An Analysis on the Needs Assessment of School Library Facilities in Korea (학교도서관 시설에 대한 요구조사 분석)

  • This study is an analysis on the needs assessment of school library facilities in Korea. After exploring KLA's Standards for Korean Libraries, IFLA's School Library Guidelines and AASL's Empowering Learners, the needs assessment tool of school library facilities was proposed in the previous study. The tool contains 10 major properties on school library facilities. This study gathered data from 507 students and 134 teacher librarians. The result of analysis is as follows: Students and teacher librarians evaluated the importance of library facilities more highly than the current level of facilities. Collection access, convenience and space are revealed more important properties to students and good environment, expandability, collection access are more important to teacher librarians among the properties.

  • In this paper, we present an efficient design scheme based on analysis of design requirements and considerations of baseband packet switch for S-band satellite/terrestrial hybrid multi-beam satellite communication systems. To establish design requirements and considerations, we analyze required functions of baseband packet switch, specifications of multi-beam satellite communications, communication services and performance requirements. And also we analyze and compare conventional layer-2 and layer-3 satellite baseband packet switching techniques, packet switching protocols and packet switch architectures, to apply from analyzed results. Finally, we propose a hardware design scheme of MPEG based layer-2 baseband packet switch using analyzed results.

A Study of ATM Switch Performance Analysis in Consideration of Cell Processing Due Time and Priority (셀 처리 요구 시간 및 우선 순위를 고려한 ATM 스위치의 성능 분석에 관한 연구)

  • This paper suggested to solve ATM switch performance and service rate which was input buffer managed scheme in ATM network with burst traffic characteristics, For this purpose, ATM multiplexer is prepared before sending for handling burst random input traffic to multiplex and then sort based on cell inter-arrival time and cell processing due time which had been marked after that. The server looks for cell header with the most shortest due time and sends it, thus it is satisfied that real time traffic for instance CBR and rt-VBR was guaranteed cell processing time to send fast than non real time traffic. For analysis of ATM switch performance with cell processing due time and priority, each output port has divided into four different virtual buffer and each buffer has assigned different cell inter-arrival time and processing due time according to ATM Forum for example CBT/rt-VBR, nrt-VBR, ABR and UBR and showed it’s optimal service parameters then analyzed service rate behaviors according to each traffic characteristics.

  • A study on the characteristics of server workloads based on user access pattern offers insights for the strategies on continuous media caching and network workloads distribution. This paper analyses characteristics of continuous media filet in each fervor and user access requests to each of them, using log data of three commercial sites, which are providing continuous media files in the form of real time streaming on the Internet. These servers have more continuous files than ones in the previously reported studies and are processing very large number of user access requests. We analyse the characteristics of continuous media files in each server by the size of files. playback time and encoding bandwidth. We also analyse the characteristics of user access requests by the distribution of user requests to continuous media files, user access time, access rate based on the popularity of the files and the number if access requests to serial continuous media files.

  • 시스템엔지니어링을 수행하는데 있어서 요구사항의 중요성은 아무리 강조해도 지나치지 않을 것이다. 요구사항들의 명확한 정의는 개발문제의 명확한 정의를 의미하면 이는 개발사업의 위험부담을 초기에 제거하는 중요한 역할이 된다. 시스템 개발에 있어서 성패를 가름 지을 수 있는 첫 관문인 요구사항의 추출 방법들을 식별하고 비교 분석하였다. 본 논문에서는 요구사항 추출을 위한 방법들을 간략히 소개하고 각 방법의 장점과 단점을 기술하였으며, 각 방법의 학습난이도, 적용할 이해당사자의 특성별로 정리하였다.

  • 컴포넌트 기반의 소프트웨어가 개발되어짐에 따라 소프트웨어공학 측면에서 컴포넌트 기반의 소프트웨어 개발을 위한 컴포넌트 기반 소프트웨어공학(CBSE: Component Based Software Engineering)에 대한 연구가 진행되고 있다[1]. 컴포넌트 기반의 소프트웨어를 개발하는데 있어서 최대한 효율성과 생산성을 증가시키기 위해서는 개발초기, 즉 요구사항 분석단계에서 기존에 개발되어진 컴포넌트들 중에 사용자가 요구하는 역할을 수행하는 적절한 후보 컴포넌트를 추출할 수 있어야 한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 XML의 특성을 활용한 요구사항과 컴포넌트 명세 언어를 정의하고 이를 통해 정형화된 요구사항으로부터 시스템 개발에 필요한 컴포넌트들을 추출하는 방안을 제시하고자 한다.

Teacher's Recognition and Needs about STEAM Education in Specialized High Schools for Technical fields (공업계열 특성화고 교사의 STEAM 교육에 대한 인식과 요구도)

  • This study is to analyze teacher's recognition and needs of STEAM education in specialized high schools for technical fields. For this study, survey using questionnaire was applied to teachers in specialized high schools for technical fields. This study includes the recognition and the needs on STEAM education of general and industrial subject teachers in specialized high schools for technical fields. In order to carry on this study, 655 questionnaires were collected from teachers of 16 specialized high schools for technical fields in the whole country. Practically, 611 questionnaires (257 of normal subject teachers and 398 of industrial subject teachers) were used for this study. As a result, it is known that the needs of STEAM education is larger to industrial subject teachers than general subject teachers. But it is disclosed that STEAM education is more difficult to general subject teachers than industrial subject teachers. In requirements of teaching-learning, general subject teachers only required reference materials, but industrial subject teachers needed STEAM lesson under the same subjects and data sharing system as a priority. General and industrial subject teachers also considered education program development for creative thinking skills and problem solving abilities as a priority. Finally, in the administrative and financial requirement, both of them demand to reduce administrative tasks as a priority.

Effect of green tea supplementation on probiotic potential, physico-chemical, and functional properties of yogurt (요구르트의 프로바이오틱 활성과 물리화학적 및 기능적 특성에 대한 녹차 추출물의 영향)

  • The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of green tea extract on probiotic potential, physico-chemical and functional properties of yogurt fermented with Lactobacillus acidophilus D11 or Lactobacillus fermentum D37 strains isolated from Doenjang. Probiotic activities such as the resistance to artificial digestive juices and the ability to adhere to epithelial cells were slightly higher in yogurt supplemented with green tea extract than in plain yogurt, which may be attributed to the increase in the number of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) by green tea extract supplementation. Furthermore, the microbiological and physico-chemical properties such as the number of LAB, organic acid production and viscosity were significantly (P<0.05) increased in yogurt added green tea extract compared to plain yogurt fermented with L. acidophilus D11. However, the green tea extract did not significantly (P>0.05) affect these properties of yogurt fermented with L. fermentum D37 strain. Meanwhile, the antibacterial activities against Escherichia coli O157 ATCC 43889, Salmonella enteritidis ATCC 13076, and Salmonella typhimurium KCTC 2514 and antioxidant activities including total phenol content, radical scavenging ability, and ferric-reducing antioxidant power were significantly higher in plain yogurt fermented with L. fermentum D37 than with L. acidophilus D11. The antibacterial and antioxidant activities of the yogurt were significantly (P<0.05) increased in proportion to the concentration of green tea extract added to plain yogurt. Consequently, green tea yogurt fermented with L. acidophilus D11 or L. fermentum D37 was considered to be a useful functional food that can inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteria and scavenge the free radicals from the body cells.

  • 기존의 전력망에 정보기술(IT)을 융합하여 전력 공급자와 소비자가 양방향 통신을 통하여 생산과 소비 효율을 최적화할 수 있는 스마트 그리드가 개발되고 있다. 그러나 전력망에 IT 기술이 융합되면서 정보통신 인프라에서 발생하고 있는 보안 문제가 전력망에서도 그대로 재현되고 있다. 스마트 그리드와 같은 제어 시스템 보안 기술은 기존의 IT 보안 기술과는 특성상 여러 가지 차이점이 존재한다. 따라서 전력 인프라에 대한 사이버 공격을 방지하고 대응하기 위하여 보안 기술이 개발단계 초기부터 고려될 필요가 있다. 본 논문에서는 국가 주요 정보하부구조를 구성하게 될 스마트 그리드의 취약성, 특성, 보안 필요성과 요구사항 및 네트워크 설계 원칙 등에 대한 분석 결과를 제시한다.

  • 동관은 열전달성, 내식성, 가공성이 우수하여 각종 열교환기용 열전달관으로 각각의 열전달특성요구에 맞게 가공되어 사용되고 있다. 최근 제품가격의 하락에 따라 열전달특성 개선 뿐만아니라 코스트다운에 대한 요구도 커지고, 또 냉매도 HFC계로 변화하고 있어 새로운 관점에서 열전달관개발을 하여야 한다. 일본의 Kobe제강소는 1917년부터 동관을 제조하기 시작하여, 일본 국내는 물론 미국과 아시아 지역에서 높은 보급률을 가지고 있다. 특히 냉동공조용 열전달관 부분에 강한 면모를 보이고 있다. 여기서는 최근 개발된 열전달관에 관하여 그 개발 경위와 열전달특성에 관하여 소개하고자 한다.
