The research described in this report was conducted to find out how elements of the natural environment contributed to the formation of Chang'an, how its water system reinforced its status as the capital city, and what role it took for its urban function based on studies of the canal constructions. During the period of Sui and Tang, Chang'an built a sophisticated water system using Qu(渠), the irrigation facilities. In the water system, hills are called Yuan(原), and rivers with the proper environment to be developed plan into urban infrastructure facilities for irrigation water, urban living water, the composition of garden-based facility, reservoirs, and others. They improve agricultural productivity and, consequently, increase the city's competitiveness as well as contributing to the urban infrastructure, serving as a convenient source and ensuring the quality of life was abundant. So, the urban effects of the water system have raised the capital's status. With the contribution of its pragmatic water system, Chang'an not only performed its urban function brilliantly, but also established itself more firmly as a capital city.
This experiment was designed to optimize the process of manufacturing the soybean cheeses and to elucidate the chemical changes during ripening when the chemical changes during ripening when the milk components and enzyme preparations were added to the raw materials. Conditions for extracting soybean protein such as temperature, duration and amount of water added were determined; various coagulaters were compared by checking the curd texture and yield; starters from S. thermophilus, S. lactis MLB and S. cremoris EB-9 were tested as single- or multi-stain combinations; and the effects of skim milk and/or rennins-both microbial and calf origin-addition upon the process of manufacturing and ripening were studied. The results obtained were as follows. 1. optimal conditions for soybean extraction were found to be: temperature $100^{\circ}C$, duration 10 minutes, and amount of water added 9-fold, as considered the extraction rate of solids and proteins, and curd yield. 2. Sodium gluconate was the most effective among the coagulators tested, and 5% of single-strain starter from S. thermophilus was appered to be adequate inoculum for curd formation. 3. The effects of skim milk and/or rennins addition on the process of manufacturing and ripening of soybean cheeses were: 1) The addition of rennins resulted in fast formation of curd, especially with skim milk it was so. And Hansen rennet extracts brought better results in curd formation than Meito rennet extracts did. 2) No significant effect was observed on the changes in moisture content during ripening, however the levels of moisture contents in the products were higher in case of using Meito rennet extracts. 3) Effect on pH changes during ripening was also not significant in general, while levels of pH were decrease markedly during manufacturing and the initial stage of ripening. 4) The levels of bacterial counts were much higher in case of skim milk addition throughtout the ripening period. In general the numbers were reached to approximately $10^8cells/g$ during manufacturing, then decreased gradually to below $10^2cells/g$ in 8 weeks of ripening. 5) The addition of skim milk and/or rennin resulted in higher ripening index, and skim milk plus Meito rennet extracts was appeared to be best combination for the ripening index.

Modernity in costumes is analyzed as the preference of change and novelty, the formation of the masses, and the aspect of function, which is transplanted by western modernization. However, it is seem that the factor of modernity in Japanese traditional costume history. This study examines the Proto-modernity in Japanese traditional costume history. First, this study examines the term 'Imamekashiki' which means the present time. Because of the recognition of every present time arises from the recognition and the preference of change and novelty. In the pre-modem Era, this study examines the masses formed by the publication and the play, Kabuki. This study provides an alternative answer to understanding what is to 'wear clothes' for Japanese people.

The purpose of this study is to analyse the dynamic disturbances(disturbed forces and disturbed torques) due to attitude control thruster's plume impingement on the solar arrays. To produce database of the dynamic disturbances a sweep analysis was done, in which the two parameters are used; the distance between the thruster and solar arrays and the thruster tilt angle. Based on the database, a third order polynomial approximation is computed to represent the characteristics of the disturbed forces and torques. The final results are the coefficients of the approximation for each solar array angle position. These results as input data are used to optimize the configuration of the attitude control thrusters. This analysis is appled to the two candidate solar arrays for Geo-Kompsat-2 satellite and the results of the disturbed forces and disturbed torques are compared and analysed.
Even though the price of extracted but unprocessed coal has been available in Korea, the use of it as scarcity index would be inappropriate because of price subsidy. Following Halvorsen and Smith(1984), Kim and Lee(2002) derived estimates of the shadow price of unextracted coal by estimating the restricted cost function and differentiating with respect to the quantity of coal extracted. In Korea, however, due to the limited data the capital prices have been computed inconsistently case by case without relying on the robust formula like the Christensen-Jorgenson methodology used in US, which could result in biased estimators of the restricted cost function. In the paper the shadow prices of the resources in situ are obtained by measuring an input distance function defined by Shephard (1970), which requires only the data on the quantities of inputs and output. Empirical results for the Korean coal mining industry show that these shadow prices as a coal scarcity have increased fast by approximately three times in comparisons with those obtained by Kim and Lee.

The acceleration levels and durations of seismic inputs for nuclear power plant design are surveyed. Among those inputs, two artificial acceleration time histories with same acceleration level and duration are selected and their characteristics are studied by calculating response spectra and spectrum intensity. The selected time histories which have the duration of 24 sec. satisfy the design response spectra of US Nuclear Regulatory Commission Regulatory Guide 1. 60. One of the selected time histories is improved to have the duration of 15 sec. without significant changes in the other characteristics. A case study of a plane model with 3 lumped masses is done using three time histories, i.e, two selected and one improved time histories. It is found that the improved curve gives almost the same results as the original one and reduces the computer time by about half, whereas two selected time histories give the results with same trend but much different magnitudes each other. It is claimed, however, that the improved time history is not the optimal one, but very economical in practical applications.
This experiment was carried out to investigate the effect of lime and phosphorus on soil and yield of rice plants in acid sulfate soil. 1. Lime requirement plus phosphorus (20Kg/10a) plot showed 60% increased in yield. 2. The effect of increase was 36% in lime and 15% in phosphorus. 3. pH and Eh were reversed each other by lime application, and lime and phosphorus increased soil reduction. 4. Sixty two percent of root was distributed in top soil (0-5cm) of control plot while it spreaed in sub soil (5-10cm) with high level of lime and phosphorus plot. 5. Soil pH reached maximum at maximum tillering stage and decreased there after approching near to original pH. But lime requirement was about half of original one. 6. There was significant positive correlation between yield silica or phosphorus in soil, which were high with increase of pH. 7. The application of lime and phosphorus increased nitrogen content in plants. When contents of phosphorus in rice plants were high the yield of rice was increased.

This study aims to explore the cultural contact experience of the Vietnamese Marriage Immigrant's between Vietnamese and Korean culture which is based on the traditional holidays. In order to achieve the goal of this study, this study was conducted by case study method and the data collection was conducted through in - depth interviews with 7 Vietnamese marriage immigrant women. The results of the study are as follows. While Vietnamese married immigrant women have become familiar with Korean culture by experiencing Korean culture while experiencing their own culture, they are experiencing a lot of conflicts due to cultural differences between their home country and Korea. However, they were able to confirm their aggressive adaptation in their domestic and social environments through their experience of traditional Korean festivals. Based on these findings, this study proposes the following suggestions for successful immigrant marriage immigration. First, for a harmonious family life in a Vietnamese multicultural families, it is not a one-way education for married immigrant women, but a mutual culture Education should proceed. Second, marriage immigrant women expressed the feeling that they did not feel family bond and communication in the holiday place. Therefore, it is necessary to acquire the function of traditional festival that promotes the bond of community with more specific programs and events related to traditional festivals do.
To solve the problems with excessive accumulation of soil inorganic N and resulting saline soils from overuse of nitrogen fertilizer, the effect of sucrose application on decrease of soil inorganic N content and electrical conductivity (EC) was studied. Sucrose treatment greatly reduced ${NH_4}^+$-N content in soil. The amount of reduction was greater as the amount of sucrose treatment was increased. When ${NH_4}^+$-N content was reached the lowest point (about 10 mg $kg^{-1}$or lower), the C/N ratio, which determines the amount of sucrose treatment, was around 10 regardless of initial ${NH_4}^+$-N content. For the rate of ${NH_4}^+$-N reduction 15~36 hours was required to reduce the initial ${NH_4}^+$-N content to half, and 36~69 hours to lower ${NH_4}^+$-N content to the lowest point (about 10 mg $kg^{-1}$or lower). In addition, sucrose treatment greatly lowered ${NO_3}^-$-N content. In case of C/N ratio above 10, initial ${NO_3}^-$-N content of 348 mg $kg^{-1}$ was reduced to the lowest of 14~21 mg $kg^{-1}$. As for the rate of ${NO_3}^-$-N reduction by sucrose treatment, it took 36~60 hours for ${NO_3}^-$-N content to reach the lowest point for C/N ratio of 10 or higher, and it took 3 weeks, comparably longer time, for C/N ratio of 5. Lowering soil EC from sucrose treatment showed the same trend as ${NO_3}^-$-N content. As an important energy and carbon source for humankind, sugar should not be wasted and must be carefully applied to soil. In principle, the best way of preventing salt accumulation in soil is to optimize the fertilizer input. However, when over-fertilization should be dealt with, the sucrose treatment would be a possible and effective counter-measure to reduce overdosed nitrogen sources in soil.
The basic intent of this thesis lies in proposing a meaningful direction of developing cultural content by combining Asian traditional dance forms which hold cultural closeness in common historically. For this study, this paper selected Oyangseon(五羊仙; 'Five Taoist Hermits on Five Sheep'), a Korean court dance of Chinese origin as an example as the Oyangseon story is commonly found in ancient Vietnam and China as well as Korea. Its original narrative is a mythic story that five hermits had come down to ancient Vietnam region riding on five sheep of five colors to bestow 6 ears of milets to people. Later, the story was spread to other regions to be reformed into Woljeongjeon(越井傳; Vietnam), Choi Wee(崔?; China) and Oyangseon(Korea) that have different plot and background. While Woljeongjeon and Choi Wee were adapted into novels that describe the hero Choi Wee's mysterious adventure to be repaid his father's previous devotion to ancient King's shrine. Meanwhile, the epic narrative of Korean Oyangseon proves the modification of the original myth by adding a Seowangmo(西王母; a Chinese mythic heavenly queen) motif while it was enacted as a court dance to praise king's long life and pray country's prosperity following Confucian concept. Based on this historical lineage of Oyangseon story, I searched for the possiblity of constructing a cultural content program by combining the Oyangseon dance of three countries. While there was Oyangseonmu(五羊仙舞) in China which was recently composed by referring to Korean Oyangseon, any traditional dance item based on Oyangseon story was not available in Vietnam. Thus, I tried to propose the Vietnam Dance College to choreograph a new dance item with Woljeongjeon story while using the traditional dance technique, music, costume, etc. of Vietnam as most as possible. As a result, I could display a direction of developing a cultural content by staging three countries' dance items based on Oyangseon story at Korean National Haneul Theater in Oct 2016.
