pleasant environment and an optimum illuminance distribution. The position using the software Philip's Calculux was chosen based an the calculations of a horizontal illuminance, vertical illuminance, uniformity, glare, and so on by changing lighting tower positions.

Books Location Estimation System by Image Processing (영상처리를 이용한 도서 위치 추정 시스템)

  • In this paper, we will show that a control search methodology is a alternative method of a sequential search which is difficult in finding books for arrangement at library or a bookstore when books are out of place. To solve the problem of the sequential search, we apply a edge operator and the Hough Transform to boundary of a taken photograph image book. We generate histogram by a projected image from boundary range of selected books and select title areas from this and possible areas which are a character number of title, authors, a publishing company and an array sequence. Finally, we can select the final possible area of a book location by a curve fitting and a regression line extraction, and show utility through experiment.

  • For tracing tag locations, a trajectories should be modeled and indexed in radio frequency identification (RFID) systems. The trajectory of a tag can be represented as a line that connects two spatiotemporal locations captured when the tag enters and leaves the vicinity of a reader. If a tag enters but does not leave a reader, its trajectory is represented only as a point captured at entry. Because the information that the tag stays in the reader is missing from the trajectory represented only as a point, we should extend the region of a query to find the tag that remains in a reader. In this paper, we propose an interval data model of tag's trajectory in order to solve the problem. Trajectories of tags are represented as two kinds of intervals; dynamic intervals which are time-dependent lines and static intervals which are fixed lines. We also show that the interval data model has better performance than others with a cost model

  • The population of Korean Society is aging rapidly at a pace which is unprecedented in the world. This demographic change results in the various socioeconomic and cultural changes accompanied by spatial changes. The purpose of this study is to examine major characteristics of residential medical facilities for the elderly and the life of those using the facilities of the Capital Region in Korea. Major findings of the study are as follows. The characteristics of the location of residential medical facilities for the elderly and the life of those using the facilities are influenced not only by the mobility of the elderly. but also by the distance between the facilities and Seoul and also by the residential environments of the facilities. The location of the facilities and the mobility of the elderly, followed by the residential location of the family have an effect on everyday life of the elderly. Therefore, the location for residential medical facilities is not recommended to be far from the metropolitan area.
