자동차 저항 점 용접부 실시간 품질 검사 자동화를 위한 센서 검토 (Consideration of Sensors for Real-Time Quality Evaluation of Resisitance Spot Welds in Automotive Industry)

  • 최근 토요타 자동차의 대량 리콜 사태로 안전과 관련된 자동차 품질에 대한 관심과 중요성이 크게 부각되었다. 본 연구에서는 나날이 높아지고 있는 자동차 품질 기준과 생산 비용 절감, 공정 자동화 요구에 부응하기 위한 차체 저항 점 용접부 품질 검사 자동화 기술 개발을 위해 적용 가능한 센서들을 비교, 검토하였다. 알려진 비파괴 검사 방법은 초음파, 와전류, 방사선 검사법 등 다양한 방법들이 존재하지만, 이 연구에서는 생산 라인 현장 적용이 가능한 소형 센서들을 중심으로 검토 영역을 제한하였다. 검토된 비파괴 검사 방법은 총 5가지 종류로 종래의 수동 초음파 검사법, 집적된 탐촉자를 이용한 3차원 초음파 검사법, NAUT(Non-contact Air-coupled Ultrasonic Test), EMAT(EletroMagnetic Acoustic Test), 그리고 너겟 프로파일러$^{TM}$이다. 이 연구에서는 각 검사법의 원리와 장단점을 설명하고 생산 라인 적용에 필요한 필수 항목들에 대해 고찰하였다.

  • In this paper, the characteristics analysis of the eddy current sensor by using boundary element method package is presented. For the boundary element analysis. Faraday, which is the commercial package of the integrated engineering software, is used. To observe the impedance characteristic of the eddy current senor with the sensor position and lift-off, the eddy current testing analysis is performed on the ferromagnetic plate with defect. Considering the skin depth of the ferromagnetic specimen, the 800(Hz) driving source is chosen. The result shows that electro motive force is reduced as the probe moves to near the defect and the lift-off of the probe increases.

주파수 및 속도 변화에 따른 와전류 센서의 개발 (Development of Eddy Current Sensor Considering Frequency and Velocity)

  • In this paper, the eddy current sensor is develped for observing the ability of detecting defect with variation of frequency and velocity. The circuit designed for processing detected voltage and changing frequency is used for eddy current sensor to detect defect with variation of frequency. The ability of eddy current sensor to detect defects is studied with variation of velocity adjusted by rotating the circular plate. This study shows that the ability of eddy current sensor for detecting defect is increased and decreased by frequency. This fact means that the sensor has its best ability at a certain frequency. And the ability of eddy current sensor by velocity is decreased by increased velocity. Therefore, the eddy current sensor has to be developed with consideration of its operation velocity and frequency.

고속회전체의 진동 측정용 비접촉 광섬유 변위센서 개발 (Development of Optical Fiber Displacement Sensor for Non-contact Vibration Measurement in the High Speed Rotation System)

  • This paper is described a development of an optical fiber displacement sensor. The optical fiber sensor using an intensity modulated measures the displacement between target and sensor. A prototype sensor is composed of a transmitting part, a receiving part and a signal processing circuit. The experiment was conducted not only the sensor performance but also factors that affect intensity. The main performance of this sensor is resolution of 0.37um and the non-linearity $0.7\%$ FS and the dynamic bandwidth of about 6.3kHz. As a result of rotation test, the prototype sensor showed an equivalent performance to a commercial eddy current sensor.

  • Nondestructive eddy current testing has been used for measuring the electromagnetic properties of metals. It is well known that the conventional eddy current sensors are not effective to measure multi-layer properties. In this paper, the mutual inductance type sensor is studied and transformed fractions of metals are measured. Characteristic factors in eddy current testing are considered and their influences on the testing results are investigated.

  • In most multi-stage forging processes, the die spotting process or alignment of punch and die depends on the manual operation. It results a very tedious and inefficient procedure, thus the proper measurement system is needed to improve productivity and accuracy. This paper proposes a measurement system for alignment of die and punch which has a cylindrical holder, and describes the system concepts using 3 eddy-current displacement transducers and precise measurement jig. In order to apply this measurement system to real situations, the measuring procedures and system calibration method, etc. are proposed. Finally, the accuracy and productivity of this measurement system are investigated in this paper.

  • This paper presents an in-process measurement system for shaft radius measurement during grinding process. This system does not require to stop the grinding process, which can enhance productivity and quality. In order to measure the radius, the system employs an eddy current sensor that can measure without any contact with the shaft. This type of sensor is very appropriate because it is insensitive to interference such as cutting fluid, coolant, contact pressure, and wear. For data analysis, the measurement system is modeled as a linearized discrete form where the states with noise are estimated by an extended Kalman filter. This system has been validated through simulations and experiments.

  • 반도체소자의 제조 공정 기술 중 구리패턴을 얻기 위해서 사용하는 화학 기계적 연마(CMP)를 이용한 평탄화와 연마 공정에서 Wafer에 도포된 구리의 두께를 실시간으로 측정하여 정밀하게 제어할필요가 있는데, 이때 획득되는 센서값을 실제 두께 값으로 환산하는 계산과정에서 오차가 발생할 수 있다. 실제 측정 값에 근사한 값을 얻도록 단순평균을 이용한 방법, 이동 평균, 필터 들을 사용하여 결과를 비교하여 옹고스트롬 단위의 두께를 실시간으로 측정하는 제어 시스템의 편차를 줄이도록 하는 방법의 구현에 대해 기술한다.

  • 부품 또는 제품들의 정전기 방지와 내마모성 및 내부식성 향상, 미각화 등 다양한 목적으로 코팅의 중요성이 증가되고 있다. 코팅막의 두께를 측정하는 방법으로 주로 프로브(probe)로 코팅면을 측정하는 접촉식 측정방식이 이용되는데, 코어의 투자율 변화에 의해 센서 출력 왜곡이나 부하 현상이 발생하여 정확도가 떨어지는 문제점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 비선형적인 특성에 의해 발생할 수 있는 문제점을 최적화된 회로설계와 두께측정 알고리즘을 적용하여 코팅막의 측정 오차를 줄이는 방법을 제안한다. 여러 코팅 샘플을 통한 실험 결과 ${\pm}2%$ 이내의 측정 정확도를 갖는 것을 확인할 수 있다.

압연롤 검사를 위한 다중 센서 와전류 탐상 검사 시스템 개발 (Development of Multi-channel Eddy Current System for Inspection of Press Rolls)

  • Press rolls are constantly exposed to physical and heat stresses on their surface and are prone to crack, bruise, and spall if the accumulated stress goes beyond the critical point. Such surface phenomenon can cause them to lose their functionality and eventually lead to a halted production line. Eddy current testing can be considered a useful method to investigate the surface of the roll. The method involves the application of a high intensity magnetic field onto the surface of the roll, and thereby finding any early stage of possible defects. When the method was applied for roll inspection, the cross section of the sensor was regulated as per the overall testing speed. A smaller cross sectional area implied a better resolution but a longer testing time. In this paper, a convenient method to increase both overall system resolution and inspection speed of eddy current roll inspection is suggested by using a devised array sensor structure.
