  • This study is investigating the effectiveness of a blended learning for English listening and reading class by analyzing students' learning behavior. To this end, two surveys were conducted on a total of 75 students from the two different classes of Academic English Listening and Reading course. The research results showed that in the online class, the students built undesirable learning behavior such as solving listening quizzes by reading listening scripts or watching the instructor's lectures about the scripts and completing the assignment of summary of the scripts by referring to the Korean versions. In the offline class, the students' participation in group activities and attention to lectures was good. Therefore, it can be concluded that because of the students' poor online learning behavior, this blended learning was rather not effective. So the suggestions are discussed to enhance the effectiveness of the blended learning for English listening and reading.

  • As Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) became a pandemic, most nursing departments in Korea implemented online non-face-to-face practices rather than the existing practice method. This study was a qualitative study that analyzed the reflection diaries written by participants to understand what they experienced in the online non-face-to-face adult nursing practice process. The online non-face-to-face adult nursing practice was 90 hours for two credits and nine hours per day for a total of 10 days. This online practice consisted of computer-based simulation practice, computer-based nursing skills practice, video and educational material production, real-time online quiz, online lecture video, and discussion. As a result of analyzing the reflection diary, six categories, 13 subcategories, and 33 codes were derived. The six categories were 'Experience of various situations', 'Experience of new study', 'Fulfillment for the clinical practice', 'Building relations with professors', 'Fear of being a pre-nurse', and 'Ambivalence for the non-face-to-face practice'. These results are significant in that in the post-corona era, adult nursing practice was conducted as a non-face-to-face practice rather than a clinical practice institution, and various educational methods were operated. This study is expected to provide important basic data for the development and operation of non-face-to-face adult nursing practice.

  • Even though computer based college lecture management system was developed long ago and has been used ever since, developing perfect lecture management is not simple. The main objective of this system is to develop appropriate online lecture supportive management program suitable for college lectures. This system [ADLEMS] mainly focuses on the management of college database lectures, exams, and grades. This system supports management and grading of attendance, reports, quizzes, mid-term, and final exams. Exam management categorizes into multiple choice questions, essay questions, short answer questions, and SQL. Especially for SQL, division analysis was applied when developing grading system for more effective grade management. For essay questions and short answer questions, manual [hand] grading method was used. Every student can verify the grading process in person to alleviate the problems occurring during the grading process.

  • In the database design course, the team project is a very important process to develop students' database design competencies. In order to carry out team projects smoothly, active interaction between students and the professor as well as collaboration among team members are very important. However, a full uncontacted class was suddenly decides in the first semester of 2020, it was questionable whether it would be possible to effectively manage this course, where team projects to construct database take up a big portion. However team projects were able to proceed without major problems through interaction using real-time video media such as zoom, and discussions, quizzes, and Q&A supported by the online education support system (LMS), and online presentations, mutual evaluations, and so on. This paper shares the experience of managing engineering team projects in uncontacted classes and based on three surveys introduces desirable improving directions of this instruction and some suggestions to improve uncontacted classes overall.

  • With the development of e-learning teaching methods, the demand for blended learning, which combines face-to-face education and e-learning, is increasing, and it shows a learning effect that can replace the existing face-to-face class. Engineering subjects have various learning activities such as practice, so it is not easy to operate them with traditional blended learning. Therefore, a different teaching and learning design is required according to the learning activities required for the subject. In this paper, examples of teaching method design and operation for blended learning in engineering subjects were introduced, and their effects investigated and analyzed. Learning activities were subdivided into theoretical classes, practical classes, quizzes and Q&A, assignments and solutions, and teaching and learning methods such as online videos, LMS utilization, and face-to-face classes were applied according to learning activities. According to the results of the student satisfaction survey, blended learning showed higher satisfaction than pure online and face-to-face classes in engineering subjects, and showed differentiated satisfaction for each learning activity.

  • This paper presents a web-based virtual educational system for Java language, which consists of a management system named Java Web Player (JWP) and creative multimedia contents for the lectures of Java language. The JWP is a Java application program free from security problems by the Java Web Start technologies that supports an integrated learning environment including three important learning procedures: Java concept learning process, programming practice process and assessment process. On-line voice presentation and its related texts together with moving images are synchronized for efficiently conveying creative contents to learners. Furthermore, a simple and useful compiler is included in the JWP for providing user-friendly language practice environment enabling such as coding, editing, executing, and debugging Java source files on the Web. Finally, simple multiple choices are given suddenly to the learners while they are studying through the JWP and the test results are displayed on the message box. In order to show the validity of the proposed virtual educational system we analysed and assessed the learners' academic performance on the five quizzes for one semester.
