  • The development of the Internet in the 21st century had made a variety of cross-cultural environment so that animations also have evolved with new features to Web-Animation. In Korea, the web-based flash animation leap forward to the animation Utopia in the early 2000's, but did not last long. The web-based animations should attract audience's attention not only with it's minimum streaming capacity but also with showing it's best qualities as well, Therefore, the stimulating narrative strategies were mandatories for web-animation in 2000's. The absence of in-depth research on media, poor revenue structure, and the emergence of mobile games and e-learning industries made the web-animation become just a one-time/one-consumable content. There were no subsequent generation of korean web-animation ever since. In this study, I want to introduce and analyze the american web animation series, (2005) as a new type of web-animation in current digital culture, In particular, I want to discuss how this web animation appeal to the audience with its narrative strategies through using some aspect of the internet culture which's differentiated from traditional media based cultures. This research could suggest diverse narrative strategies for the future web-animation with new vision. Moreover, This also allows to look at latest web-animation trends and its new experiments.

A Study on the Relationship between Usage Characteristics of TV and Web Animation and Purchase Intent of Goods Featuring Animation Characters (아동 애니메이션 이용 특성과 캐릭터상품 구매의사의 관계 : TV와 웹 애니메이션을 중심으로)

  • This study aims to understand the using characteristics of TV animation and web-based animation of children and investigate the effects of change in viewing process on the purchase of character goods. For this purpose, an online survey was conducted for parents who have children as animation viewers. The results show that there was no difference by age or gender in using both TV and web animation. When parents get animation information on TV, they had their children watch animation through the same TV channel, but the web has no significant relationship between information acquisition path and main service they use. In addition, it is found that parent' perception of TV animation superiority is influenced by respondents' income and children's watching time of animation has no effect on it. Finally, monthly income of households, payment amount of web animation, watching time of TV animation, and perception of quality of TV animation have a significant effect on parents' active purchase of character goods. On the other hand, the purchase intention of the recommended goods is influenced by children's age, the parent's perception about the web animation quality, and the payments of the web animation.

  • This study is aiming for make people understanding the importance of animation as a compulsory subject in designing World Wide Web. Specifically analyses of the basic theories and concepts of animation are given in the study to help web designer can get advantages from them. Few examples of some common factors which is being shared by both traditional animations and animations in web design. Highlighted issue in this study, however, is that we do not have many web sites organised by one who has proper animation training. This is underlined as a reason of imperfect web design we are able to see recently. As a proposal of solution, you'll see the training methods of animation, to have well planned web designs.

  • 본 논문에서는 21세기 지식산업사회가 도래하면서 우리 사회에 가장 광범위한 변화를 몰고 온 인터넷을 기반으로 한국 애니메이션 산업의 현황과 미래에 대한 전망을 가늠 하고자 한다. 여기에는 최근 인터넷의 핵심 개념으로 떠오르고 있는 웹2.0을 재조명하여 새로운 미디어의 범주 안에서 애니메이션의 시대적 변화와 새로운 가능성을 살펴보고 디지털콘텐츠산업으로 재편되고 있는 국내외 애니메이션 동향을 살핌으로써 국내 애니메이션의 가치를 새롭게 창출하고자하는 의미도 포함되어 있다. 여기서 좀 더 주목하여 웹2.0의 개념을 국내 애니메이션 산업으로 의 적극적인 전이를 일으키기 위해서는 보다 구체적인 솔루션, 프로세스, 툴에 대한 개발이 보완되어야 할 것이다.

  • 애니메이션은 이미지나 텍스트와 같이 정적인 방식에 비해 효과적인 정보전달방식이다. 이는 간단한 표현이라도 동적인 움직임으로 구성될 때 더욱 흥미를 유발하며 높은 전달력을 가지게 되기 때문이다. 그러나 현재 웹 환경에서의 애니메이션 제작 방식은 전문적인 제작 도구를 사용하는데 국한되어 있어, 일반적인 사용자들의 참여를 통한 활용에는 적합하지 못한 방식이다. 본 논문은 사용자의 의도를 쉽고 직관적으로 반영할 수 있는 애니메이션 생성 인터페이스 기법을 제안하며, 실제 웹 환경에서 정보의 공유와 의사전달에 있어 직관적이고 쉬운 방식으로 애니메이션을 활용하는 방안을 제시한다.

  • As the technology realizing digital multimedia has been developing remarkably based on Internet environment, today we can gain various information we need quickly and easily without regard to time or place by using world wide web. The recent spread of digital animation as a way of communication on Internet has been forming a new communication paradigm according to the development of age. Besides, digital animations embodied on web are a kind of communication medium which is expressed through interactions using different digital multimedia tools and put the concepts of time and space together. This is a form which can cope with various forms of information, and it occupies a high rate on web and is used often. Web animations offer various forms of communication, such as interface structure design for information transfer, characters, typography, and other graphic elements, which make users feel maximized real dynamics. This paper analyzes and evaluates the categories according to the characteristics, information and usage types of digital animations used on web, examines more efficient communication expressions based on them, and pays attention to the Internet environment that will develop and change in the future. With regard to it, this research aims at suggesting a useful theory so that diverse digital animations on web based on Internet environment would develop into a new communication paradigm responding to the change of time.

  • Since the Web 2.0 generation, the average user is more than just enjoying the various media contents; they start to create contents, and those contents have had a huge value and great influence in recent days. The reason for the increase of users who tend to create contents is due to popularization of web based applications. Previous applications were only for the skilled person; however, new web based applications involve the average person and give him a new level of user enjoyment by allowing him to create easily with simple operations. In this paper, through analysing previous animation-creating applications which could not spread widely compared to other contents, we suggest the outline for developing a web based animation-creating application which can help the user to easily create animation contents. We have looked around at how various other contents-making applications have been changed to help the user to be able to participate in creating contents, and we suggest how animation-creating applications can be changed and developed from this analysis. We expect the conclusion of this paper to stimulate to development acting 3D animation-creating applications corresponding to the web 2.0 features - open, share, cooperate, participate. In result, users can enjoy creating the animation more actively; at the same time, we hope to help the development of the new applications which correlate to memedia generation.

  • We present a sketch-based animation interface that allows novice users to create informative 2D web animation quickly, In this paper, we uses cutouts as a main animated primitive to allow users to quickly create 'cutouts on whiteboard' style animations. Users can freely draw and write, and at the same time they can easily manipulate animated cutouts to create impressive animations, We demonstrate that our system is capable of creating more impressive animations more quickly than sketch-only animation approaches.

  • The industries of culture contents is the trend to enforce the power of National competitions in the world economy knowledge foundation which tries to exchange a labor industry to the knowledge business. The spread of internet is the apparently turning point to be devide the world economy into the industrial society and the digital society. Also the communication with internet has been recognized as it is not any more newly means of communication in Korea. Net value which is a multinational internet survey corporation clarified that Korea was the most nation in the world by the result of its research in the rate of using internet. This research look into the characteristic of the media and type of the animation in internet, also analysis a need of user and a degree of convenience of using internet in the web of education site. This study is designed to study the evaluation criteria of web interface with visual perception and to seek its development in relation to the quality of visual perception in case of web animation.
