노년기를 더욱 의미 있고 창조적으로 보낼 수 있도록 돕는 교육의 필요성이 제기되면서 노년층의 평생교육의 중요성이 강조되고 있다. 평균수명의 연장은 노인의 삶의 질에 대한 사회적 관심을 촉발시켰고 특히, 문화예술관련 평생교육은 노인의 감수성과 삶의 질을 향상시킬 수 있다는 점에서 중요하다. 평생교육은 우리나라에서 2000년 3월부터 시행하였다. 본 연구는 노년층의 문화예술 평생교육기관 만족도에 미치는 영향을 파악하고자 한다. 노년층의 문화예술 평생교육기관의 교육서비스 품질, 행정서비스 품질, 환경 품질 요인에 따라서 이용자들의 만족도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 확인하고자 한다. 이러한 연구를 통하여 고령화 사회에서 평생교육이 노인문제해결에 요한 분야가 될 수 있다는 데에 의미를 부여하고 노인평생교육에 한 인식과 질 제고를 한 정책시사를 제공하고자 한다

The purpose of this study was to find the recognition and opinions of gifted students, as well as their parents and teachers, on applying the artistic components to current educational programs for high ability students, gifted in mathematics and/or sciences. Questionnaires were distributed to 84 gifted students, 59 parents, and 23 teachers in elementary schools in Seoul Metropolitan area. Findings of this study include: (a) More than 1/4 of gifted students in mathematics or sciences reported that they are talented in both math/science and arts, (b) most of students, parents, and teachers believe that arts education is useful for cultivating academic talents of gifted students, (c) gifted students and their parents prefer 'Science and Arts School for the Gifted' to 'Science School for the Gifted', if both options are available.

This study aims to examine the current status of Korean and overseas science and arts convergence programs in and out of schools to apply them in school education settings and to learn about the characteristics of overseas programs through case studies. In addition, it explores implications of the current domestic and overseas for implementation in schools. For this study, we selected 193 domestic in-school science and arts convergence programs and 106 domestic out-of-school programs. For the overseas programs, we selected those conducted by the government, research institutes, science halls, and art galleries. We also analyzed the domestic in-school programs by type of students, operation hours, areas of convergence, and the function and role of arts activities. We analyzed domestic out-of-school programs by operation time, operation method, areas of convergence, and type of activities. Moreover, we examined the overseas programs in terms of their program developers, goals, and characteristics. These findings suggest that in order for science and arts convergence education to become well established in Korean schools, it is necessary to develop programs that can be incorporated into the present science education curriculum, rather than individual content or a single class on science and arts convergence, and to diversify the range of programs. In addition, out-of-school programs should be actively considered, and intense discussions on the use of program activities and teaching materials are needed. Finally, research institutes and educational institutions should be closely linked to achieve a common goal.

Cultural arts education helps in the holistic development of children and enhances their language skills and creative thinking. This type of education not only fosters emotional intelligence, but has also been proven to play a positive role in helping children understand different cultures. Based on these findings, in recent times, interest in cultural arts education has been focused on the importance of experiencing art in childhood and the development of artistic ability. A high standard of cultural arts education is desirable, in which regular classes are held based on the close cooperation of teachers, with extensive knowledge and sense of the cultural arts, and cultural arts experts. Therefore, it is necessary to include extensive cultural arts education in the training of early childhood educators, considering the importance of early childhood cultural arts education. This study suggested ways to improve the academic curriculum and develop plans to enhance the expertise of early childhood teachers in the field of cultural arts by analyzing the academic curriculum of early childhood education courses in 4-year universities in the metropolitan area.

This study aims to study the effect of service quality of lifelong education in culture and arts on educational satisfaction, intention to continuous use and performance. The service quality of culture and art lifelong education was divided into three dimensions: education quality, administrative quality, and environmental quality. As detailed factors related to quality, six variables were set based on SERVQUAL: convenience, expertise, responsiveness, supportability, empathy, and tangibility. For this study, data were collected from 310 people taking cultural arts lectures at lifelong educational institutions in Seoul, Daegu, and Gumi. Since it was only for lectures related to culture and arts, a total of 256 materials were used for the study, excluding inappropriate materials. A structured questionnaire was used as a data collection method, and a structural model analysis was conducted to verify the hypothesis. As a result of this study, responsiveness among the service quality factors of lifelong education for culture and arts was rejected. In addition, the higher the satisfaction with the culture and art lifelong education institution, the higher the performance and the intention to continue using it. The theoretical and practical implications of this study result were discussed, and future research tasks were presented.

As a sequel of "special improvement act for gifted student education" legislated on January 2000, "regulation act for gifted student education" was published on April 2002 which is the time Korea has settled down its education for the gifted. Announced in the December 2007 "general plan for development of gifted student education" provided a platform for the gifted student education in Korea of growth in quantity, in which a plan of providing gifted student education up to 1 percent of the elementary and middle school level students (approximately 70 thousands) has been established while the education currently provides to 0.59 percent (40 thousands) of all students. Until recently, however, education for gifted students has been performed based on the way of concentrating on academic domains. and it has put more weights on mathematics and english domains. In order to overcome this drawbacks, there have been various attempts for growth in quality of education for gifted students, one of them is the our proposal of convergence of science and art education for cultivating 21 century creative humans through establishment of new type of institution. In this paper, education curriculum and management strategies appliable to the proposed convergence education institutions for gifted students. For this purpose we derived the implication points through analysis on education processes used in korea science school for the gifted students, a representative institution for the gifted students in Korea, and we suggested educational process curriculums for the science and art institute for gifted students along with the detailed contents of convergence subject which is an essential subject to the institute.

This study aims to reveal the educational effect and healing action of senior dance by approaching the experiential awareness of the social workers in phenomenological ways. The social workers who participated in the study are 7 social workers at Institute of Social Welfare of the Elderly Welfare in 2014 selected from ARTE Culture and Arts Culture and Arts Education Support Project as beneficiary organizations in the field of dance education. The materials and data of this study have been collected through 1 to 1 in-dept interviews with them. As a result, social welfare workers were recognizing senior dance education as emotional, recognizable, mental, social art activities rather than simple physical activities. And the senior citizens stimulate individual positive emotions and cognitive and have given feedback on and on. So, snowball effect that satisfactory feel of our lives get increased occurs. Finally, senior dance education provided at welfare institutions can be considered healing art activity to improve quality of life gradually through continuous interaction among individuals and communities.

In these days it can be said that knowledge based society has been passed through and creative society is approaching, and the important keywords to the coming creative society should be the knowledge, the creativity, and the convergence. In order to make preemptive responses to this 21 century's new creative society, cultivation of gifted students with integrated prototype is also an imperative reason to prepare. With this historical background Korean Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology announced "a general plan on invigoration of elementary and middle school level art education for cultivation of creativeness and humanity" containing the acting curriculums of science and art integrated on June 2010, and also announced "the second general plan for support on development of science and technology professionals" including STEAM education for elementary and middle school level at January 2011. In this paper we developed a strategy appliable to establish an education institution for gifted students specialized on promoting the students to the convergence type gifted students. For the purpose, we derived the necessity for convergence education for the gifted and the implication points through analysis on the examples, and developed a strategy to establish an education institution for gifted students.

The 21st century is the era of the center of the Originality(of thought). It also emphasizes creativity and creative education policy based on the new changes are dreaming. Creative education through art grasp the essence of things, seek express oneself, and brings cognitive ability. An educatee promote the development of creativity and insight on things other than the existing. New thinking will gain the ability to make rational faculty of the mind and principle. Creative education implement in homes, schools, communities, public agencies, private organizations, and running through the creative environment, but the number of trainees are exposed to extremely rare. The creative practice book in charge of creative education of the dissemination insufficient of research and development in reality. The creative practice book requires a new approach. It can be seen easily accessible environment where everyone should be able to provide for nationwide. In this respect, the creative practice book through art to begin consideration, is studied a whole spectrum, and be published in variety of practice books.
