  • This study examined methodologies for establishing a customer experience-focused innovation strategy, which is essential to transforming existing collection and preservation-oriented museum service into a visitor-oriented service. To this end, a review of studies examining good customer experience and bad customer experience was conducted, focusing on change in museum environments and customer experience from the service science and customer experience management perspectives. Research was conducted to present and prove. Implementing a customer experience-oriented innovation strategy in a museum requires exploring the various approaches that can be used to reach the target state from the present state, focusing on the customer, and selecting the most appropriate transformation plan. This study found that effective approaches are distinguished by the fact that they generate positive emotions in customers and use customer experience data to make important decisions regarding the establishment of practical resources in museums. This innovation model was developed and validated by analyzing how it differed from existing evaluation methods. Finally, a regression analysis using the customer experience measurement procedure, customer experience diagnosis/evaluation, customer experience innovation strategy, and museum performance as variables revealed a significant causal relationship.

  • This study is a survey conducted to explore what art high school students specifically see as nature of science. Third-year students of a high school of arts in Gyeonggi-do participated in the survey. The questionnaire was classified into three categories - the formative arts in the fine arts, the sound arts in music, the performing arts in dance, and drama and play. The study analyzed what they think of as similar aspects of science and art respectively according to their majors, with focus on the extracts. As a result, they mentioned 'creative imagination', 'correlation with technology', 'social and cultural relation', 'subjectivity', 'variability', and 'inquiring attitude' as similarities between science and art. The results are almost the same as the elements of the nature of science as agreed on by scientists. From the result, we can assume that students majoring in art, indeed, need an education on the nature of science. Also, while the fine arts students have more tendency to perceive inquiring attitude than others, music students are more likely to perceive variability than others. Therefore, teaching strategy in experimental inquiring context for the former is more helpful in understanding the nature of science, and teaching strategy in the context of scientific history for the latter.

  • The collective narratives on global crisis such as the displaced, uneven distribution of resources, invasion of human rights is more than a recurring theme or polemics in the fields of contemporary arts. In the latest projects from Olafur Eliasson, Rirkrit Tiravanija and Ai WeiWei, art works are presented as performative 'platforms' for tackling these undiscriminating reality of human conditions. Here, 'the users' as driving forces of possible change, are postulated as prospective actors/players who lead and collaborate to defy the status-quo. Crossing over the on/off lines, the everyday-activities of exchanging, sharing and networking are strategically deployed and its meaning reconfigured within the context of post/production discourse. This historical, yet unsettling juncture between art and life, dystopian reality and utopian idealism has its formal-conceptual links to Russian Constructivism, Brechtian Learning-Play and Joseph Beuys' Social Sculpture. Based on Nicolas Bourriaud's notion of Postproduction, this paper aims to provide a diachronic analysis on collaborative dispositions of participatory arts practices.

  • Gut, Korean shamanist performance, is the archetype of Korean art therapy. It is because gut has the archetype of Korean mind and expresses the archetype in an artistic and therapeutic way. This paper compares and analyzes Gunung-geori of Hwanhaedo-gut and art therapy theories from two perspectives: the range of therapy and the therapeutic principles of performing ways. Gunung-geori aims to solve prolonged conflicts within a family, linking individual problems to family relationship. Such a therapeutic effect of Gunung-geori is well explained through the theory of Bowen's Family Therapy. Also the therapeutic principles that Gunung-geori's performing way are closely related to "transference" of Freud and "putting in the role" in drama therapy.

  • When social disaster which is a phenomenon that causes a big wave to the social members occurs, the members of the society are anxious and show feelings of shame or guilt over behaviors that are against social norms. This sense of guilt is expected to reduce consumption of arts having its luxury and hedonic characteristics. The purpose of this study is to identify the causes of the decline in art consumption at the time of social disasters and we focus on guilt. We hypothesize that guilt for art consumption at the time of social disasters will increase as the tendency toward guilt is higher and the empathy tendency is higher. A result of the questionnaire survey of 286 people shows that the higher the guilt for art consumption in the social disaster situation, the more the art consumption decreased and the guilt changed depending on the degree of personal guilt and sympathy. This study contributes to explaining the decrease of art consumption in a big social phenomenon in recent years.

  • The Supply side of performance arts has been pretty much developed since the establishment of ARCO. The development level of the demand side, however, was much lower than that of supply side. This unbalance make it difficult to achieve the goal and to complete the mission of ARCO's assistant to the performance arts. Unlike the existing research for solving this problem, this study suggests the positioning strategy of a new value of performance arts for solving this problem. This positioning is, instead of meeting the experiential and symbolic needs, targeting the functional needs to solve the life problems to be faced with aging, for example, the problems from education, human relationship and health. The new positioning will make the demand for the performance arts belong to the top priority group in the expenditure list of consumers because the perceived concept of performance arts will be changed from the "Wants" consumption to "Should be" consumption like a expenditure of private education for children and that of health problems. Therefore, this new positioning is surely expected that the development of new demand from the new position is pretty much higher than that of present positioning. This study also suggests practical strategies, PR and cross functional management system for the implementation of this new positioning.

  • The main purpose of this study was to explore the possibility of the mimetic reconstruction of artistic space through works of Hwang, Jai Hyoun. His work shows a new world that is not reduced to his life and experiences. But his work has drawn the world with an unpredictable way. This world I call artistic space, and try to interpret the processes that space is created by mimesis. To this end, I first suggest a way to communicate with his work at the intersection of light and darkness(2). I also look at the inside and outside of his art space restructured with mimetic reactions(3). Then I finally critically discuss the artistic space that has time(4), and then get out of the way(5).

  • This study is on the creation of floral art works based on the intuitive insight acquired by methodological process of ruminating the experienced meaningful events of the artists utilizing sensible perception. The researcher used the narration and visualization techniques. The narration process adopted the writing technique of subjective impression, emotion, stream of consciousness to capture sensations of subconscious state, which were applied in three steps of 'the exploration of experiences', 'the concretion of experiences', and 'the creation of meaning out of experiences'. The visualization process adopted collection, selection, classification, and interpretation of related images, which were applied in three methods of 'the creation of images', 'the utilization of intuition', and 'the perception through remembering'. Finally 5 art works of 'Hammock is Good', 'At the Rooftop with Warm Sunshine', 'Standing at the Waterside Alone', 'Dizziness at Hot Sand Field', and 'Having Good Time at a Botanical Garden'were created through the combination of these two methods mentioned above and complementary research and writing. The meaningfulness of this research lies in presenting methodological approaches of utilizing narration and visualization of experiences in art creation process.

  • This research concurrently conducts literature review and quantitative research methodology in order to compare aesthetic experience of and . From the perspective of viewing attitudes, two types of perception equally coexist in both exhibitions: convergent perception is predominant over distracted perception in IL while distracted perception is higher than convergent perception in MIE. However, the influence of convergent perception on the degree of satisfaction and immersion is proved only in MIE. In terms of roles of viewer, there is a tendency to weigh on passive role in both exhibitions. In particular, it is worth noting that the role is relatively high in MIE. The role of viewer do not correlate with on the degree of satisfaction and immersion, as well as modes of perception. The elements of aesthetic experience are highly rated and the use of previous knowledge acts as a positive influence on the role of viewers in IL. Through this study, we witness the fact that visitors who are familiar with traditional artworks depend upon both modes of perception as well as passive role of viewer in the digital exhibition. In conclusion, remediation through digital technology has blurred the boundary of the dichotomy of a viewing attitude and a role of viewer depending on exhibit media, consequently MIE bears both natures of traditional artworks and digital media.
