Fault Diagnosis of a Electrolytic Capacitor for Inverter DC-Link Voltage Smoothing (인버터 직류링크 전압 평활용 전해 커패시터의 고장 진단)

  • This paper proposes a novel fault diagnosis method of a electrolytic capacitor used for DC-link voltage smoothing in adjustable speed drives. The equivalent series resistance (ESR) of the electrolytic capacitor is directly estimated from DC-link voltage and load currents and the status of the electrolytic capacitor is determined from the estimated ESR. To compensate the variation of the ESR owing to temperature variation, diodes are located on the same PCB near the capacitor and the temperature of the capacitor is sensed indirectly from the voltage drop of diodes. Simulation and experimental studies show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • 본 논문에서는 휴대폰에 사용하는 리튬-이론 배터리(Li-Ion battery)를 충전하기 위한 충전 IC 의 설계에 대해서 기술한다. 정전류(Constant Current)/ 정전압 (Constant Voltage) 방식을 이용하여 리튬-이론 배터리를 충전을 하였다. 이 충전 과정을 제어하기 위해서 일반적으로 사용되는 ADC, DAC 와 MICOM 을 사용하지 않고, hardwired control logic 을 이용하여 적은 면적을 가지고도 기존의 충전 과정을 수행하도록 하였다. 충전 IC 외부에 사용되는 저항들을 내부에 집적하여 사용하는 부품의 수를 현저히 줄였다. 충전기와 리튬-이온 배터리를 연결하는 선(wire)로 저항에 의한 전압강하(voltage drop)를 외부에서 보상할 수 있도록하여 리튬-이온 배터리가 가장 안정적인 전압인 4.2 V로 충전 될 수 있도록 하였다. 외부 온도 검사 블록에서 저항을 이용한 전압 분배를 사용하지 않고, 정전류원을 이용하여 외부 온도 변화를 측정할 수 있도록 하였다. 리튬-이온 배터가 전정류와 정전압으로 4.2 V로 충전 되었으며, 충전 IC 의 소비 전력은 37 mW(analog part)이다. 충전 IC는 0.6 ㎛ standard CMOS 공정을 이용하여 설계하였다.

  • A cooling performance analysis has been made in the 8-channel calorimeter based on sub-scale KSR-III engine. Three-dimensional heat transfer analysis in cooling channels has been performed using the heat flux distribution through the chamber wall predicted from axi-symmetric compressible flow inside the combustion chamber. The heat flux distribution was verified against the published literature. Presented for the development and operation of the calorimeter are the coolant pressure drop, coolant temperature rise and the maximum chamber wall temperature.

  • R407C is considered as an alternative refrigerant of R22 for air conditioners. An experiment was carried out to investigate the characteristics of the evaporation heat transfer and pressure drop for refrigerant R407C flowing in a fin-and-tube heat exchanger used for commercial air-conditioning unit. The experimental data were useful in analyze the effects of the temperature glide and superheat for R407C. Test were conducted at the conditions of inlet refrigerant evaporation temperature of 7$^{\circ}C$, inlet air relative humidity of 50%, and refrigerant mass fluxes varying from 150 to 250 kg/m$^2$s. Representative results show that the heat exchanger performance for R407C evaporation is significantly affected by the change of the flow pattern from two-phase to super-heated vapor flow.

  • Although teflon(PTFE) is quite stable at the normal fabrication temperature of 330 to 360$^{\circ}C$, it does undergo pyrolysis if it is maintained at temperature above 360$^{\circ}C$ for extended periods of time. The extent and rate of this pyrolysis increases as the temperature is raised and pressure is reduced. The pyrolysis was also carried out in the presence of copper, no significant change was observed.

  • 개선된 FB-SOA 및 낮은 턴-오프 시간의 특성을 가지는 수평형 애노드-스위칭 사이리스터(LAST)의 고온에서의 전류-전압 특성을 연구하였다. LAST는 고온에서도 훌륭한 전류 포화 특성을 가져 개선된 FB-SOA의 특성을 보였다. 고온에서 LAST의 순방향 전압 강하는 감소되었다. 또한 LAST는 온도가 상승함에 따라 포화 전류가 감소하여. 병렬연결 동작 시에 전류 균형 특성을 기대할 수 있다.

A Study of Depress Drying Technic for Mushroom(II) (버섯의 감압건조기술에 관한 연구(II))

  • 버섯의 감압건조시험을 할 수 있는 요인시험장치를 제작하여 시험한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 가. 댐퍼조절방식 감압건조장치로 건조시험한 결과, 표고버섯은 건조온도 5$0^{\circ}C$에서는 나타나 건조실 압력에 따른 건감률의 변화는 크게 나타나지 않았으나, 건조온도 6$0^{\circ}C$에서 건조실 내부압력이 990hPa일 때 4.57%/hr로 1,013hPa에 비해 높게 나타났으며, 색차면에서는 온도 5$0^{\circ}C$일 때 건조실 내부 압력이 낮아질수록 변화가 적은 것으로 나타났고, 수축률은 압력별로 거의 변화가 없었으나, 건조온도 6$0^{\circ}C$, 압력 990hPa에서 다른 조건에 비해 양호한 것으로 판단되었으나 건조실 내부에 공기분배가 일정하지 않고, 건조실 내부압력 강하성능이 떨어지는 문제점이 발생하여 솔레노이드를 이용한 압력조절방식으로 보완 제작하여 건조시험을 실시하였다. 나. 솔레노이드방식 감압건조장치로 건조시험 한 결과, 표고버섯은 열풍온도 5$0^{\circ}C$, 건조실 내부압력 940-980hPa에서 건감률 2.69%w.b./hr, 갓의 복원률 90.1%로 가장 높았고, 색차 및 수축률이 가장 낮은 것으로 나타났으며, 건조실 내부압력을 900-940hPa로 고정하고 열풍온도를 40, 50, 6$0^{\circ}C$로 표고버섯을 시험한 결과 건감률은 6$0^{\circ}C$일 때 가장 높았으나, 색차, 수축률, 복원률을 고려할 경우 열풍온도 5$0^{\circ}C$가 가장 적합한 것으로 판단된다. 다 솔레노이드방식 감압건조장치로 건조한 표고버섯으로 품위에 대한 유의성 검증결과, 표고버섯의 경우 온도별로는 색택과 복원률, 건조실 내부 압력별로는 수축률, 복원률에서 유의차가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 라. 본 연구에서 구명된 감압건조특성을 기초로 하여 배치식 감압건조기를 설계 제작에 활용하고자 한다.

Numerical analysis for heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics of (다양한 배플 인자에 따른 셀-튜브 열교환기의 열전달 및 압력강하 특성에 관한 수치해석)

  • In numbers of kinds of heat exchanger, the shell-tube heat exchanger is the most commonly used type of heat exchanger in the industry field. In order to improve the thermal performance of the heat exchanger, this study was analyzed heat transfer characteristics according to arrangement of baffle and direction of baffle and bump phase of baffle about shell-tube heat exchanger using appropriate SST (Shear Stress Transport) turbulence model for flow separation and boundary layer analysis. As the boundary condition for CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) analysis, the inlet temperature of shell side was constantly 344 K and the variation of the water flow rate was 6, 12, 18 and 24 l/min. As the result of analysis, zigzag baffle arrangement enhances heat transfer rate and pressure drop. Furthermore, in the direction of the baffle, heat transfer rate is more improved with vertical type and angle $45^{\circ}$ type than existing type, and pressure drop was little difference. Also, the bump shape of baffle surface contributes to heat transfer rate and pressure drop improvement due to the increased heat transfer area. Through analysis results, we knew that the increase of the heat transfer was influenced by flow separation, fluid residual time, contact area with the tube, flow rate, swirl and so on.

Condensation Heat Transfer Characteristics and Pressure Drop of R-290, R-600a, and R-22 in Horizontal Smooth Pipes with a Small Diameter (수평평활 세관 내에서의 R-290, R-600a, R-22의 응축열전달과 압력강하 특성)

  • The condensation heat transfer coefficients and pressure drops of hydrocarbon refrigerants (R-290 and R-600a) and hydrochlorofluorocarbon (HCFC) refrigerants were measured in the two horizontal double pipe heat exchangers with inner diameters of 10.07 mm and 5.80 mm at a mass flux of $35.5{\sim}210.4\;kg/m^2s$ and the condensation temperature of $40^{\circ}C$. The average condensation heat transfer coefficients of hydrocarbon refrigerants were higher than that of HCFC refrigerant(R-22). The pressure drop had a magnitude in the order of R-600a > R-290 > R-22. The pressure drops in the tubes with inner diameter of 10.07 mm were approximately $6{\sim}15%$, $9.8{\sim}12.5%$ and $2.1{\sim}4.6%$ higher for R-600a, R-290 and R-22, respectively, than those with inner diameter of 5.80 mm. The condensation heat transfer coefficients were compared with the published experimental data, and showed the best agreement with Haraguchi et al.'s correlation.
