  • The purpose of this study was to examine the factors influencing the decision to get implant treatment at dental clinic. The subjects in this study were 321 patients at dental hospitals and clinics. Andersen model in which predisposing variables, enabling variables and need variables were suggested as independent variables was used. The implant decision making was selected as a dependent variable in the model. Using logistic regression analysis, we found statistically significant effects of three independent variables: 1) class, 2) satisfaction with the facility; 3) familiarity with others received implant treatment. Those with the middle or high class background were more likely to take implant treatment. Those who were satisfied with clinic facility were more likely to take implant treatment. Those who were familiar with others received implant treatment were more likely to take implant treatment. This result implies the importance of opinion of others were received the same treatment. Hence viral marketing effort is required even in dental care field.

  • This study was conducted to identify the level of problem-solving ability, critical thinking and satisfaction level of students majoring in dental hygiene, and to identify the impact of problem-solving ability and critical thinking on major satisfaction levels. The research target collected data through a structured questionnaire for 259 students majoring in dental hygienics located in North and South Gyeongsang Province. The analysis results showed that the problem-solving ability of the study subjects was 2.56, critical accidents were 2.58, and the major satisfaction level was 2.32, and the problem-solving ability, critical thinking and major satisfaction level were positively correlated with each other. Among the lower factors of problem solving ability, solution performance and solution model were significant factors that could improve major satisfaction, and among the lower factors of critical thinking, intellectual fairness, intellectual passion/interest, and systematicness were significant factors that could improve major satisfaction. Critical thinking also significantly mediated problem solving ability and major satisfaction level (β=).2602, BCCI [.0908~.4529]). Based on the results, it is believed that dental hygiene education needs to be developed in addition to the establishment of an educational environment that can enhance the ability to solve problems and critical thinking, and that research should be continued to check its effects.

In expectation scores of service quality attributes,‘hygiene of tableware(3.40)’was the most important. Satisfaction of ‘appropriate 1 portion size(-0.11)’was the highest scored, while‘dealing with complaints on meals(-0.70)’was the most dissatisfied one. Satisfaction was highly correlated with‘providing preferred menu(r = -0.62)’of food quality expectation. It was highly correlated with‘dealing with complaints on meals(r = -0.61)’of service quality expectation. Expectation and perception of foodservice as 2.25 and 2.90 out of 5, respectively, which suggests that foodservice needs to be improved. The attributes identified in Quadrant A, which was labelled‘focus here’and supposed to indicate the areas of high expectation but in low perception, was hygiene of carts holding used trays.
