Direction of Development of Reaction to Bio-terrorism (생물테러리즘 대응을 위한 기술적 측면의 발전방향)

  • This study examines the concepts of counter-act against the Bio-terrorism and the reaction system in advanced countries, thereby to find out reaction system necessary to Korea. Acts on anti-Bio-terrorism is divided to detection stage, protection stage, diagnosis stage and detoxication and neutralization stage according to flow of event occurrence. As for detection stage, Korea is developing it as contact type, while advanced countries are under development of the devices that may detect the terrorism from the remote distance. It is necessary for Korea to develop the remote-distant detection system as well as the contact type of device that may promptly operate. Among the protection gears, the quality of Korea's gas mask is recognized worldwide, but that of other outfits should be improved by applying the state-of-art science technology. The diagnosis device also should be developed to the extent that the dispatched initial action team may make immediate decisions necessary in the field. As the current trends for detoxication materials worldwide require the improvement to new materials harmless to human body and equipment, Korea is also required to acquire those materials. The technology for neutralization means the development of vaccine and antibiotics and it requires the development made by shared efforts worldwide. For this purpose, it is necessary to further develop Korea's medical technology. In addition, the further efforts are required in terms of reaction manual, training model, public communication efforts and preparation for trauma syndrome.

Effect of Velocity-Pulse-Like Ground Motions on Seismic Fragility of Bridges (교량의 지진취약도에 대한 속도 펄스를 가진 지반운동의 영향)

  • Pulse-like ground motion can cause greater damage to structures than nonpulse-like ground motion. Currently, much research is being conducted to determine the presence or absence of velocity pulses and to quantify them from seismic-acceleration records. Existing ground motion is divided into far-field (FF) and near-fault ground motion, based on the distance of the measurement point from the fault. Near-fault ground motion is further classified into near-fault pulse-like (NFP) and near-fault nonpulse-like (NFNP) ground motion by quantifying the presence or absence of velocity pulses. For each ground motion group, 40 FF, 40 NFP, and 40 NFNP ground motions are selected; thus, 120 ground motions are used in the seismic analysis to assess the seismic fragility of sample bridges. Probabilistic seismic demand models (PSDMs) are created by evaluating the seismic responses of two types of sample bridges with lead-rubber and elastomeric rubber bearings using three groups of ground motions. Seismic fragility analysis is performed using the PSDM, and from these results, the effect of the presence or absence of seismic velocity pulses on the seismic fragility is evaluated. From the comparison results of the seismic fragility curve, the seismic fragility of NFP ground motion appears to be approximately three to five times greater than that of NFNP ground motion, according to the presence or absence of a velocity pulse of seismic waves. This means that the damage to the bridge is greater in the case of NFP ground motion than that in the case of NFNP ground motion.

Multiple TIP Images Blending for Wide Virtual Environment (넓은 가상환경 구축을 위한 다수의 TIP (Tour into the Picture) 영상 합성)

  • Image-based rendering is an approach to generate realistic images in real-time without modeling explicit 3D geometry. Especially, owing to its simplicity, TIP(Tour Into the Picture) is preferred to constructing a 3D background scene. Because existing TIP methods have a limitation in that they lack geometrical information, we can not expect a accurate scene if the viewpoint is far from the origin of the TIP. In this paper, we propose the method of constructing a virtual environment of a wide area by blending multiple TIP images. Firstly, we construct multiple TIP models of the virtual environment. Then we interpolate foreground and background objects respectively, to generate a smooth navigation image. The method proposed here can be applied to various industry applications, such as computer game, 3D car navigation, and so on.

Optimal Time Scheduling Algorithm for Decoupled RF Energy Harvesting Networks (비결합 무선 에너지 하비스팅 네트워크를 위한 최적 시간 스케줄링 알고리즘)

  • Conventional RF energy harvesting systems can harvest energy and decode information from same source as an Hybirid-AP (H-AP). However, harvesting efficiency is seriously dependent on distance between users and H-AP. Therefore, in this paper, we proposed a transmission model for RF harvesting consisting of information and power source separately called Decoupled RF Energy harvesting networks. Main purpose of this paper is to maximize energy efficiency under various constraints of transmit power from H-AP and power beacon (PB), minimum quality of service and quality of harvested power of each users. To measure proposed model's performance, we proposed optimal time scheduling algorithms for energy efficiency (EE) maximization using Lagrangian dual decomposition theory that locally maximizes the EE by obtaining suboptimal values of three arguments : transmit power of H-AP, transmit power of PB, frame splitting factor. Experiment results show that the proposed energy-efficient algorithms converge within a few iterations with its optimality and greatly improve the EE compared to that of baseline schemes.

A Study on the Windows Application Control Model Based on Leap Motion (립모션 기반의 윈도우즈 애플리케이션 제어 모델에 관한 연구)

  • With recent rapid development of computer capabilities, various technologies that can facilitate the interaction between humans and computers are being studied. The paradigm tends to change to NUI using the body such as 3D motion, haptics, and multi-touch with GUI using traditional input devices. Various studies have been conducted on transferring human movements to computers using sensors. In addition to the development of optical sensors that can acquire 3D objects, the range of applications in the industrial, medical, and user interface fields has been expanded. In this paper, I provide a model that can execute other programs through gestures instead of the mouse, which is the default input device, and control Windows based on the lip motion. To propose a model which converges with an Android application and can be controlled by various media and voice instruction functions using voice recognition and buttons through connection with a main client. It is expected that Internet media such as video and music can be controlled not only by a client computer but also by an application at a long distance and that convenient media viewing can be performed through the proposal model.

  • 급격한 기후변화에 기인하여 전 세계적으로 거듭되는 돌발홍수로 인한 피해가 급격히 증가하고 있는 실정이다. 우리나라에서도 최근 중소 규모의 하천 뿐 아니라 도시 생활하천, 도심지 저지대에서 갑작스런 홍수와 침수로 인해 많은 인명과 재산 피해를 경험하고 있다. 이런 문제를 인식하여 최근 정부차원에서 다양한 센서와 인공지능에 기반하는 많은 인프라 및 연구 투자가 이루어지고 있지만, 높은 설치 및 운영 비용과 우리나라의 복잡한 하천 환경 특성으로 인해 소하천이나 도심지 저지대에서는 그 효율성을 제대로 발휘하지 못하고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 주변환경의 변화에 강인한 복합 센서단말을 통해, 하천 정보(유량, 유속, 수위 등)을 실시간 측정하고, 해당지역의 특성을 고려한 하천 또는 저지대의 위험도를 스스로 판단할 수 있는 기술을 제안한다. 또한, 본 논문에서는 제안한 저비용 초소형의 단말 장치로 지점의 하천 정보를 실시간 측정하여 IoT망을 통해 3차원 하천 디지털트윈 모델로 전달하여, 유속과 수위를 그대로 재연함으로써, 하천 침수 위험 감시의 효율성을 검증하였다. 3차원 DEM(Digital Elevation Models) 데이터와 실제 하천을 관측한 데이터를 이용한 디지털트윈 검증 결과, 데이터 전송 지연시간을 감안하여 3초 이내에 하천의 수위와 유속이 3차원 모델에 반영되는 것을 확인하였다. 이 결과로부터 열악한 환경에서도 실시간 하천 상황을 원거리에서 모니터링 할 수 있으며, 강우와 유출에 따른 하천 홍수 메카니즘을 새롭게 시뮬레이션할 수 있는 방법론을 제시할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

ACMs-based Human Shape Extraction and Tracking System for Human Identification (개인 인증을 위한 활성 윤곽선 모델 기반의 사람 외형 추출 및 추적 시스템)

  • Research on human identification in ubiquitous environment has recently attracted a lot of attention. As one of those research, gait recognition is an efficient method of human identification using physical features of a walking person at a distance. In this paper, we present a human shape extraction and tracking for gait recognition using geodesic active contour models(GACMs) combined with mean shift algorithm The active contour models (ACMs) are very effective to deal with the non-rigid object because of its elastic property. However, they have the limitation that their performance is mainly dependent on the initial curve. To overcome this problem, we combine the mean shift algorithm with the traditional GACMs. The main idea is very simple. Before evolving using level set method, the initial curve in each frame is re-localized near the human region and is resized enough to include the targe region. This mechanism allows for reducing the number of iterations and for handling the large object motion. The proposed system is composed of human region detection and human shape tracking modules. In the human region detection module, the silhouette of a walking person is extracted by background subtraction and morphologic operation. Then human shape are correctly obtained by the GACMs with mean shift algorithm. In experimental results, the proposed method show that it is extracted and tracked efficiently accurate shape for gait recognition.

  • In this paper, we present Hand-gesture recognition for actual computing into color images from camera. Color images are binarization and labeling by using the YCbCr Color model. Respectively label area seeks the center point of the hand from to search Maximum Inscribed Circle which applies Voronoi-Diagram. This time, searched maximum circle and will analyze the elliptic ingredient which is contiguous so a hand territory will be able to extract. we present the presentation contral system using elliptic element and Maximum Inscribed Circle. This algorithm is to recognize the various environmental problems in the hand gesture recognition in the background objects with similar colors has the advantage that can be effectively eliminated.

FDTD Modeling using 3D CAD File of Hand-Held Mobile Phone (휴대폰의 3차원 CAD 파일을 이용한 FDTD 모델링)

  • In this paper, we propose a method that directly converts 3D CAD files for handheld phones designed by a commercial CAD S/W, PATRAN, to FDTD modeling with 1mm resolution. To qualify the accuracy of this method, we compared the calculation of radiation pattern using 3D transient far zone transformation with the measured results by gain comparison method in anechoic chamber and the difference is less than 0.5 dB. The calculation of magnetic field distributions on the front of handheld phones has been done to find a factor contributes to SAR. The result showed up the H-field in the width direction of the phone gives more dominant effect than the field in the length or inside to the front direction.

  • this study, helicopter rotor flow is simulated by using a tightly coupled CFD/FreeWake method to describe wake characteristics and to calculate the flow field and rotor aerodynamics. In this tightly coupled CFD/FreeWake method, freewake model provides the boundary condition required in the CFD calculation and CFD provides the pressure distribution on blade surface used in feewake generation. To show the advantage of this method, the pressure distributions on blade surface of a hovering 2-bladed rotor are compared with other numerical methods. This tightly coupled CFD/FreeWake method shows good accuracy in the predicted results and efficient computation time.
