  • This paper attempts to investigate how and why the additionality effects occur in the case when a firm receives government subsidy as opposed to counterfactual situation. To demonstrate this, we selected 12 SMEs(small and medium enterprises) firms in Daejeon area and have conducted multiple case studies. In order to analyse the multiple cases of firms, we classified firms innovative activities into three stages which are composed of input, behaviour and output stages and related various factors. Furthermore, we investigated the differences according to types of firms and stages of firm growth. Empirical results show that various input, behaviour and output additionality effects exist when firms receive public subsidies. Compared to companies in the growth and mature stages, startup phase companies depend on government subsidy extensively and they use public subsidies strategically to develop new product and to change their strategic direction. The attitude of firms to use government subsidies is different according to their types and stage of growth as well.

  • Adams' Thesis, or the so-called equation Pr$(A{\rightarrow}C)$ = Pr(C|A) seems to express a correct relationship between the probabilities of conditionals and conditional probabilities. But D. K. Lewis has proved the remarkable fact that probabilities of conditionals are not conditional probabilities. In this paper 1 present a version of Lewis' triviality results and give an explanation why probabilities of conditionals are not conditional probabilities. A conditional probability of C given A has a peculiar properly in that its probability is insulated from not-A facts: the only thing relevant is the proportion of ways in which A is true which are also ways for C to be true. This peculiarity of conditional probability seems to put the great obstacle in the way of attempting to find a proposition such that its probability of being true systematically coincides with conditional probability of something else.

  • As far as Hilbert's Program is concerned, there seems to be important differences in the development of Wittgenstein's thoughts. Wittgenstein's main claims on this theme in his middle period writings, such as Wittgenstein and the Vienna Circle, Philosophical Remarks and Philosophical Grammar seem to be different from the later writings such as Wittgenstein's Lectures on the Foundations of Mathematics (Cambridge 1939) and Remarks on the Foundations of Mathematics. To show that differences, I will first briefly survey Hilbert's program and his philosophy of mathematics, that is to say, formalism. Next, I will illuminate in what respects Wittgenstein was influenced by and criticized Hilbert's formalism. Surprisingly enough, Wittgenstein claims in his middle period that there is neither metamathematics nor proof of consistency. But later, he withdraws his such radical claims. Furthermore, we cannot find out any evidences, I think, that he maintained his formerly claims. I will illuminate why Wittgenstein does not raise such claims any more.

  • The displacement of business tenants is of growing concern in urban redevelopment. This research focuses on why business tenants have not collectively taken action against urban redevelopment and explores how their rights can be improved. It met the research aim through a case study on one urban redevelopment area in Yongsan. Although urban redevelopment plans create many problems for business tenants, there is no effective mechanism in place to enable them to get involved in the decision-making procedures of urban planning. They are collectively and individually powerless in urban politics, so they do not have enough opportunities to change the Korean urban redevelopment system. The findings from this research suggest that many tenants have been apathetic to anti-gentrification movements due to their powerlessness in the urban redevelopment domain. In order to overcome structural injustice, it is important to improve business tenants' awareness of 'the right to the city' and enforce strong legislation to safeguard tenants.

  • The study reviews theoretical and empirical research literature in information needs, seeking and uses in order to search for the most pertinent metatheories for studying information practices of the disadvantaged. The study examines the salient features and main theories/models of each cognitive, affective and social approach in the user-centered paradigm through analyzing prior information practices studies. While analyzing the main features of each cognitive, affective and social approach, the study points out the limitation of research using the cognitive and affective approaches to fail to theorize the relationship between individuals and complex and dynamic socio-cultural contexts in information practices. As an alternative, the study suggests using the social approach as a pertinent metatheory for understanding information practices of the disadvantaged who are entangled with myriad social contexts and issues. In order to verify the pertinence, the study examines the advantages of the social approach through analyzing both the main models related to everyday information practices under social constructionism and the main findings from information practices of the disadvantaged.

Why Do Economists Argue 'for' or 'against' Government's Roles in a Monetary System? -Revisiting Hayek and Friedman- (화폐금융제도에서 공적기구의 역할에 대한 견해 차이는 왜 발생하는가? - 하이에크(Hayek)와 프리드만(Friedman)의 경우 -)

  • This paper examines works of F. Hayek and M. Friedman on monetary and financial policies. This paper highlights their differences, and asks what yielded them. It also shows there exists a gap between young Hayek and old Hayek, which cannot be explained in terms of his view on monetary theories. It further shows that Friedman's argument for '100% reserve bank' was not based on his monetary theories. Differences between Hayek and Friedman despite their common political belief, Hayek's transition, gaps between theories and policy views found in Hayek and Friedman-this paper argues that these facts can be best explained by Kuhn's paradigm theory. This paper concludes that truthfulness of a thesis on the public sector's role in the monetary system is subject to relativism.

  • Recently, it was occurred in the nation's largest Information spill about 140 million cases of credit card customers' personal and credit information. As such, it was rapidly to increase in consumer complaints about the privacy of personal information in accordance with outflow of financial companies increased accident. But it is still not clear precaution. Therefore, in financial customer position, it is possible to confirm and determine in advance whether or not superior to the security company. In addition, It is time to be required institutional device that can be a real effort to equip a good security company. This report is considered a model of "Disclosure of corporate security assessment " of these devices institutional study. And We study in realistic and objective stance about why do we need this policy.

  • This paper suggests a motion compensation technique using GPS/IMU data in order to compensate for phase error caused by undesired motion of radar platform. An actual flight trajectory would be deviate from an ideal straight-constant trajectory with a constant velocity for SAR imaging, due to pitch, roll and yaw motion of aircraft caused by turbulence. This leads to blurred SAR images due to inter-pulse phase errors as well as along-track velocity errors. If the motion compensation is carried out to reduce those errors, SAR image quality can be significantly improved. Simulation results show that the motion compensation technique introduced in this paper is an effective tool to improve SAR image quality against severe motion of radar platform.

  • It is important to select the personnel with ideal pilot aptitude considering dramatically advancing aircraft performance and complexity of military operations as a consequence to the highly developed science and technology. The opportunity cost lost from dropouts and human error being the first cause of aviation accidents are the realistic reasons for the significance of personnel selection based on their aptitude. This study analyses the ROKAF pilot aptitude test that was improved in 2004, using various classification models. This study discusses the significance of the selected variables along with the direction of ROKAF pilot aptitude test for its development in the future. The accuracy of the classification models was improved by taking into account differing personnel characteristics of individuals on the test.

  • Social network services, it has attracted a lot of popularity that it us to allow the formation of past human network has been thought possible only in the main offline also on-line and mobile. However, by a variety of SNS with a recent other features it appeared a lot, the user, rather than stick to one SNS use only, if necessary, to join simultaneously two or more kinds of SNS status it is. By problem of invasion of privacy in recent SNS is a problem of, the user, in many cases that I have to worry about whether or not to leave the mainly use SNS. This study focused on these aspects and trying to figure out whether changing the SNS people to why use. Therefore, it is possible to obtain two factor theory is trying to figure out the psychology of users feel satisfaction SNS use and unsatisfactory at the same time as the significant result.
