A Study on Development Model for Digital Contents of Cultural Archetype (문화원형의 디지털콘텐츠 개발 모형에 관한 연구)

  • This studied conceptional definition of digital contents and necessity of cultural contents by digital technology in progress. In addition, development process of cultural archetype digital contents based on ultimate idea and imagnation in our culture, refered from cultural archetype and digital content technology was offered by the study. Through abstraction of cultural archetype contents factor, this study deduced development model of digital contents extracted by value chain of cultural archetype contents.

  • In this paper, firstly, I take the concept of korean traditional cultural archetype and cultural content, and discuss about methodology that the cultural archetype can be cultural content. As the methodology of making cultural content of cultural archetype, analyzing media art which used material of the painting and korea traditional dance in the Chosun Dynasty, the photograph in the era from the end of the Chosun Dynasty to modern age, and a folk play, etc. And then I would like to suggest that the method of making cultural content of the cultural archetype using new media.

Initialization of Fuzzy C-Means Using Kernel Density Estimation (커널 밀도 추정을 이용한 Fuzzy C-Means의 초기화)

  • Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) is one of the most widely used clustering algorithms and has been used in many applications successfully. However, FCM has some shortcomings and initial prototype selection is one of them. As FCM is only guaranteed to converge on a local optimum, different initial prototype results in different clustering. Therefore, much care should be given to the selection of initial prototype. In this paper, a new initialization method for FCM using kernel density estimation (KDE) is proposed to resolve the initialization problem. KDE can be used to estimate non-parametric data distribution and is useful in estimating local density. After KDE, in the proposed method, one initial point is placed at the most dense region and the density of that region is reduced. By iterating the process, initial prototype can be obtained. The initial prototype such obtained showed better result than the randomly selected one commonly used in FCM, which was demonstrated by experimental results.

  • Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) 알고리듬은 가장 널리 사용되는 군집화 알고리듬 중 하나로 다양한 응용 분야에서 사용되고 있다. 하지만 FCM은 여러 가지 문제점을 가지고 있으며 초기 원형 설정이 그 중 하나이다. FCM은 국부 최적해에 수렴하므로 초기 원형 설정에 따라 클러스터링 결과가 달라진다. 이 논문에서는 이러한 FCM의 초기 원형 설정 문제를 개선하기 위하여 커널밀도 추정 (kernel density estimation) 기법을 활용하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안한 방법에서는 먼저 커널 밀도 추정을 수행한 후 밀도가 높은 지역에 클러스터의 초기 원형을 설정하고 원형이 설정된 영역의 밀도를 감소시키는 과정을 반복함으로써 효율적으로 초기 원형을 설정할 수 있다. 제안된 방법이 일반적으로 사용되는 무작위 초기화 방법에 비해 효율적이라는 사실은 실험결과를 통해 확인할 수 있다.

  • 포인트 클라우드 콘텐츠는 실제 사물을 수천만 개의 점으로 표현하는 미디어 콘텐츠이다. 각 점들은 색상 값과 3 차원 공간상의 위치로 구성 되어있다. 이러한 컨텐츠를 영상 미디어로 활용하기 위해서는 실시간으로 네트워크를 통해 전달되는 포인트 클라우드 콘텐츠를 고품질의 영상으로 시각화 할 필요성이 있다. 본 연구에서는 포인트 클라우드 콘텐츠를 구성하는 점들이 임의의 순서로 입력될 때, 각 점이 투영된 형상을 원형으로 나타내어 블렌딩하는 원형 splat 기반의 실시간 시각화 기법을 제안한다.

Radially Corrugated Circular Microstrip Patch Antenna for Miniaturization (소형화를 위한 방사 주름 원형 마이크로스트립 패치 안테나)

  • In this paper, radially corrugated circular-type microstrip patch antenna was devised and manufactured for GPS (center frequency: 1.575 GHz). Radially corrugated circular-type microstrip patch antenna having radiational corrugation-patch contributed to add size reduction ratio by lowering the resonant frequency because the edge current also has the extended and perpendicular path. As a result, radially corrugated circular-type microstrip patch antenna has 28 % area reduction than planer circular-type patch antenna for linear polarization and 27.7 % area reduction than planer circular-type patch antenna for circular polarization. Radially corrugated circular-type microstrip patch antenna is suitable for miniaturized receive antenna for GPS which has the characteristic of gain 2.1 dBd, axiai ratio 1.3 dB, 2 dB axial bandwidth 15 MHz(0.9 %).

Modeling on asymmetric circular data using wrapped skew-normal mixture (겹친왜정규혼합분포를 이용한 비대칭 원형자료의 모형화)

  • Over the past few decades, several studies have been made on the modeling of circular data. But these studies focused mainly on the symmetrical cases including von Mises distribution. Recently, many studies with skew-normal distribution have been conducted in the linear case. In this paper, we dealt the problem of fitting of non-symmetrical circular data with wrapped skew-normal distribution which can be derived by using the principle of wrapping. Wrapped skew-normal distribution is very flexible to asymmetical data as well as to symmetrical data. Multi-modal data are also fitted by using the mixture of wrapped skew-normal distributions. To estimate the parameters of mixture, we suggested the EM algorithm. Finally we verified the accuracy of the suggested algorithm through simulation studies. Application with real data is also considered.

A Study on Long-term Preservation of the Cultural Archetypes in Digital Audio Format (문화원형콘텐츠의 장기보존에 관한 연구 - 디지털 소리자료를 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study is to present some basic information essential for planning long-term preservation of digital audio files, which have been collected through 'Cultural Archetypes Digitization Project' by the Korea Culture & Content Agency. Needs and limitations of digitization of audio resources for their long-term preservation, digital audio archiving models(OAIS Reference Model and AHDS Model), some technical principles for audio digitization and preservation, preservation metadata and storing media for digital audio files were discussed. Compliance to the requisites listed in Audit Checklist for the Certification of Trusted Digital Repositories of RLG & NARA was suggested. It was also recommended to review the appropriateness of collaborating on digital preservation project with other institutions.

Circle Detection and Approximation for Inspecting a Fiber Optic Connector Endface (광섬유 연결 종단면 검사를 위한 원형 검출과 근사화 방법)

  • In the field of image recognition, circle detection is one of the most widely used techniques. Conventional algorithms are mainly based on Hough transform, which is the most straightforward algorithm for detecting circles and for providing enough robust algorithm. However, it suffers from large memory requirements and high computational loads, and sometimes tends to detect incorrect circles. This paper proposes an optimal circle detection and approximation method which is applicable for inspecting fiber optic connector endface. The proposed method finds initial center coordinates and radius based on the initial edge lines. Then, by introducing the simplified K-means algorithm, the proposed method investigates a substitute-circle by minimizing the area of non-overlapped regions. Through extensive simulations, it is shown that the proposed method can improve the error rate by as much as 67% and also can reduce the computing time by as much as 80%, compared to the Hough transform provided by the OpenCV library.
