This study was conducted on 236 dental hygienists to find ways to improve patient education by identifying their concern in preventive care, their level of prevention management knowledge, and their impact on patient education by mediating their prevention-related knowledge. It was found that the prevention care concern, prevention knowledge and patient education of dental hygienists have a significant correlation, the higher the prevention care concern, the better the patient education, the better the prevention care knowledge, the better the prevention management knowledge, the better the patient education. The regression analysis and Sobel verification were conducted in order to identify a mediating effect of the preventive care knowledge on the influence that the level of concern on preventive dental care affects the patient education. Therefore, it was confirmed that the level of concern on preventive dental care has not only a direct effect and an indirect effect. Based on the results of this study, it is believed that the preventive education effect of patients will be even higher if institutional support is supported along with the attention of dental hygienists on preventive work and education for preventive knowledge content.

2004년 12월말 국립보건원에서 질병관리본부로 확대 개편되고 에이즈업무를 독립시켜 단생한 에이즈 · 결핵관리팀을 찾아보았다. 전 국민을 에이즈의 감염위험으로부터 보호하고 예방하기 위한 홍보를 지속적으로 실시하고, 감염인을 조기 발견하며, 발견된 감염인을 관리하여 전파를 방지, 국민건강 증진 기여를 목표로 업무에 임하고 있었다.

최근 의료 패러다임은 치료에서 예방과 관리의 개념으로 변화하고 있다. 특히 우리나라 성인 인구 중 20~30%에서 발견되는 만성질환은 예방과 관리가 더욱 필요한 성인병이다. 본 논문에서는 만성 질환 중 지속적인 치료와 예방 그리고 관리가 필요한 고혈압 환자들을 관리하기 위하여 생체 데이터, 검진 데이터, 문진 데이터, 생활 습관 등을 이용하여 순차패턴 방법을 적용한 고혈압 환자에 대한 약제 처방 시스템과 연관규칙을 적용하여 고혈압 환자들에게 24시간 관리가 가능하도록 하는 고혈압 환자 관리 시스템을 개발한다.

'비만과의 전쟁'에 앞장설 한국건강관리협회의 비만예방 캐릭터 '체중이'. 한국건강관리협회가 2012년 비만과의 전쟁을 벌이기 위해 재미있는 아이디어를 생각해 냈다. 국민에게 더 친숙하게 다가가고 쉽게 이해시키기 위해 캐릭터를 제작하여 홍보하기로 한 것. 이 캐릭터는 한국건강관리협회가 주최하고 보건복지부와 교육과학기술부가 후원한 '2011년 비만예방 디자인 공모' 캐릭터 부문 대상작품을 활용한 것이다.

근골격계 질환은 다른 질병과는 달리 직업적 특성 때문에 발생하는 질환자수가 많고 집단적으로 발생한다. 질환들의 예방활동은 단순하게 접근하거나 또는 1회 적인 예방활동으로는 원천적인 예방이 어려우므로 품질관리 시스템과 환경경영시스템을 참고하여 지속적인 관리와 더불어 조직적인 관리가 이루어 져야 한다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 사업장의 인간공학 관리시스템을 12가지 기본요소(방침 및 리더십, 조직, 계획, 책임, 평가 예방과 관리, 교육과 훈련, 의사소통, 규칙 및 절차, 내부 검사와 감사, 사고/질병 조사, 문서와 기록관리, 프로그램 평가)로 세분화하여 시행하였다. 이를 이용하여 pallet 적재방법, key hole 가공작업방법, 기판 수삽입 작업대 등을 개선한 사례를 제시하였다.

"당뇨병은 예방이 가장 중요합니다. 국가적인 차원에서 노력해 전단계인 사람들을 찾아내야하고 교육, 관리해 주는 것이 가장 중요합니다." 박성우 교수는 당뇨병에 있어 가장 중요한 것은 무엇보다 예방과 교육이라고 강조한다. 전당뇨인들이 당뇨병에 걸리기 전 미리미리 예방하고, 이미 당뇨가 온 환자라면 올바르게 관리해 나갈 수 있도록 의료진과 협회, 국가정책 당국이 함께 손잡아야 한다는 것이 박 교수의 생각이다.
