Design of Multiple Channel Wireless Remote Control System for Unmanned Vehicle (무인차량용 다중채널 무선원격 제어시스템의 설계)

  • In this paper, a design of multiple channel wireless remote control system for unmanned vehicle is proposed. One of serious problems of the previous wireless remote control system is that it does not work when a control channel is damaged in case of emergency because it's composed of single control channel. Therefore, we propose the multiple channel wireless remote system which is composed of a portable wireless remote controller and a stationary wireless remote controller. The portable wireless remote controller and stationary wireless remote controller are designed and the multiple channel wireless remote control system for unmanned vehicles in developed. By applying to the unmanned vehicle to check its performance. The wireless remote control system is tested. Emergency stop using the portable wireless remote controller is tested when the stationary wireless remote controller is damaged. Also, emergency stop using the stationary wireless remote controller is tested when the portable wireless remote controller is damaged. The result of emergency stop test shows satisfied performance.

  • To enhance learning efficiency, we implement a hybrid experimental system for electrical and electronic circuits where web-based virtual laboratory system and distant education system are properly integrated. In the first stage, we developed web-based virtual laboratory systems for electrical/electronic circuit experiments, which are composed of three important sessions and their management system: concept learning, virtual experiment, assessment. In the second stage, we have implemented cost-effective distant laboratory systems for practicing electric/electronic circuits, which can be used to eliminate the lack of reality occurred during virtual laboratory session. The proposed virtual/ distant laboratory systems can be used in stand-alone fashion, but to enhance learning efficiency we integrated them and developed a creative hybrid experimental system for electric and electronic circuits.

입체영상과 평면영상의 원격조작성 비교

  • 본 논문에서는 개발된 편광방식 스테레오 모니터링(KAERI-PSM) 시스템의 성능을 평가하기 위해 6 D.O.F.의 퓨마 로보트를 이용한 원격조작 실험을 수행하였다. 카메라의 관측각도를 달리하는 3가지 원격조작실험은 6명의 실험자가 힘반향 조이스틱을 사용하여 로보트 암을 (1)직접 (2)일반 평면모니터 및 (3)개발된 편광방식 스테레오 영상 모니터를 통하여 보면서 6가지의 조합된 방법으로 총 36번 수행하여 걸린 평균시간과 평균 에러 발생 수를 비교하는 것이다. 실험 결과 스테레오 영상 모니터를 사용한 경우 일반 평면모니터를 이용했을 때 보다 훨씬 짧은 시간에 정확히 원격작업을 수행할 수 있었으며, 물체 이동에 대한 카메라의 각도가 실험의 주요한 변수가 됨을 알 수 있었다.

A Web-based Education System with Remote Experimentation Environment for Embedded Systems Education (원격실험실 환경을 제공하는 임베디드 시스템 활용 교육을 위한 웹기반 교육 시스템)

  • In this paper, a web-based, advanced education system for embedded systems have been implemented, which provide students reality through remote controlled experiment environment when they conduct experiments through web, in addition to the creative multimedia contents. Students can use the server-side remote experiment environment through telnet client using Java technology to conduct a variety of experiments on the embedded system remotely. Our system can be used as economical education tools for expensive experiment equipments in shared fashion through web as well as effective and convenient ones for embedded systems anywhere and anytime when internet access is available, compensating for lack in reality of virtual educations.

  • 본 논문에서는 주로 정보의 전달에 치우쳐 있는 인터넷이라는 훌륭한 네트워크를 각종 디바이스나 센서로부터 추출되는 정보를 원격으로 수집하고 분석 및 가공하여 반대로 멀리 떨어져 있는 디바이스나 센서를 제어할 수 있는 살아 움직이는 응용분야에 눈을 돌려보았다. 처음에는 Visual C++에 의한 소켓프로그래밍 및 원격제어장비와의 네트워크 프로그래밍에 중점을 두었으나 그 기초 위에 센서의 제어프로그래밍인 디지털 온도센서의 제어를 Visual C++에 의한 다이얼로그 기반으로 프로그래밍화 하였다. 프로그래밍의 원활한 작업 결과를 토대로 원격 실험 결과가 기초적이나마 완성됨을 결과로서 표시하면서 좀더 발달한 원격 제어 실험이 될 수 있도록 매진하여야 겠다.

  • This paper is concerned with the development of remote engineering laboratory using the internet. Recently, various virtual laboratories are introduced using the multimedia technologies but the internet laboratory using the real hardware system is not present. In this study, we developed the remote engineering laboratory by combining the GPIB program which controls the hardwares with the web programming which controls the internet. The function generator, LCR meter, and oscilloscope were considered as the measurement devices. The client program includes the user-interface which carry out experiment remotely. Several electrical experiments were set up to verify the experimental process. It has been found that the remote engineering experiments are feasible and valid. The methodologies will be discussed in detail.

  • 본 연구에서는 실험 실습 가상교육 또는 원격 교육 콘텐츠가 학습 효과를 향상할 수 있는 효과적인 교육 수단으로 인정되고 있으나 원격에서 실험 실습을 하기위한 환경구성의 어려움을 극복을 위한 방안으로 웹 기반의 하드웨어 원격제어 기술을 이용하여, 임베디드 시스템 활용 교육을 위한 가상교육 시스템을 구현 하였다. 본 가상교육 시스템의 구성은 서버 시스템과 학습 시스템으로 되어 있다. 서버 시스템은 컴파일 서버, 원격 실습 서버, 웹 서버, Telnet 서버, 웹 카메라 서버 등으로 구성한다. 학습 시스템은 이론 강의, 가상 실습, 원격 실습의 세 부분으로 구성한다. 본 연구에서 구현한 시스템은 원격지에서의 프로세서 실습 환경을 제공하기 위해 웹에서 동작하는 Telnet 클라이언트를 제작하여 임베디드 하드웨어를 제어한다. 또한 이론학습 과정을 별도로 구성하고, 원격제어가 불가능한 개발환경 구축 과정은 가상 실습으로 학습하게 하였다. 이러한 점을 활용하여 임베디드 시스템의 효율적인 학습이 가능하다.

Sharing Eye Gaze in Mixed Reality Remote Collaboration System (원격협업 시스템에서 협력자 눈 시점 공유)

  • This paper explored the effect of using eye gaze pointer in addition to the hand gesture visual communication cue in remote collaboration. We recruited 24 participants and conducted a user study comparing two conditions: (1) only hand gesture visual communication cue, and (2) eye gaze pointer with hand gesture visual cue. The results showed that the added eye gaze pointer cue reduced the workload and increased the co-presence when using it together with hand gesture cue.

  • We propose an grid-based research system that replays the experiment by storing and reusing the previous experiment result data in performing remote experiment from a distance. The proposed system was designed for the real-time hybrid test facility which is being built in Korea Construction Engineering Development(KOCED) Project. To provide users with various data, the experiment result data are maintained by the distributed streaming servers based on the publish/subscribe paradigm. Based on the data characteristics of our project, we compared analyzed the performance of the one-streaming-server case and the distributed-multiple-streaming-server case.

Science Education Experts' Perception of the Remote Laboratory Sessions Provoked by COVID-19 (COVID-19으로 인해 촉발된 원격 실험 수업에 대한 과학교육 전문가들의 인식)

  • This study investigated science education experts' perception of remote laboratory sessions (RLS) provoked by the COVID-19 pandemic. We conducted a total of 10 semi-structured interviews with experts in physics, chemistry, biology, and earth science education. As a result, science education experts primarily understood the RLS concerning pre-service teacher education and reconsidered the aim and goal of conventional laboratory education. On practices of RLS provoked by the COVID-19, they pointed out the learning loss due to deficiency of hands-on experience, decreased interactions between instructor and students, and instructors' increased burden. Meanwhile, they contemplated upon their adaptive implementation of RLS to suggest ways to improve RLS instruction and directions of post-COVID-19 science education. We recommend that RLS should be understood as a complemented version of minds-on teaching rather than a degraded version of hands-on teaching to elicit its full potentials. This study has its own significance providing an in-depth science educational perspective interpreting the RLS phenomena.
