With the increase of the skyscraper center, the development of large-diameter and high-strength reinforcing bars is being carried out to solve the dense reinforcement. In case of the steel reinforced concrete with a small cross section such as beam-column joints, the development length becomes short when straight bars are used. Therefore, it is possible to solve the problem that the development length becomes short by using the bearing strength of the hooked bar and headed bar. In this study, the exterior beam-column joint test of SD700 hooked bar and headed bar with anchorage length of 20db was conducted to extend the development length limitation of hooked bar and headed bar. As a result of the evaluation of the anchorage strength using the design equation by KCI, the average of the [measured value]/[predicted value] ratio was 1.31 for the hooked reinforcing bars. In the case of headed bars, the average of the [measured value]/[predicted value] ratio was 1.12. In addition, in order to compare the anchorage performance of the hooked bar and the headed bar, the measured values were divided by the square root of the compressive strength of the concrete to compare the anchorage strength. Under the same conditions, the anchorage strength of headed bars was 8.5% higher than the hooked bars.

In this study, the development performance of the head bars, which is SD700, was experimentally evaluated at the RC (reinforced concrete) or SFRC (steel fiber reinforced concrete external beam-column joint. A total of 10 specimens were tested, and variables such as steel fibers, length of settlement, effective depth of the beam, and stirrups of the column were planned. As a result of the experiment, the specimens showed side-face blowout, concrete breakout, and shear failure depending on the experimental variables. In the RC series experiments with development length as a variable, it was confirmed that the development strength increased by 26.5~42.2% as the development length increased by 25-80%, which was not proportional to the development length. JD-based experiments with twice the effective depth of beams showed concrete breakout failure, reducing the maximum strength by 31.5% to 62% compared to the reference experiment. The S-series experiment, in which the spacing of the shear reinforcement around the enlarged head reinforcement was 1/2 times that of the reference experiment, increased the maximum strength by 8.4 to 9.7%. The concrete compressive strength of SFRC was evaluated to be 29.3% smaller than the concrete compressive strength of RC, but the development strength of SFRC specimens increased by 7.3% to 12.2%. Accordingly it was confirmed that the development performance of the head bar was greatly improved by reinforcing the steel fiber. Considering the results of 92% and 99% of the experimental maximum strength of the experiment arranged with 92% and 110% of the KDS-based settlement length, it is judged that the safety rate needs to be considered even more. In addition, it is required to present a design formula that considers the effective depth of the beam compared to the development length.

In this study, the heat input conditions suitable for the AZ61 magnesium alloy were derived by controlling the welding speed at a constant rotational speed. In addition, from an economic point of view, industry demands higher welding speeds. Therefore, the effects of the welding speed were studied. The rotational speed applied was 800rpm, and the welding speed was varied from 100 to 500mm/min to evaluate the behavior of the welded regions. Tensile and hardness tests were conducted to examine the mechanical properties. Optical microscopy was used to observe the microstructure and soundness of the welded regions. Defects were observed at the welded region when the welding speed was more than400mm/min. As the welding speed increased, the grain size of the stir zone decreased and the hardness tended to increase proportionally. When the rotational speed was 800 rpm and the welding speed was 200mm/min and 300mm/min, there wereno defects in the welded region and excellent mechanical properties were recorded. In addition, the joint efficiencies were 100.5% and 101.2%, respectively, and the ultimate tensile strength was similar to that of the base metal. Fracture of the tensile specimen occurred between the advancing side and stir zone, and the fracture location coincided with the region where the hardness decreased temporarily.

In the present study, hollow precast concrete wall (PC Double Wall) for staircase construction was developed. Comparing the conventional walls, the PC Double Wall can be reduced the lift weight using hollow core and improves the integrity between the PC members. The cross-section and re-bar details of the PC Double Wall were developed considering precast concrete manufacturing, constructability, and the structural safety. Particularly, a form system was developed to manufacture thin and hollow core PC wall efficiently. A mock-up test for a staircase using the PC Double wall was performed to verify the constructability and integrity of the PC walls. The test result verified that joint deformation and cracking did not occur as showing good constructability.
Currently, the load transfer's mechanism from a beam to a column has yet to ve clarified in a concrete filled steel tubular (CFT) structure with a connection type of an exterior diaphragm. The loads for each floor are transferred to the concrete core from a steel beam through ha contacted face between an in-filled concrete and the interior surface of a steel tube. Thus, a Push-Out test was performed to investigate the load transfer mechanism. A total of 30 samples were tested to confirm the bond stress and/or axial load distribution between a steel tube and in-filled concrete for CFT column. The main parameters considered for this study included concrete type, steel tube-shape/length, and the effect of a weld joint wit ha backing strip for a column splice. Test results were summarized to confirm load transfer behavior between a concrete and steel tube for each experimental parameter, using the analytical approach to verify experimental results.
This study conducted conservation treatment of a briefcase used by a soldier who fought in the Korean War as a member of the United Nations Forces. The zooid characteristics of its main material, leather, were analyzed in collaboration with the researchers at the National Palace Museum of Korea who have conducted relevant research. A plan for conservation treatment was established based on the results of this analysis. The briefcase was made of leather with a wooden frame. The many densely arranged tiny pores in different patterns on the leather's surface suggests calf leather. The wooden frame and leather had suffered deformation over long years of deterioration and thus required conservation treatment to enhance their structural stability. The conservation treatment began with the removal of contaminants from the exterior and interior of the briefcase. The stiffened leather was softened through humidification, and torn or separated areas were restored using cowhide glue. It is expected that the results of this conservation treatment and analysis of the leather material will serve as useful sources for basic research on leather items as well as wartime and military items.

A structure of a glass electrode-type pH sensor for measuring any concentration of $H^+$ in an aqueous solution was embodied with bulk micromachining technology. Two open well structures were formed, and a reference electrode was secured by the Ag/AgCl thin film in the sloped side of the etched structure. A sensitive membrane of an indicator electrode for generating a potential by an exchange reaction to $H^+$ was made with a glass containing Na 20% or more finely so that its thickness might be $100{\mu}m$ or so, and then it was bonded to one pyramidal structure. A liquid junction for a current path was formed by filling an agar in the anisotropically etched part of the Si wafer, which had a size of $50{\mu}m{\times}50{\mu}m$, and then bonded it to the other. After complete fabrication of each part, it was filled with a 2M KCl reference solution and encapsulated the sensor structure with a cold expoxy. The potential value of fabricated pH sensor was about 90mV/pH in the standard pH solutions.
Steel box girder bridges are being commonly designed for medium-span bridges of span length. Composite truss bridges with steel diagonals instead of concrete webs can be an excellent design alternative, because it can reduce the dead weight of superstructures. One of the key issues in the design of composite truss bridges is the joint structureconnecting the diagonal steel members with the upper and lower concrete slabs. Because the connection has to carry concentrated combined loads and the design provisions for the joint are not clear, it is necessary to investigate the load transfer mechanism and the design methods for each limit state. There are various connection details according to the types of diagonal members. In this paper, the joint structure with group stud connectors welded on a gusset plate is used. Push-out tests for the group stud connectors of were performed. The test results showed that the current design codes on the ultimate strength ofthe stud connection can be used when the required minimum spacing of stud connectors is satisfied. Flexure-shear tests were conducted to verify the applicability of the design provisions for combined load effects to the strength of joint structures. To increase the pullout strength of the connection, bent studs were proposed and utilized for the edge studs in the group arrangement of the joint. The results showed that the details of the joint structure were enhanced. Thereafter, design guidelines were proposed.
In piloti-type low-rise RC residential buildings, severe damages have been usually concentrated at piloti stories under the earthquake. In this study, a piloti story was retrofitted by installation of buckling-restrained braces (BRB's) to increase strength and stiffness of piloti story and by application of fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) sheet on columns to avoid the brittle shear and axial failure of columns. To verify this retrofit performance, reversed cyclic lateral load tests were performed on 1:5 scale bare and retrofitted frames. The test results showed that yield strength (43.2 kN) appeared to be significantly larger than design value (30 kN) due to the increase of strength in the compression side, but the stiffness value (11.6 kN/mm) turned out to be approximately one-half of the design value (24.2 kN/mm). The reasons for this difference in stiffness were due to slippage at joint between the frame and the BRB's, displacement and rotation at footing. The energy absorption capacity of the retrofitted frame was 7.5 times larger than that of the bare frame. The change of the number of load cells under the footing from 2 to 1 reduced lateral stiffness from 11.6 kN/mm to 6 kN/mm, which was only three times larger than that of the bare frame (2.1 kN/mm).

As time passes, bridge structures require extension work on bridge in use from various effects such as social economical, or traffic environment change. When the concrete is poured at the connection of extension work initial curing concrete is influenced by vibration of vehicles that are passing through the old bridge superstructure. Concrete at early curing stage in construction site should be properly protected, enough to have established sufficient integrity to withstand outside vibration, impact etc. Currently there is no standard specification or regulation in our country. In this paper, experimental variables were divided by vibration velocity and time of loading, and concrete compressive strength and bond strength were measured.
