A Comparative Analysis of Individual Attitudes toward Immigrants in Korea, Taiwan, and Japan (한국, 대만, 일본의 이민자에 대한 태도)

  • This research examines individual attitudes toward immigration and the determinants of these attitudes in Korea, Taiwan, and Japan. Using 2003 National Identity module from ISSP data, descriptive statistics showed that Taiwan seems to be the most opposed to immigration, Japan in the middle, and Korea the least opposed. Despite being the least opposed to immigration, Koreans agreed most strongly with having a homogeneous sense of ethnic identity. In addition, Korean respondents saw immigrants are being good for the national economy, but not for cultural diversity. Binary logistic regression analysis showed that age is negatively associated with the individual's attitude toward immigrants in Korea, Taiwan, and Japan. Effects of educational attainment is only significant in Taiwan. Manual worker and others, and those who work in farming, mining, and fishing tend to have negative attitudes toward increases in number of immigrants. Also, individual's values toward immigrants/immigration are related to the individual's attitude toward increases in number of immigrants in Korea, Japan, and Taiwan.

The Effects of Business Startup Attributes on the Overconfidence of Business Startup and Entrepreneur's Attitude in Foodservice Industry (외식산업 창업속성이 창업 과잉자신감과 창업자 태도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of business startup attributes on the overconfidence of business startup and entrepreneur's attitude in foodservice industry. To achieve this, a survey was carried out to 300 entrepreneurs in the foodservice industry through October 1 to October 30, 2012. The results were as follows. First, entrepreneur's characteristics, funds for business startup, locations and products had a statistically significant positive effect on the overconfidence of business startup(p<.05). Second, funds for business startup, locations and products had a statistically significant positive effect on entrepreneurs' attitude(p<.01). Third, the overconfidence of business startup had a statistically significant positive effect on entrepreneurs' attitude(p<.001). The findings stated above mean that knowledge or experience related to specialized management mind as entrepreneur's characteristic factors are just as important, and customers' use and choice of restaurants are also connected to stable management when the floating population of them are located to a suitable place in combination with product characteristics in enough financing and preparation based on this, showing entrepreneur's positive attitude through stable management along with confidence.

A Study on the Performance Evaluation of Effectiveness and Satisfaction of Veteran Medical Service Delivery System : Focused on the Perspective of Provider and Beneficiary (보훈의료서비스 전달체계의 효과성과 만족도에 관한 성과평가 연구 : 공급자 측면과 수요자 측면을 중심으로)

  • This study examines determining factors of effectiveness and satisfaction of Veteran Medical Service Delivery System. Especially, the association between the relevant variables of the effectiveness of the Veteran Medical Service Delivery System and the variables of the satisfaction from the perspective of beneficiaries was studied. Multi-level analysis was utilized to separate results of the evaluation of effectiveness in organizational-level and the evaluation of satisfaction in individual-level. This study tests key posited hypothesis by using survey data collected from 5 medical center of country(Seoul, Busan, Daejeon, Daegu, Gwangju). In terms of the result of the hypothesis testing on the effectiveness variable, integrity(${\beta}=.156$), accountability(${\beta}=.376$, financial sufficiency(${\beta}=.109$), and adequacy (${\beta}=.367$) are the determinants among various factors in evaluating veteran medical service delivery system, statistically reflecting the perception of directors of the veteran medical service delivery facilities on effectiveness. In other word, professionalism variable(${\beta}=0.99$) and effectiveness variable(${\beta}=-1.09$) are statistically reflecting the perception of directors of the beneficiaries satisfaction with employee. The findings suggests that the theoretical and practical implications will improve Effectiveness and Satisfaction of Veteran Medical Service Delivery System.

  • 본 연구는 비동시적 온라인 토론 환경에서 학습자의 참여에 영향을 미치는 요인들간의 관계를 보다 포괄적으로 규명하기 위한 기초 연구로 수행되었다. 이를 위해 온라인 토론과 관련된 선행연구 분석을 통해 교수학습설계요인, 동기적 요인, 사회-정서적 요인을 영향요인으로 도출하였으며, 영향요인들과 학습자의 인지적 참여(과정)와 학습(결과)간의 구조적 관계를 나타내는 이론적 연구모형을 제안하였다.

  • 여러 연구에서 정부시스템 개발 프로젝트의 핵심 성공 요인을 밝혀내고자 하는 노력들이 지속되어 왔다. 이러한 요인들로 의사소통, 참여자의 자질, 표준화 등의 여러 요인들이 고찰되어 왔으나, 실제 프로젝트 현장에서는 대부분의 프로젝트들이 그 수행의 근본이 되는 범위를 관리하고 통제하는데 실패하여 여러가지 어려움을 겪고 있는 것이 현실이다. 하지만 이러한 범위 관리가 프로젝트의 성과에 미치는 영향에 대한 실증적 연구는 부족한 상황이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 PMI(Project Management Institute)에서 정의하고 있는 프로젝트 수행 중의 범위관리 활동들이 실제 프로젝트의 공급자와 수요자의 관점에서의 성과에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지에 대한 실중연구를 수행하였다. 이를 통하여 그 영향의 정도와 범위관리의 각 활동들에 대한 우선순위를 도출하였으며, 공급자와 수요자의 관점에서의 프로젝트 성공을 위한 범위관리 전략을 제시하였다.

  • 기존의 언어교육시스템을 위한 가상환경에 대한 연구는 주로 피교육자에게 줄 수 있는 시각적인 효과에 초점을 두고 있다. 그러나, 환경의 논리적인 변화를 얼마나 효율적으로 표현으로 피교육자에게 전달할 수 있는가하는 연구는 아직 취약하다. 논리적인 모순이 존재하는 가상환경은 피교육자에 대한 흥미유발을 반감시킬 수 있으므로, 가상환경의 논리적인 모델링 기술의 개발이 필요하다. 논리적인 모델링이 된 가상환경에서 자연현상은 가상세계 전반에 걸쳐서 광범위하게 영향을 미치며, 피교육자에게 가장 큰 영향을 미치게 되므로 그 구현은 특히 중요하다. 또한, 논리적인 모델링이 된 가상환경에 접속한 피교육자의 입장에서 볼 때, 피교육자의 행동이 가상환경에 아무런 영향을 주지 못하거나 혹은 가상환경의 변화가 피교육자에게 영향을 주지 못한다면, 학습의 흥미나 몰입감이 떨어질 수 밖에 없으므로, 가상환경과 내부의 물리적객체의 상호작용의 처리 또한 중요한 문제이다. 본 논문에서는 가상환경과 그 내부의 물리적객체들간의 상호작용의 처리를 견지에 두고, 지식표현방법의 하나인 스크립트를 이용하여 가상환경에서의 자연현상 처리방법을 개발하도록 한다.

Effects of perspectives on preference judgment (판단자의 입장이 의사결정에 미치는 영향)

  • 판단자의 입장에 따라 의사결정에 영향을 미치는 요인이 달라지는지를 알아보기 위해 두 개의 실험을 실시하였다. 실험 1 에서는 투자 수준이 주식의 선택과 최고 매수가에 영향을 주는지 알아보았다. 투자수준에 관한 정보를 주는 조건과 그렇지 않은 조건간에 약간의 차이가 있었다. 매수자와 매도자의 입장에서 주식을 선택하거나 가격을 정하게 한 실험 2에서는 매도의 경우에는 기대값에 비중을 두나 매수자의 경우에는 이익을 얻을 확률정보에 더 비중을 두는 것을 관찰하였다. 이는 입장에 따라 정보의 유관성이 달라지는 것을 보여주는 것이었다.

  • With increasing international labour in Korea, the perspective of foreign workers' maintenance and changes of origin while living and working overseas provides a new angle for leadership research. For the purpose to investigate the effect of leadership on the group of foreign workers, this study targeted Filipino workers in U and G city and explored whether authentic leadership predicts foreign workers' work engagement and retainment through the potential intervening effect of interpersonal trust. The empirical study utilized SPSS, and results proved that authentic leadership has no significant relationship to foreign Filipino workers' work engagement directly, but authentic leadership showed a negative effect on Filipino workers' turnover intention. The full mediation effect of interpersonal trust proves the value and importance of establishing trust relationships in retaining foreign workers.

The Impact of Family Caregiving for the Elderly with Dementia on Depression in the United States: Does the Relationship of Caregivers to Care Recipients Matter? (미국 치매노인 부양자의 우울증에 영향을 미치는 요소: 배우자 부양자와 딸 부양자 비교 연구)

  • Adult child caregivers and spousal caregivers might deal with differential challenges. Studies about caregivers' psychological outcomes, however, tended to investigate associations between caregiving and its outcomes by pooling adult child caregivers and spousal caregivers together. By using a U. S. sample of family caregivers who assisted a relative with dementia, this study examined whether the relationship of caregivers to care receivers (daughter caregivers or spousal caregivers) made a difference in levels of depressive symptoms. The result showed that wife caregivers were more likely to be depressed than daughter caregivers. For daughter caregivers, role overload, role captivity, and behavior problems significantly influenced on depression. Besides these variables, the level of education was a significant predictor for wife caregivers. Role captivity and behavior problems significantly impacted on depression for husband caregivers. Thus, role captivity and behavioral problems were common predictors for all the caregivers. Specifically, higher levels of role captivity and behavioral problems were likely to make caregivers more depressed. The implication of these results were discussed.

Study on Museum Visitor Characteristics and Implications for Effective Management Reflecting on Visitor's Feedback (미술관의 방문자 특성과 방문 후 평가에 따른 효율적 경영에의 시사점)

  • This study is intended to examine the effect of characteristics of museum visitors and visit type on perceived relative status, aesthetic responses, and perceived visit benefits, which in turn affect visitor satisfaction and personal and social participatory behaviors. Research was held for four weeks. A total of 308 questionnaires were collected out of 315 distributed. However, additional 15 were excluded due to inadequate responses. The findings of the study are as follows: While museum visitor characteristics yielded significant effects on the perceived relative status and perceived visit benefit, it did not have significant effects on aesthetic responses. Additionally, while visit types showed considerable impact on perceived relative status, it did not yield significant effect on aesthetic responses or the perceived visit benefit. Perceived relative status of a museum had positive effects on aesthetic responses, but not on the perceived visit benefit. Furthermore, while perceived relative status did not have significant effect on visitor satisfaction, it did have evident effects on the aesthetic response and the perceived visit benefit. Lastly, greater visitor satisfaction was confirmed to contribute to greater participatory behavior in various prospective programs and events offered by museums. Hence, it would be imperative for museums to gear their attention to encourage internal participatory behaviors such as visitor education, donation and charity events, which would consequently transcend to viewing museums more as a public space shared by the general public.
