Medical imagery require to protect the privacy with preserving the quality of the original contents. Therefore, reversible watermarking is a solution for this purpose. Previous researches have focused on general imagery and achieved high capacity and high quality. However, they raise a distortion over entire image and hence are not applicable to medical imagery which require to preserve the quality of the objects. In this paper, we propose a novel reversible watermarking for medical imagery, which preserve the quality of the objects and achieves high capacity. First, object and background region is segmented and then predicted error histogram-based reversible watermarking is applied for each region. For the efficient watermark embedding with small distortion in the object region, the embedding level at object region is set as low while the embedding level at background region is set as high. In experiments, the proposed algorithm is compared with the previous predicted error histogram-based algorithm in aspects of embedding capacity and perceptual quality. Results support that the proposed algorithm performs well over the previous algorithm.

Cryptographic algorithms are used to prevent the illegal manipulation of data. They are divided into public-key cryptosystems and symmetric-key cryptosystems. Public-key cryptosystems require considerable time for encryption and decryption compared to symmetric-key cryptosystem. On the other hand, key management, and delivery are easier for public-key cryptosystems than symmetric-key cryptosystems because different keys are used for encryption and decryption. Furthermore, hash functions are being used very effectively to verify the integrity of the digital content, as they always generate output with a fixed size using the data of various sizes as input. This paper proposes a method using RSA public-key cryptography and a hash function to determine if a digital image is deformed or not and to detect the manipulated location. In the proposed method, the entire image is divided into several blocks, 64×64 in size. The watermark is then allocated to each block to verify the deformation of the data. When deformation occurs, the manipulated pixel will be divided into smaller 4×4 sub-blocks, and each block will have a watermark to detect the location. The safety of the proposed method depends on the security of the cryptographic algorithm and the hash function.
As one of schemes to protect multimedia content. it is the selective encryption scheme to encrypt partially multimedia content. Compared AES(advanced encryption standard) of traditional encryption, the selective encryption scheme provides low security but is applicable to applications of multimedia content not to require high secrecy. In this paper, we improve the image scrambling scheme proposed by Van De Ville which scrambles an image without bandwidth expansion using DPSS(discrete prolate spheroidal sequence) to make it more secure based on Shujun's research which verifies the secrecy of Van De Ville's scheme. The proposed method utilizes an orthonormalized random matrix instead of Hadamard matrix for secret matrix and to add it for providing high secrecy against statistical attack or known-plaintext attack using some statistical property or estimate of secret matrix from a scrambled image. The experimental results show that the proposed method is more secure than the existing scheme. In addition, we show that the proposed method can be applied to access control or copy control of watermarking application.
Digital watermarking is to embed imperceptible mark into image, video, audio, and text data to prevent the illegal copy of multimedia data. arbitrary modification, and also illegal sales of the copies without agreement of copyright ownership. In this paper, we study for the embedding and extraction of watermark key using wavelet in the luminance signal in order to implement the system to protect the copyright for image MPEG. First, the original image is analyzed into frequency domain by discrete wavelet transform. The RSA(Rivest, Shamir, Aldeman) public key of the coded target is RUN parameter of VLD(variable length coding). Because the high relationship among the adjacent RUN parameters effect the whole image, it prevents non-authorizer not to possess private key from behaving illegally. The Results show that the proposed method provides better moving picture and the distortion more key of insert than direct coded method on low-frequency domain based DCT.

Generally, watermarking can be used copyright for contents such as audios, videos, images, and texts. With the development of Internet, many malicious attackers illegally copy relational databases synchronized applications Therefore, it is needed for the protection of databases copyright, because databases involve various sensitive information such as personal information, information industry, and secret national intelligence. Thus, the protection of relational databases is a major research field in the databases research topics. In this paper, we will review previous researches related the protection of relational databases and propose new method for relational data. Especially, we propose watermarking scheme for databases using reversible method in this paper. As an experimental result, the proposed scheme is very strong to malicious attacks. In addition, we proved our proposed scheme is to apply real application.
This paper describes an error resilient video data transmission method using information hiding. In order to localize transmission errors in receiver, video encoder embeds one bit for a macro block during encoding process. Embedded information is detected during decoding process in the receiver, and the transmission errors can be localized by comparing the original embedding data. The localized transmission errors can be easily corrected, thus the degradation in a reconstructed image can be alleviated. Futhermore, the embedded information can be applied to protect intellectual property rights of the video data. Experimental results for 3 QCIF sized video sequenced composed of 150 frames respectively show that, while degradation in video streams in which the information is embedded is negligible, especially in a noisy channel, the average PSNR of reconstructed images can be improved about 5 dB by using embedded information. Also, intellectual property rights information can be effectively obtained from reconstructed images.

In this paper, we proposed a hardware(H/W) structure which can compress and recontruct the input image in real time operation and implemented it into a FPGA platform using VHDL(VHSIC Hardware Description Language). All the image processing element to process both compression and reconstruction in a FPGA were considered each of them was mapped into H/W with the efficient structure for FPGA. We used the DWT(discrete wavelet transform) which transforms the data from spatial domain to the frequency domain, because use considered the motion JPEG2000 as the application. The implemented H/W is separated to both the data path part and the control part. The data path part consisted of the image processing blocks and the data processing blocks. The image processing blocks consisted of the DWT Kernel fur the filtering by DWT, Quantizer/Huffman Encoder, Inverse Adder/Buffer for adding the low frequency coefficient to the high frequency one in the inverse DWT operation, and Huffman Decoder. Also there existed the interface blocks for communicating with the external application environments and the timing blocks for buffering between the internal blocks The global operations of the designed H/W are the image compression and the reconstruction, and it is operated by the unit of a field synchronized with the A/D converter. The implemented H/W used the 69%(16980) LAB(Logic Array Block) and 9%(28352) ESB(Embedded System Block) in the APEX20KC EP20K600CB652-7 FPGA chip of ALTERA, and stably operated in the 70MHz clock frequency. So we verified the real time operation of 60 fields/sec(30 frames/sec).

Traditional watermarking technologies are symmetric method which embedding and detection keys are the same. Although the symmetric watermarking method is easy to detect the watermark, this method has weakness against to malicious attacks remove or modify the watermark information when the symmetric key is disclosure. Recently, the asymmetric watermarking method that has different keys to embed and detect is watched by several researchers as a next generation watermarking technology. In this paper, hybrid asymmetric watermarking algorithm is proposed. This algorithm is composed of correlation detection method and critical criteria method. Each method can be individually used to detect watermark from a watermarked content. Hybrid asymmetric detection is complement between two methods, and more feasible than when each method is used respectively, Private key and public key are generated by secure linear transformation and specific matrix. As a result, we have proved the proposed algorithm is secured than symmetric watermarking algorithms. This algorithm can expand to multi bits embedding watermark system and is robust to JPEG and JPEG2000 compression.
Nowadays there are a lot of issues about copyright infringement in the Internet world because the digital content on the network can be copied and delivered easily. Indeed the copied version has same quality with the original one. So, copyright owners and content provider want a powerful solution to protect their content. The popular one of the solutions was DRM (digital rights management) that is based on encryption technology and rights control. However, DRM-free service was launched after Steve Jobs who is CEO of Apple proposed a new music service paradigm without DRM, and the DRM is disappeared at the online music market. Even though the online music service decided to not equip the DRM solution, copyright owners and content providers are still searching a solution to protect their content. A solution to replace the DRM technology is digital audio watermarking technology which can embed copyright information into the music. In this paper, the author proposed a new audio watermarking algorithm with two approaches. First, the watermark information is generated by two dimensional barcode which has error correction code. So, the information can be recovered by itself if the errors fall into the range of the error tolerance. The other one is to use chirp sequence of CDMA (code division multiple access). These make the algorithm robust to the several malicious attacks. There are many 2D barcodes. Especially, QR code which is one of the matrix barcodes can express the information and the expression is freer than that of the other matrix barcodes. QR code has the square patterns with double at the three corners and these indicate the boundary of the symbol. This feature of the QR code is proper to express the watermark information. That is, because the QR code is 2D barcodes, nonlinear code and matrix code, it can be modulated to the spread spectrum and can be used for the watermarking algorithm. The proposed algorithm assigns the different spread spectrum sequences to the individual users respectively. In the case that the assigned code sequences are orthogonal, we can identify the watermark information of the individual user from an audio content. The algorithm used the Walsh code as an orthogonal code. The watermark information is rearranged to the 1D sequence from 2D barcode and modulated by the Walsh code. The modulated watermark information is embedded into the DCT (discrete cosine transform) domain of the original audio content. For the performance evaluation, I used 3 audio samples, "Amazing Grace", "Oh! Carol" and "Take me home country roads", The attacks for the robustness test were MP3 compression, echo attack, and sub woofer boost. The MP3 compression was performed by a tool of Cool Edit Pro 2.0. The specification of MP3 was CBR(Constant Bit Rate) 128kbps, 44,100Hz, and stereo. The echo attack had the echo with initial volume 70%, decay 75%, and delay 100msec. The sub woofer boost attack was a modification attack of low frequency part in the Fourier coefficients. The test results showed the proposed algorithm is robust to the attacks. In the MP3 attack, the strength of the watermark information is not affected, and then the watermark can be detected from all of the sample audios. In the sub woofer boost attack, the watermark was detected when the strength is 0.3. Also, in the case of echo attack, the watermark can be identified if the strength is greater and equal than 0.5.
