Development of a General Purpose Simulator for Evaluation of Vehicle LIDAR Sensors and its Application (차량용 라이다 센서의 평가를 위한 범용 시뮬레이터 개발 및 적용)

  • In the development of autonomous vehicles, the importance of LIDAR sensors becomes larger. For sensor selection or algorithm development, it is difficult to test expensive LIDAR sensors mounted on a vehicle under various driving environment. In this study, we developed a simulator that is generally applicable for various vehicle LIDAR sensors based on the generalized geometric modeling of the common processes associated with vehicle LIDAR sensors. By configuring this simulator with the specific sensors being widely used, we performed the data simulation and quality analysis. Also, we applied the simulation data to obstacle detection and evaluated the applicability of the selected sensor. The developed simulator enables various experiments and algorithm development in parallel with hardware implementation prior to the deployment and operation of a sensor.

Analysis on the Long-Term Shoreline Changes for Beaches Near Bangpo Port Using Aerial Imagery (항공사진을 이용한 방포항 인근 해빈의 장기간 해안선 변화 분석)

  • To analyze tendency of temporal and spatial change of shorelines and to estimate rate of shoreline changes using long-term shoreline change data is very important for the coastal environmental management. In this study, investigation was conducted to estimate the rate of shoreline changes using long-term shoreline change data from the year 1985 to 2009 aerial photographs. In this process aerial triangulation, GPS surveying and digital mapping was done for the estimation of changes. As the results, shorelines of Bangpo and Kkotji Beach retreated at a maximum rate of 0.2 m/yr and 0.8 m/yr, respectively. The shoreline could be changed by various factors. However, it was presumed that coastal erosion has been mainly affected by retaining wall constructed in the late 1990s.

Change Detection Comparison of Multitemporal Infrared Satellite Imagery Using Relative Radiometric Normalization (상대 방사 정규화를 이용한 다시기 적외 위성영상의 변화탐지 비교)

  • The KOMPSAT-3A satellite acquires high-resolution MWIR images twice a day compared to conventional Earth observing satellites. New radiometric information of Earth's surface can be provided due to different characteristics from existing SWIR images or TIR images. In this study, the difference image of multitemporal images was generated and compared with existing infrared images to find the characteristics of KOMPSAT-3A MWIR satellite images. A co-registration was performed and the difference between pixel values was minimized by using PIFs (Pseudo Invariant Features) pixel-based relative normalization. The experiment using Sentinel-2 SWIR image, Landsat 8 TIR image, and KOMPSAT-3A MWIR image showed that the distinction between artifacts in the difference image of KOMPSAT-3A is prominent. It is believed that the utilization of KOMPSAT-3A MWIR images can be improved by using the characteristics of IR image.

  • In this paper, we proposed a system in a wireless LAN environment in case of security threats, the mobile terminal and the remote server-based WLAN security. The security of the wireless LAN environment in the recent technology in a variety of ways have been proposed and many products are being launched such as WIPS and DLP. However, these products are expensive and difficult to manage so very difficult to use in small businesses. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a security system, wireless LAN-based terminal and a remote server using whitelist according to development BYOD market and smartphone hardware. The proposed system that AP and personal device information to be stored on the server by an administrator and Application installed on a personal device alone, it has the advantage that can be Applicationlied to a variety of wireless network environment.

  • In 2004, Das et al. proposed a scheme for preserving a user anonymity. However, In 2005, Chien and Chen pointed out that Das et al. scheme fail to protect the user anonymity, and proposed a new scheme. And then in 2007, Hu et al. pointed out that Chien and Chen scheme also has some problems; it is Strong masquerading server/user attack, Restricted replay attack, Denial of service attack. it also slow wrong password detection, and proposed a new scheme. In 2008, Bindu et al. repeatedly pointed out on Chien and Chen scheme and proposed their scheme. However, we point out that all of their scheme also has some problems; it is not to protect the user anonymity and Denial of service attack. In addition, Bindu et al. is vulnerable to Strong masquerading server/user attack. Therefore, we demonstrate that their scheme also have some problems; it is the user anonymity and denial of service attack as above.

Image Registration of Cloudy Pushbroom Scanner Images (구름을 포함한 푸쉬브룸 스캐너 영상의 밴드간 상호등록)

  • Since PAN(panchromatic) and MS(multispectral) imagery of pushbroom scanner have the offset between PAN and MS CCD(charge coupled device) in the focal plane, PAN and MS images are acquired at different time and angle. Since clouds are fast moving objects, they should lead mis-registration problem with wrong matching points on clouds. The registration of cloudy imagery to recognize and remove the contamination of clouds can be categorized into three classes: (1) cloud is considered as nose and removed (2) employing multi-spectral imagery (3) using multi-temporal imagery. In this paper, method (1) and (3) are implemented and analysed with cloudy pushbroom scanner images.

  • Remote sensing technology has been continuously developed both quantitatively and qualitatively, including platform development, exploration area, and exploration functions. Recently, the use cases and related researches in the agricultural field are increasing. Also, since it is possible to detect and quantify the condition of cropland and establish management plans and policy support for cropland and agricultural environment, it is being studied in various fields such as crop growth abnormality determination and crop estimation based on time series information. The purpose of this study was to analyze the vegetation index for agricultural land reclamation area using a UAV equipped with a multi-spectral sensor. In addition, field surveys were conducted to evaluate the accuracy of vegetation indices calculated from multispectral image data obtained using UAV. The most appropriate vegetation index was derived by evaluating the correlation between vegetation index calculated by field survey and vegetation index calculated from UAV multispectral image, and was used to analyze vegetation index of the entire area.

  • Our society is currently exposed to environment of various information that is exchanged real time through networks. Especially regarding medical policy, the government rushes to practice remote medical treatment to improve the quality of medical services for citizens. The remote medical practice requires establishment of medical information based on big data for customized treatment regardless of where patients are. This study suggests establishment of regional medical cluster along with defense and protection cooperation models that in case service availability is harmed, and attacks occur, the attacks can be detected, and proper measures can be taken. For this, the study suggested forming networks with nationwide local government hospitals as regional virtual medical cluster bases by the same medical information system. The study also designed a mutual cooperation security model that can real time cope with IP Spoofing attack that can occur in the medical cluster and DDoS attacks accordingly, so that the limit that sole system and sole security policy have can be overcome.

  • CAS500-1 and CAS500-2 are high-resolution Earth-observing satellites being developed and scheduled to launch for land monitoring of Korea. The satellite information will be used for land usage analysis, change detection, 3D topological monitoring, and so on. Satellite image data of region of interests must be acquired in the stereo mode from different positions for 3D information generation. Accurate 3D processing and 3D display of stereo satellite data requires the epipolar image resampling process considering the pushbroom sensor and the satellite trajectory. This study developed an epipolar image resampling module for CAS-500 stereo data processing and verified its accuracy performance by testing along-track, across-track, and heterogeneous stereo data.

Road Extraction from High Resolution Satellite Image Using Object-based Road Model (객체기반 도로모델을 이용한 고해상도 위성영상에서의 도로 추출)

  • The importance of acquisition of road information has recently been increased with a rapid growth of spatial-related services such as urban information system and location based service. This paper proposes an automatic road extraction method using object-based approach which was issued alternative of pixel-based method recently. Firstly, the spatial objects were created by MSRS(Modified Seeded Region Growing) method, and then the key road objects were extracted by using properties of objects such as their shape feature information and adjacency. The omitted road objects were also traced considering spatial correlation between extracted road and their neighboring objects. In the end, the final road region was extracted by connecting discontinuous road sections and improving road surfaces through their geometric properties. To assess the proposed method, quantitative analysis was carried out. From the experiments, the proposed method generally showed high road detection accuracy and had a great potential for the road extraction from high resolution satellite images.
