The Implementation of Library Toolbar and Librarian's Evaluation for Improving Accessability of OPAC (OPAC 접근 향상을 위한 도서관 툴바의 제공 및 사서 평가 연구 - W대학 도서관 사례를 중심으로 -)

  • This study implements library toolbar in order to improve the accessibility of OPAC in the library. The toolbar elements are extracted on the basis of the importance of functionality for OPAC. After comparing the toolbar implementation approaches, this study develops the library toolbar with these elements as the client-based application that can fully realized the functionality of the toolbar. The librarians evaluate the usability of toolbar very affirmatively. This study also summarizes the further functionalities to upgrade toolbar proposed by the librarian. Through deploying the upgraded toolbar, the user requirements have to be analyzed and realized with the user survey.

  • This research suggests real-time people-powered Q&A system that overcoming limitation of natural language handling technology that Q&A system has and demerits that unrelated documents are included in the results of searching in existing information retrieval system and can adapt to change to Web2.0 environment by actively applying users' participation and providing real-time information to users' request of information.

  • This study analyzed the characteristics and patterns of tags in cultural heritage collections. Works of art were assembled to be tagged, 100 taggers were deployed, and tagging encourged. The gathered tags were analyzed in terms of general patterns, tagging's functions, and usefulness for information access. The results can be used to improve the access of works of art.

A Study on freedom of information in the Government 2.0 era (거버먼트 2.0 기반의 정보공개제도 개선방안에 대한 연구)

  • The concept of Government 2.0 is spreading rapidly in many countries and is fundamentally changing existing freedom of information system which has passively responded to information demands. This study aims at discussing possible strategies for a new freedom of information system that is based on the Government 2.0 notion which presents revolutional approaches to public sector information's creation, management, and usage. For the purpose of the study, precedence studies and researches about both freedom of information system and Government 2.0 are analyzed. Furthermore, mutual relationships between them are discussed. Through this discussion, social and economic benefits from freedom of information systems which are based on Government 2.0 are explored. As a case study, Data.gov services in the US, the UK, and Australia which are recognised as a feasible plan to set up Government 2.0 are analyzed. Their three common characteristics- revaluating public sector information's reuse, establishing exclusive agencies, and providing raw data-are discussed. Then, various mashup services which use Data.gov services' raw data are also studied. Issues related to the freedom of information system in South Korea are examined. As a result, a policy framework for establishing Government 2.0 based freedom of Information system is discussed in terms of three aspects, law, technology and organization.

  • Tizen은 삼성과 인텔이 주도하여 개발하고 있는 오픈소스 형태의 소프트웨어 플랫폼이다. 기술적으로는 리눅스 커널 기반으로 웹을 지향하고 있으며 현재는 2.3 Alpha 버전으로 금년 말 3.0 버전을 향해 나아가고 있다. Tizen은 스마트 기기뿐만 아니라 다양한 산업 분야 적용을 목적으로 하는 소프트웨어 플랫폼으로써 향후 활용 분야가 매우 광범위하다. 본고에서는 Tizen이 어떻게 탄생하여 발전되어 왔고, 또 앞으로 어떻게 진화해 갈 것인지, 그리고 기술적 특징과 오프소스로서의 특징들을 중심으로 독자가 Tizen을 쉽게 이해할 수 있도록 하고자 한다.

전자 거래를 위한 3차원 가상 상점 디렉토리 서비스 구현

  • 본 연구에서는 VRML(Virtual Reality Modeling Language)을 이용하여 월드 와이드 웹(World Wide Web; WWW) 상에서의 3차원 디렉토리 서비스인 "3D 한마당"을 구현하였다. 현재 WWW 상에서는 많은 2차원 디렉 토리 서비스가 존재하나 3차원검색 서비스에 비해 사용자를 위한 가상 현실감이 부족한 단점이 있다. 또한 3차원 검색 서비스는 그 잠재적 수요가 점차 증가함에도 불구하고 아직 적은 편이며, 또한 중오성이 차츰 커 지는 전자 상거래를 위해 특화된 디렉토리 서비스도 그 요구에 비해 많지 않다. 3차원으로 디렉토리 서비스의 기능을 수행할 수 있는 3D 한마당은 HTML(Hyper Text Markup Language)에 의해 기술되는 2차원 전자 거래용 디 렉토리 서비스인 "한마당"을 보조하기 위해 제작된 것으로, VRML 1.0 사양에 맞추어서 만들어졌다. 3D 한마당 을 위한 VRML 월드를 만들기 위해, Pentium PC에서 3-D MAX 소프트웨어로 각 구성 객체들을 저작한 후, 이를 조합하여 VRML 1.0 사양을 따라 월드로 변환하는 방법을 사용하였다. 이렇게 완성된 3D 한마당은 기존의 2차원 전자 거래용 디렉토리 서비스인 한마당에서 하이퍼링크로 바로 접근할 수 있으며, 또한 월드 안의 객체에서 그 객체에 대한 2차원 테이블로도 연결이 가능하게 하였다. 이러한 3차원 가상상점 디렉토리 서비스는 전자 거래에 특화된 특성 때문에 정해진 개수의 객체들만 요구되어 구현이 쉬운 이점이 있고, 보다 인간에게 자연스러운 인테 페이스로 정보 검색을 지원하게 해줄 수 있다.정보 검색을 지원하게 해줄 수 있다.

  • In current web-based systems, it is generally recognized that one way flow of information from providers to users can cause the static problem of document structure. Therefore, information update frequency and interaction between providers and users are quiet slow. Monopolized information can obstruct the free user's access and heterogeneous format and different protocols also make users difficult to retrieve and to collect information. To resolve these problems, in this study, we introduce the Web 2.0 to move toward the user's participation and share based on the social network and the OAI protocol to improve the free access and the interoperability on bibliographic information for Life Science and then design the bibliographic information network for life science. This network has four main functions such as: 1) Open Repository function that can make up user community for sharing and data exchange. Data such as article, seminar material, research note and research report are considered in design. 2) Open Collection function that can collect and store the metadata on distributed bibliographic information networks, 3) Open Access function that can manage the metadata in the open access environment, and 4) Administration function that can monitor the user activity and statistics and can inspect the registered data.

Needs Assessment for Web-based Self-management Program by the Nutrition Knowledge Levels of Diabetic Patients (당뇨환자의 영양지식수준에 따른 자가관리 현황 및 웹베이스 영양관리 프로그램 개발에 관한 요구도 조사)

  • This study was conducted to assess needs of self-management nutrition program for diabetic patients. The survey was conducted among 100 diabetic patients, and the mean age of the subjects was 54.2 years old. Thirty three percent of the subjects were diagnosed diabetes less than 2 years ago. The average nutrition knowledge score about diabetes was 10.2 point, and percentages of correct answers were very high in 'foods rich in fiber' (97.0%), 'relevance of exercise and insulin' (97.0%), 'quantity of insulin injection' (91.0%), and 'diabetes menu' (91.0%). The sources of nutrition information were hospitals/healthcare centers (56.1%), TV/radio (19.2%), and internet (13.1%). Sixty nine percent of the subjects have experienced nutrition education on subjects as 'menu planning skills'(22.4%), 'selecting foods' (22.4%), 'relevance of blood glucose and eating foods' (21.5%) by personal counseling (54.4%). The total score of eating behavior was higher after diagnosed diabetes (35.3) than before (30.0) (p < 0.001). The preferred topics in developing diabetes nutrition information websites were 'diabetes mellitus', 'relevance of blood glucose and foods', and 'selecting foods for diabetes'. The subjects wanted the websites developed by 'using mainly illustrations, pictures, tables' (22.8%) and 'using simple design' (19.6%). The preferred contents in developing diabetes self-management nutrition program were 'dietary life diagnosis', 'chronic disease risk diagnosis', 'calorie control by selecting foods and cooking skills', and 'dietary assessment'. In designing the program, the subjects' most wanted designs were 'be handy and simple in using' (29.3%), 'using simple design' (17.9%), and 'using mainly illustrations, pictures, tables' (15.7%).

  • The area of the internet shopping mall heavily relies on new emerging information technologies, and it essentially requires delicate marketing model to support consumer behavior. RSS, which is one of the representative Web 2.0 technologies, is the system that distributes digital contents without any Web browser. RSS is expected not only to be very useful in online marketing but also to become actively applied on various areas such as online newspapers and blogs. AISAS model was proposed to complement the AIDMA model that did not cover the new changing customer behaviors of online commerce environment such as search and share. In this research, we propose a marketing model which utilizes RSS based on the AISAS model to support internet shopping malls. With our marketing model, internet shopping malls are expected to provide required services to the customers at every AISAS step. Moreover, it can provide integrated services by connecting all service components of each step. We utilized RSS in our model to implement those services because RSS has many advantages on supporting search and share of product information.

A Study on the Satisfaction of Web-Based Health Education Programs (웹기반 건강교육 프로그램에 대한 만족도 연구)

  • Purpose: This study was to present the process of web-based educational program (WEP) development and to identify factors affecting satisfaction with WEP for the certificate of healthcare managers working at the National Health Insurance Corporation (NHIC). Methods: Subjects were healthcare managers and voluntary participants of WEP. A total of 1,449 respondents were surveyed through an online questionnaire about their satisfaction with the educational contents and system. Results: The mean contents satisfaction was 3.75 (SO 0.54), and system satisfaction 4.68 (SD 0.54). According to statistical analysis, the type of certification, experience and professional career of health care management affected contents satisfaction. And factors affecting system satisfaction were the type of certification and gender. Conclusion: WEP was utilized as a pre-requisite course for the certificate program of healthcare managers. However, the development of advanced WEP is suggested to meet the educational needs of healthcare managers who have certificate or license and their job related to healthcare management.
