패킷 필터링은 잠재적으로 악의 있는 네트워크 패킷을 필터링하는 것이다. 패킷 필터링의 기능을 테스트하기 위해서 우리는 보안 시스템에 설정된 보안 정책이 의도한 대로 수행되는지 검증해야 한다. 그러나 기존에 이러한 기능을 테스트하기 위한 도구가 거의 없으며, 존재하는 도구는 테스트의 수행 시 테스트 케이스 선정과 테스트 결과의 판단에 있어 많은 사용자의 판단을 요구한다. 대부분의 보안 시스템 운영자는 새로운 보안 정책을 설립할 때 이를 테스트하는데 많은 부담감을 갖는다. 이에 본 논문에서는 사용자의 판단을 최소화 할 수 있는 새로운 테스트 베드를 제안하고 구현한다. 본 논문의 테스트 베드는 테스트 케이스와 테스트 오라클을 자동으로 생성한다. 그리고 생성된 테스트 오라클을 기반으로 테스트 결과를 사용자의 참여 없이 자동으로 판단한다.

데이터베이스라 하면 어렴풋이 어떻다하는 것은 알 것이다. 그러나 데이터베이스를 제작하는 툴 즉 데이터베이스 관리시스템(DBMS)은 직접 접해본 적은 거의 없을 것이다. 접한다 해도 과연 이 프로그램이 DBMS인지 또는 DBMS라 할지라도 어떻게 다루는지 모르고 지나치는 경우가 많을 것이다. 그리고 데이터베이스를 구축하고 프로그램을 선택할 때 DBMS에 대한 자료가 없어서 망설이는 경우도 있을 것이다. 또한 국내에 유통되는 국내외 제작한 많은 DBMS들이 있다. 이 많은 DBMS들 중에서 내가 필요로 하는 것은 어떤 제품인지 판가름하기는 좀 곤란할 것이다. 이러한 독자들의 고민을 조금이나마 해소하기 위해서 본지에서는 매월 1개 제품을 선택하여 소개하고자 한다. 지난호 사이베이스에 이어 두번째로 오라클을 게재하고자 한다. 이번에 게재되는 ORACLE은 지난 9월에 선보인 ORACLEWORKGROUP/20000과 ORACLE 7 데이터베이스 관리시스템 R7.1을 소개하고자 한다.

개방형 표준 기반의 오라클 네트웍 컴퓨팅 아키텍처는 정보 처리 부서가 당면하게 되는 상호 호환성 문제를 덜어주고, 솔루션을 실행 전개하는데 더 노력을 기울일 수 있도록 해주기 위한 것이며, 그 핵심을 이루는 것이 바로 가장 강력한 객체 관계형 데이터베이스 서버인 Oracle8이다.

Packet filtering is to filter out potentially malicious network packets. In order to test a packet filtering function we should verify whether security policies are performed correctly as intended. However there are few existing tools to test the function. Besides, they need user participation when generating test cases or deciding test results. Many security administrators have a burden to test systematically new security policies when they establish new policies or modify the existing ones. To mitigate the burdens we suggest a new test method with minimal user articipation. Our tool automates generation steps of the test cases and the test oracles, respectively. By using the test oracles generated automatically, deciding test results is possible without user intervention. Our method realizes an automatic testing in three phases; test preparation phase, test execution, and test evaluation. As a result it may enhance confidence of test activities more highly. This paper describes the design and implementation of our test method and tool.

This study attempts to construct and manage the distance learning system by focusing on education institutins. However, they lack not only web-based courseware for information literacy but also the contents for the management technology. This study tried to design and implement the web-based courseware by using OCP(Oracle Certified Profession) based on the initial Oracle in distance learning. Learners' individual variations were considered based on problem solving learning. Also, the practical contents that could be applied in the educational field were selected. The learning type web-based courseware, using the technology of ASP, DHTML, JAVAscript, VBA, was designed and implemented into the framework that could be updated easily. The result of the study shows: first of all, this courseware induced a greater understanding of the Oracle language and the student's interests. Secondly, the student's had more control over the process of individual learning and achieved the goal more effectively through immediate feedback, finally, the students could learn wherever they have on-line connections to the web server.

네트웍 컴퓨팅으로의 가속화에 견인차 역할을 하고 있는 인터넷/인트라넷 컴퓨팅 환경의 가장 큰 장점은 클라이언트/서버 컴퓨팅의 혜택을 그대로 살리면서 중앙 집중 처리 방식의 강점, 그리고 멀티미디어의 풍부한 표현력을 가미한 사용 편이성의 제공일 것이다. 그러나 이러한 장점들을 모두 만족시킬 수 있는 제품 및 솔루션은 그리 많지 않은 것이 현실이며, 무엇보다도 그 근간이 되는 데이터베이스 서버와의 긴밀한 통합은 오라클이 가장 포괄적이면서도 독보적으로 솔루션을 제공하고 있다고 자부한다.

OLAP 제품 시장에도 예외없이 인터넷 열풍이 불고 있다. 기존 업체인 오라클, 인포믹스, 아보, 마이크로스트레티지 등이 OLAP 신제품을 내놓으면서 웹 지원 기능을 추가하고 있는 가운데 최근에는 비즈니스오브젝트, 코그노스, 컴세어 등 외국 OLAP 전문업체들이 웹 기반의 OLAP 업그레이드 버전을 출시, 웹 기반 OLAP 시장에 본격적으로 참여하고 있다. 이런 시장의 추세에 따라 국산 OLAP 제품을 갖고 있던 모던정보공학도 파워 Si포 웹 버전을 출시할 예정이다.
