  • 최근에 웹 기반 교육 시스템으로서 다양한 온라인 학습에 대한 새로운 교수 모형이 제시되고 있다. 또한, 학습자의 요구에 맞는 코스웨어의 주문이 증가되고 있는 추세이며 그에 따라 뭔 기반 교육 시스템에 효율적이고 자동화된 교육 에이전트의 필요성이 인식되고 있다. 그러나 현재 연구되고 있는 많은 교육 시스템들은 학습자 성향에 맞는 코스를 적절히 서비스해 주지 못할 뿐 아니라 지속적인 피드백과 학습자가 코스를 학습함에 있어서 취약한 부분을 재학습 할 수 있도록 도와주는 서비스를 원활히 제공하지 못하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 취약성 분석 알고리즘을 이용한 학습자 중심의 코스 스케쥴링 멀티 에이전트 시스템을 제안한다. 제안한 시스템은 먼저 학습자의 학습을 지속적으로 모니터링하고 평가하여 개인 학습자의 학습 성취도를 계산하며, 이 성취도를 에이전트의 스케줄에 적용하여 학습자에게 적합한 코스를 제공하고, 학습자는 이러한 코스에 따라 능력에 맞는 반복된 학습을 통하여 적극적인 완전학습을 수행하게 된다.

  • RSS와 같은 신디케이션 기술은 사용자가 스스로 웹사이트에 접근하지 않아도, 새롭게 업데이트 되는 정보가 있을 때마다 RSS Aggregator를 통해 사용자에게 알려줌으로써 편리성을 가져다준다. 이러한 기술을 이용한다면 학습자들은 새로운 웹 문서가 게시될 때마다 해당 사이트를 방문할 필요 없이, 자동으로 신규 정보만 얻어오는 학습 자료의 습득 도구로서 활용이 가능하다. 하지만, 정의가 새롭게 추가되는 여부만을 판단하는 기존의 RSS Aggregator의 경우에 등록된 채널수가 늘어갈수록 사용자는 자신이 원하는 정보를 찾기 위해, 정보를 분류하고 검색하는 작업에 많은 노력을 기울여야한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하고 사용자에게 의다 효율적인 정보 전달을 위해, 사용자 스스로 관심분야를 생성하여, 사용자에게 전달되는 신규자료는 각 분야에 자동적으로 분류되며, 사용자가 지정해 놓은 조건에 적합하도록 콘텐츠를 제공 받을 수 있는 시스템을 설계하였다. 신규자료를 분야에 자동적으로 분류하기 위해 초기 분류된 문서로부터 분야별 색인어 추출 방안을 제안하고자 한다.

Analysis and Evaluation of Video Search Services of Korean Search Portals: Naver versus Google Korea (검색 포털들의 동영상 검색 서비스 분석 평가: 네이버와 구글을 중심으로)

  • This study aims to analyze and evaluate video search services of major search portals, Naver and Google Korea. In particular, this study analyzed characteristics such as collection distribution, yearly distribution, the ratio of redundant search results, the ratio of advertising, and the quality of videos. This study also evaluated relevance, credibility, and currency of video search results, and investigated the factors that influence relevance and credibility. Finally, types and characteristics of error results were analyzed. The results of this study show that the relevance of Google's video search results is higher than those of Naver, whereas currency of Naver's search results is somewhat higher than those of Google. Google has more high resolution videos than Naver, and Naver has more advertising than Google. Both Google and Naver return many redundant videos in the search results. The results of this study can be implemented to the portal's effective development of video search services.

  • A study on the remote library users showed that remote users preferred online databases and internet as information resources because of easy access and easy of use. However, they have used books and journals, which are printed resources, as main information resources because online databases and internet cannot satisfy their information needs. Also, 86.7 percent of remote users consider library services as an important issue to choose a distance learning program, and remote users extremely motivated by their professors to use library so that there are needs to have partnership between distance learning programs and library services. Finally, remote users consider authority and accuracy and contents of obtained information as important issues for their information rather than design of the databases, so that library should secure more digitalized information for remote users needs. This study is to contribute to improve quality of information services for remote users, however, it is not thoroughgoing enough, and there should be successive researches in the future.

  • Currently, The Internet has been imported in many fields and it's development prompted accordingly. The field of education also has been developed as 'Learners Centered Environment' by combining the existing educational method, so called distance learning, with internet. Learners have become able to adopt the appropriate level of educational service anywhere and anytime they want. In this paper, we propose a EOD system based on SIP. The EOD system is a new conferencing type system in the distance learning field. Using SIP (Session Initial Protocol) for EOD system is more efficient than using H.323, also the more the number of its is increased, and as improvement of its QoS. The EOD system is scalable and provides conferencing service using SIP which suits with web environment. And, the EOD system supports multicast efficiently to utilize bandwidth of networks.

  • With fast advances in computing power and network technologies, online streaming services of continuous media (CM) have been popularly implemented on the Web. To implement such services, a variety of CM streams need to be processed efficiently, so that the Sweep scheme was proposed. This scheme has several advantages such as hiccup-free playbacks and seek-time optimization. In this scheme, however, the entire CM streams are scheduled with a single scheduling period, called a cycle. Since only one scheduling period is allowed in this scheme, a significant amount of disk time is usually wasted because of its inflexible disk schedules. To solve this, we propose a new dynamic Sweep scheme. For this, we devise an algorithm that is able to expand scheduling periods of serviced CM streams and propose a new admission control mechanism guaranteeing hiccup-free playbacks. To show performance gains, we execute various simulation experiments. From the experimental results, we can see that the proposed scheme outperforms the Sweep scheme in terms of disk utilization and scheduling flexibility.

  • 소프트웨어 공학의 새로운 패러다임인 컴포넌트가 지니는 다양한 속성들과 장점은 아직 많은 문제점들이 남아있는 상태이지만 소프트웨어 개발시의 높은 생산성과 효율성, 그리고 재사용성과 유지보수의 이점으로 크게 주목받고 있다. 컴포넌트의 뛰어난 장점들을 효과적으로 이용하기 위해선 우선 표준화된 명세를 통해 컴포넌트가 개발되어 유통업체나 벤더의 저장소에 저장되어 있어야 하며 구축된 저장소에서 사용자는 컴포넌트 검색 서비스를 이용하여 자신의 요구에 적합한 컴포넌트를 구매, 사용할 수 있는 체계화된 프로세스가 필요하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 컴포넌트 검색을 위한 선행 작업으로서, 검색용 메타데이터를 메타데이터가 가져야 하는 원칙을 적용하여 정의한다. 컴포넌트가 가지는 일반적인 속성과 성질로부터 사용자가 컴포넌트를 검색하고자 할 때 사용되어질 수 있는 키워드를 메타데이터의 항목으로 추출하였으며 이렇게 정의된 메타데이터를 바탕으로 일반적인 정보의 분류에 적합한 기존 웹 검색과는 다른 컴포넌트만의 검색을 다루는 새로운 검색 시스템을 설계하였다. 따라서 효과적인 컴포넌트 재사용을 위해 검색용 메타데이터와 이를 바탕으로 한 컴포트 검색 시스템을 제안하고자 한다.

A Multi-agent System for Web-based Course Scheduling (웹 기반 코스 스케쥴링을 위한 멀티 에이전트 시스템)

  • Recently various new model of teaching-learning as web based education system has been proposed. The demand for the customized courseware which is required from the learners is increased, the needs of the efficient and automated education agents in the web-based instruction are recognized. But many education systems that had been studied recently did not service fluently the courses which learners had been wanting and could not provide the way for the learners to study the teaming weakness which is observed in the continuous feedback of the course. In this paper we propose a multi-agent system for course scheduling of learner-oriented using weakness analysis algorithm. First proposed system analyze learner's result of evaluation and calculates teaming accomplishment. From this accomplishment the multi-agent schedules the suitable course for the learner The learner achieves an active and complete learning from the repeated and suitable course.

Analysis and Evaluation of Term Suggestion Services of Korean Search Portals: The Case of Naver and Google Korea (검색 포털들의 검색어 추천 서비스 분석 평가: 네이버와 구글의 연관 검색어 서비스를 중심으로)

  • This study aims to analyze and evaluate term suggestion services of major search portals, Naver and Google Korea. In particular, this study evaluated relevance and currency of related search terms provided, and analyzed characteristics such as number and distribution of terms, and queries that did not produce terms. This study also analyzed types of terms in terms of the relationship between queries and terms, and investigated types and characteristics of harmful terms and terms with grammatical errors. Finally, Korean queries and English queries, and popular queries and academic queries were compared in terms of the amount and relevance of search terms provided. The results of this study show that the relevance and currency of Naver's related search terms are somewhat higher than those of Google. Both Naver and Google tend to add terms to or delete terms from original queries, and provide identical search terms or synonym terms rather than providing entirely new search terms. The results of this study can be implemented to the portal's effective development of term suggestion services.
