This study is dealing with sound of Hitchcock's movie <The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956)> from Peirce's semiotic perspective. This paper examined Peirce's theory prior to semiotic discussion, and analyzed the three elements of sound(speech, noise, music) depending on the type of sign that he presented. Music is possible to express emotions as an index through intervals. The instrument sound under firstness works as the element of narrative and it may be a dynamic object, transferred to the dicisign of secondness. Also, a word in speech is possible to represent an object allusively through an icon in the film. Noise and music as an index are serving to increase the tension of film. Meanwhile, two different genres of music on the juxtaposition are in charge of narrative function as a dicisign. Thus, Hitchcock's sound has various semiotic qualities of signification depending on the context.

영화 "본 투 비 블루 (Born to be blue, 2015)"는 재즈 애호가였던 로버트 뷔드로 감독이 재즈음악가 쳇 베이커의 청춘을 다양한 모습으로 그린 영화이다. "Born to be blue"의 OST에는 쳇 베이커의 곡을 포함한 기존에 대중에게 알려진 재즈 음악이 다수 수록되어 있다. 하지만 원곡 그대로 영화에 쓰인 것이 아니라 영화배우의 보컬로 다시 녹음되고, 장면에 어울리게 원곡이 편곡되어 영화와 조화롭게 사용되었다. 그 중 특히 마지막 장면에서 엔딩 크레디트로 연결되며 사용된 곡 "Born to be blue"는 원곡과 큰 차이점을 보여주는 편곡을 보이며 곡에 중요한 의미를 부여하고 있다. 영화의 장면 속에서 갖는 곡의 의미와 편곡을 분석한다.

This study addresses the effective utilization of film music as learning material for language, target culture, and ethics education. Music is intertwined with language and culture, and even with ethics. This study focuses on the potential power of film music in the processes of teaching and learning in a classroom. For this purpose, five songs are selected from the soundtrack of Disney's famous animation The Lion King: "Circle of life", "I just can't wait to be king", "Be prepared", "Hakuna Matata", and "Can you feel the love tonight?", and concrete learning activities are suggested based on these. Using these five songs, gap-filling and singing-recoding tasks are proposed as listening and speaking activities respectively. Film music is also very useful in learning vocabulary, sentence structure, and grammar. Learners participate in a writing activity involving creating their own lyrics for the tunes reflecting their experiences. Next, for culture education, a teacher asks their students to discuss about, and be aware of, food culture using a specific character's song. Finally, for ethics education, a philosophy of life, natural logic, leadership qualities, and the motto Hakuna Matata("no worries") are explored and discussed through an analysis of the lyrics. The open-ended questionnaire survey is conducted. The result shows that music has a positive effect on culture and ethics education. Film music can be effective in learning a second language, target culture, and ethics.

From a film esthetic point of view, this paper deals with all the sound elements which are speech, noise, and music for the signification of sound in Hitchcock's . The speech makes a mental image auditory through voice-over, and sometimes it has the indiscernibleness of life and death to be incarnate. This paper has demonstrated that the noise also can mark punctuation-narrative boundary besides visual techniques pointed out by Metz, and it cites the sound of falling water which completes shower scene, offsetting a scream in audience's mind. In the music, desire and oppression are symbolized and they are making a dissonance. Upon occasion, the coexistence of two chords represents duplicity in Norman-mother. Also, the music may disappear in the way of silence, being mummified in the time paused. Thus, the common filmic signification of sounds in can be called reconceptualization of the image.

휴대용멀티미디어플레이어(이하 PMP)는 2004년 국내에 등장하여 음악과 더불어 영화 및 동영상을 볼 수 있도록 해주고 있는 인기 있는 개인용 전자기기이다. 그러나 수요가 둔화되고, 업체들의 경쟁이 치열해지면서 새로운 기능, 새로운 서비스에 대한 개발이 대두되고 있다. 최근에는 네비게이션 서비스, 학습서비스가 시행되면서 다시 수요가 살아나는 추세이다. 이에 따라 현재 존속하는 서비스에 대한 평가 및 새로운 서비스에 대한 검증이 요망되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 소비자 니즈 조사를 분석함으로써 현재 이용되고 있는 서비스들의 상황을 분석하고, 신규 서비스에 대한 수요 가치를 분석하였다. 분석 대상이 된 기존 상용 서비스는 게임, DMB, 영화, 음악, 네비게이션, 전자사전, 전자책, 이러닝, 만화, 무선인터넷였고, 신규 서비스는 u-Commerce, u-Health, u-Security, u-Public였다. 본 연구결과 PMP 응용 수요선호도 순위는 영화, TV, 음악 순이었으며, 신규서비스 u-Commerce, u-Health, u-Security, u-Public 옵션들에 대한 구매의향 평균가는 68,102원으로 나타났다.

This paper examines the sound of Godard's <$Pr{\acute{e}}nom$ Carmen> from Deleuze's film aesthetics and Merleau-Ponty's phenomenological point of view. The rehearsal scene of a string quartet is a mirror-image that illuminates the music itself, and becomes a crystal-image with the indiscernibility of the present and the past in the break with the main narrative. On the other hand, urban noise and waves are the seeds composed of pure optical (sound) images and grow into pure sound crystals that collide with what is seen through the juxtaposition, substitution, and intentional connection of sound. However, these sound contradictions also lead to the integrated sound category as a 'sole movement' through Merleau-Ponty's dialectical thought, and even the dialectical sound management of pop and classical music is no longer a confrontation of the genre, but is integrated into the materialistic category of sound. This study is differentiated from the existing research by solving the sound aesthetics of the Godard's film through philosophical thought.

The analysis of the various settings for modal Composition used for characterization of the characters in an epic movie. We set the mode along the role of the profession, gender of the characters in the movie. The mode is used, from Gregorian chant. Analysis reveals the Dorian, Phrygian, Lydian, Mixolydian, Aeolian, Locrian, Ionian character of the seven total Mode how the character is portrayed in the characters for each Mode specificity. The analysis of the reasons for the musical approach and the nature of the characters cited for Mode a portion of Plato's [Republic].

내게 원하는 영화나 드라마, 음악등의 디지털 콘텐츠를 핸드폰이나, 노트북, PMP를 자유자재로 다운로드 받을 수 있는 자동판매기가 올 하반기부터 본격 설치될 전망이다. 다양한 종류의 디지털 콘텐츠를 인터넷에 접속할 필요 없이 손쉽고 빠르게 다운로드 받을 수 있다는 점이 강점이다. 자판기의 새로운 분야가 열린다는 점에서 기대가 클수밖에 없다. 이 제품을 기술 개발한 한국전자통신연구원(ETRI)을 찾아 앞으로 어떻게 디지털 멀티미디어 콘텐츠 자동판매기 시대가 구현될지를 조명했다.

영화에서 당시 시대 문화를 반영하여 민속적 색채를 어떻게 나타내었는지 분석한다. 이는 두 영화의 배경인 로마와 스페인의 서사를 확인함과 동시에 테마를 작곡할 때에 역사를 반영해야 한다는 사실을 확인 할 수 있다. 영화 "Quo Vadis"와 "El Cid"에 등장하는 음악의 성격과 시대 배경에 따른 차이점을 분석하여 서사 영화에 사용된 멜로디 작곡법을 증명한다.

국내 문화 예술 산업에서 게임과 관련된 음악 혹은 OST가 드라마, 영화, 애니메이션 등의 타 장르와는 다르게 국내의 미디어 매체에서 언급과 노출이 비교적 적은 편이다. 게임을 소비하는 일부 이용자를 제외한 일반적인 대중은 게임 음악을 접할 기회가 많지 않기 때문에 게임 음악은 여전히 문화 예술이 아닌 게임 음악이라는 틀 안에 갇혀 있다. 본 논문에서는 국내 온라인 게임과 관련된 음악의 상업성에 대해 분석하고 게임 음악이 하나의 음악 장르로 자리를 잡기 위한 방안을 제시하고자 한다.
