A Study on Comparison between Korean.Chinese Consumers In the Relationship between Domestic Open Market Brand personality, Customer Satisfaction and Brand Loyalty (국내 오픈마켓 브랜드개성과 고객만족, 애호도와의 관계에서 한.중 소비자간 비교에 관한 연구)

  • At this point in time when the percentage of foreign consumers as well as domestic consumers are being increased in domestic open market users due to the recent interest and promotion on the open market, the purposes of this study are as follows. First, the relationship between open market brand personality, satisfaction and brand loyalty will be clarified targeting all Korean consumers and Chinese consumers using domestic open market. Second, whether there is difference in the effect of domestic open market brand personality on customer satisfaction and brand loyalty between Korean consumers and Chinese consumers will be compared. The results are as follows. First, as a result of testing the study hypothesis targeting the open market users, in other words targeting all Korean consumers and Chinese consumers, only the ability among brand personality dimensions did not have positive effect on the satisfaction toward open market. Other than that, it could be confirmed that the reliability, sincerity and familiarity, etc are important influence factors in forming satisfaction toward open market. Next, as a result of testing whether there is difference in the effect of domestic open market brand personality on customer satisfaction and brand loyalty between Korean consumers and Chinese consumers, it was shown as having difference. In other words, the Korean consumers were shown as not having positive significant effect in the relationship between the ability among brand personality and satisfaction toward open market while all other brand personality dimensions were shown as having positive effect on the satisfaction toward open market. It could be found that if the satisfaction toward open market is high, the brand loyalty toward open market also gets high.

Effects of Chinese Consumer lifestyles on perceived value, purchase intention, and satisfaction of Korean medium & low price cosmetics (중국 소비자 라이프스타일이 한국 중·저가 화장품의 지각된 가치, 구매의도, 만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • Chinese economic growth and Chinese adoption of foreign cultures have changed varied phenomena, consumption patterns and consumer life-styles, in particular. In order to understand behavior of Chinese consumers, it is critical to explore their lifestyles and its effects on their purchase behavior. For attaining this goal, our research classifies Chinese consumer lifestyles related to cosmetics, into four types: brand oriented, price sensitive, rational consumption, and impulse buying. The research further analyzes the effects of consumer lifestyles on perceived value, satisfaction, and purchase intention in each case of skin care cosmetics and make-up cosmetics. Significant difference are found in perceived value, satisfaction, and purchase intention of skin care cosmetics exists between brand-oriented type and rational consumption type. This is also the case between rational consumption type and impulse buying type. Purchase intention is only found to be different between rational consumption type and price sensitive type. In case of make-up cosmetics, significant differences in perceived value, satisfaction, and purchase intention in the pairs of brand-oriented type and rational consumption type, rational consumption type and impulse buying type, and rational consumption type and price sensitive type. This implies rational consumption type should be more appropriate target consumers in the Chinese cosmetics market.

The Shopping Experience Values at Department Stores and Their Effects on the Brand Asset and the Store Loyalty (백화점 쇼핑경험 가치가 브랜드자산 및 점포충성도에 미치는 영향)

  • One of the largest changes in retail business in Korea since the distribution market was opened in the mid 1990s is the appearance of foreign discount stores and the rapid growth of department stores. Discount stores and department stores have changed the structure of distribution business which has been primarily made up of traditional markets and supermarkets that have been the main retail markets in Korea. The retail business is changing from just a product purchasing place to a space where various values such as pleasure, happiness, etc. are provided. Therefore the purpose of this research is to grasp the effects that the shopping experience values at department stores have on the department brands, images, and awareness by means of theoretical and empirical research. Especially I classified the shopping experience values, an independent variable, into aesthetics, pleasures, consumers' interests, and services' excellence, and I verified whether they have a meaningful effects on the brand recognition and image, an endogenous variable, and the store royalty, a final various. A total of 235 questionnaires were used for analysis to test the research hypotheses. The positive analysis was done with SPSS 17.0K and AMOS 17.0 covariance structure analysis was performed. As a result, variables of the shopping experience values except consumers' interests seemed to have not only right influences on recognition and image, but also right influences on store royalty. Therefore this research shows that department store customers not only make use of department stores to buy products, but also visit department stores to get the values of pleasure and happiness, and that these aspects have a greater influence on the department store's image, recognition, or royalty in a sense.

Analysis of Foreign Customers' Price Sensitivity on Korean Traditional Restaurants Using Price Sensitivity Measurement (외국인의 한식당에 대한 가격민감성 분석)

  • The purposes of this study were (1) to analyze price sensitivity, (2) to define the range of acceptable prices for each foreign segment, and (3) to provide a price model for Korean traditional restaurants. From October to November, 2006, a total of 781 foreigners responded to individual surveys. Statistical analyses on the survey data were performed using descriptive statistics and Price Sensitivity Measurement (PSM). Major findings from the study are as follows: First, the ranges of the acceptable prices were $98$\sim$$130 for fine dining/gourmet restaurants, $70$\sim$$90 for theme/ambience restaurants, $40$\sim$$60 for popular/family restaurants, and $18$\sim$$30 for convenience/fast food restaurants. Second, the convenience/fast food restaurants showed the highest price sensitivity. Third, a low stress level and wide range of the acceptable price were observed for the fine dining/gourmet restaurants, suggesting that the price sensitivity of the fine dining/gourmet restaurants was quite low. Finally, the price sensitivity indicated by the Japanese was higher than by the other groups. In consequence, the research findings suggest that the managers of the Korean traditional restaurants should strategically plan prices by understanding different customers' price sensitivity within and between customer segments. Through additional research, marketers can compare perceptions of specific brands, the competition, and variations within a product line.

The Determinants of Repurchasing Intention of Chindia Customers for Foreign Brand Products (중국 및 인도 소비자들의 외국브랜드 제품에 대한 재구매의도 결정요인 비교연구)

  • Purpose - The main purpose of the study is to investigate the antecedents of repurchase intention on foreign brand products by Chinese and Indian millennial customers. In addition to this, this study also examines mediating effect of 'CSR' on the relationship between the antecedents and repurchase intention. Research design, data, and methodology - Responses from 202 Chinese university students and 209 Indian university students were finally analyzed. To test the proposed relationships, path analyses, mediation analyses and multi-group analysis were conducted. Results - In China, only brand image had positive effects on repurchase intention. CSR played mediating role between manufacturer's country image and repurchase intention. In India, comparatively, economic factor, manufacturer's country image and brand image had positive effects on repurchase intention. CSR played mediating role between all four antecedents and repurchase intention. Conclusion - This study showed different results of repurchase intentions of Millennial consumers in China and India because cultural and political systems of two countries were so different. So foreign firms should apply customized and differentiated marketing strategies to each country.

  • 외식산업은 국민경제의 발전에 따른 가처분 소득 증가, 여가시간의 증대, 맞벌이 세대의 증가, 핵가족화 등의 성장원인으로 국민의 의식형태의 변화에 따라 수많은 외국 브랜드의 레스토랑이 국내에 진출하여 경쟁이 심화되어 있다. 외국계 레스토랑의 국내 진출은 의식 서비스 품질의 중요성을 인식시켜주는 계기가 되었으며, 고객만족은 그 어떤 무엇보다도 중요한 기업활동의 목적으로 여기는 계기가 되었다. 이러한 점을 감안하여 본 연구는 패밀리 레스토랑을 이용하는 고객들의 만족영향요인으로서 서비스 품질을 선행요인으로 하여 고객만족과 사후에 전개되는 행동과의 관계를 구조적으로 측정하였다. 그리고, 가장 취약한 점을 찾은 후 그 점을 가장 잘 보완할 수 있고, 고객과의 관계를 더욱 친밀히 할 수 있는 새로운 서비스의 타당성을 측정해 보았다. 새로운 서비스로써 지금까지 각 테이블당의 호스트 개념을 고객관리를 함께 하도록 호스트들에게 더 많은 권한을 이양해 주어, 개개인의 호스트라는 느낌을 가져서 타 패밀리 레스토랑보다 특별한 고객으로 대한다는 것을 느낄 수 있게 한다면 통계적으로 살펴봤던 반응성과 공감성 요인의 취약함을 오히려 강점으로 만들 수 있다는 결론이 도출되었다.

종돈개량을 활용한 좋은 육질등급 받기

  • 현재 시장의 개방화, 사료비 인상, 조류인플루엔자 및 돼지산업에서는 만성소모성질환으로 많은 농가들이 어려움을 겪고 있다. 이러한 시기에 양돈산업이 국제 경쟁력을 갖추기 위해서는 생산비 절감과 차별화가 큰 대안이 될 수 있다. 하지만 생산비의 절반 이상을 차지하는 사료 대부분을 외국에서 수입하는 현실에서 생산비 절감 부분은 그 한계가 있을 수 있기 때문에 수입돈육과 경쟁하기 위해서는 국내에서 생산되는 돈육의 품질고급화 및 차별화에 초점을 맞추어야 할 것이다. 이러한 차별화를 위한 방안으로 유기축산, 무항생재, 기능성돈육, 고급육 등 많은 대안들이 제시되고 있다. 그리고 현재는 2007년 7월부터 축산물등급판정소에서 돈육의 육질등급 제도를 실시하면서 등급에 따른 가격차이가 발생하고 있어 브랜드 업체나 양돈농가 또한 고품질의 돈육생산에 관심을 가지기 시작했다. 현재 농촌진흥청 축산과학원 양돈과에서는 듀록품종의 계통조성을 '축진듀록'을 완성하여 돼지인공수정센터에 공급하였으며 축진듀록과 연계하여 종돈의 육질개량에 대해 알아보고자 한다.

  • 염관리법 제정 이후 천일염산업이 활성화되고 있다. 최근 미네랄과 칼슘 등의 풍부한 영양성분이 함유된 국내산 천일염의 판매량이 급증하고 있다. 우수한 품질이 알려지며 외국 시장에도 수출이 이루어지고 있다. 국내 외 시장에서 명품 천일염으로 자리잡기 위해서는 품질이 우선이지만 패키지 디자인도 중요하다. 국내 수입 천일염 패키지의 다양한 색상보다 국내 천일염 패키지의 색상은 관용색을 주로 사용하고 있어 주목성이 떨어진다. 패키지디자인에서 색상은 중요한 요소 중 하나이다. 컬러 마케팅이 중요한 요즘 한 번 구입한 브랜드를 재구입할 수 있도록 소비자의 머리에 제품의 색상이 각인될 수 있는 컬러 선택이 중요하다. 이를 위해 수입 천일염 패키지디자인의 색상과 국내산 천일염 패키지디자인의 색상을 비교분석하여 국내 천일염 패키지디자인의 개선 방향을 모색하고 더 나은 부가가치를 창출하고자 한다.

  • This case intorduced E-mart's business philosophy and vision, analyzed E-mart's outline of marketing strategy, and discussed its performance and future task. E-mart took the role of market pioneer by developing discount store market in Korea. It's mission was to provide substantial benefits to the customers by selling quality products at the lowest price in the market. For this purpose, E-mart has conducted a slogan of 'everyday low price discount store-E-mart'. Objective of E-mart's brand strategy was to be No. 1 discount store in Korea or to be a representative brand in the discount store market. To achieve this objective, E-mart has conducted various efforts such as construction of national network, realization of the lowest price, formation of the most reliable discount store image, establishment of competitive edge and so on. E-mart settled a new model for discount store in Korea and took the lead in expanding market potential. With these efforts, E-mart has maintained secure position as a leading company in the discount store market.
