Factors Influencing the Depression of Residents in Permanent Rental Apartments (영구임대아파트 주민의 우울정도에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • This study was carried out to find out the factors influencing the depression of residents in perment-rental apartments. The sample consisted of 446 residents in the ages of over 19 but under 60 years old living in permanent-rental apartments in G cities. 74.4% among the permanent-rental apartment residents were found to be in the state of depression with 33.9% in severe depression. From Enter multiple regression analysis, it is revealed that self-esteem, health condition, age, life satisfaction, and problem drinking are the critical factors influencing the depression of perment-rental apartment residents. It is recommended that depression prevention programs for the residents in perment-rental apartments be developed in consideration of the critical factors identified from this study.

Alcohol Status and Related Factors of Drinking Problems among Residents at Permanent Rental Apartments (영구임대아파트 지역주민의 음주실태와 음주문제 관련요인)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify alcohol status and related factors of drinking problems among Residents at Permanent Rental Apartments in Incheon. Data was collected from 20 August 2012 to 28 September 2012, and the 663 subjects were analyzed using SPSS 18.0. The data was analyzed by using descriptive statistics, chi-square test and logistic regression. As a result of survey, alcohol consumption was low, but prevalence of alcohol was high. From the logistic regression analysis, age(less than 40), unmarried, drinking reason for habituation, insomnia, anxiety, unemployed and interpersonal relationships were associated with in drinking problems of the residents of permanent rental apartments. Considering of these variables, the future research is necessary to provide an individual approach based on problem drinking level as well as to provide a proactive approach and policy development for of permanent rental apartment residents.

A Convergence Study on the Depression Factors of Permanent Rental Apartment Residents : Focusing on K-Metropolitan City (영구임대아파트 입주자의 우울 영향요인에 관한 융합연구 : K 광역시를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the link that affects depression, a negative mental health problem for permanent rented apartment tenants, and to provide policy and practical support for reducing depression at the community level. To this end, 1,920 households of permanent rental apartment residents in K Metropolitan City were used in the survey. The results are as follows. First, more than half of the subjects surveyed 51.1% were found to have depressive symptoms. Second, among the demographic variables, the gender, age, single-person households, and social security benefits have a positive effect on depression. On the other hand, age squared and participation in economic activities were identified as factors to reduce depression. Third, among the residential community variables, the consideration for neighbors and their willingness to participate in the community were identified as factors to reduce depression. Fourth, physical health difficulties and mental health difficulties among the health status variables were identified as the determinants of depression. Based on the results of the study, the methods for intervention and follow-up studies to reduce depression in permanent rental apartment residents were discussed.

  • This study investigates both the dissatisfaction evaluation of residents in Kangseo Permanant Rental Housing(PRH) complex managed by SH corporation and their neighborhood's recognition on the PRH complex in terms of questionnaires divided by two groups. The result shows that the residents in PRH complex are especially dissatisfied with lining space and number of rooms, parking capacity, outmoded building, and incidence of crime.

  • Considering the present development situation of rental apartment since 1982, the supply of rental housing for low-income dwellers has contributed a amount of quantities, but has been deficient qualities in housing policy. To propose the device of remodeling for low-income dwellers in deteriorated apartment, this study investigated the energy consumption of central heating system and the characteristics of maintenance cost in permanent rental apartment. The results of evaluation of alternative heating systems by Life Cycle Costing in permanent rental apartment were as follows; From Life Cycle 15∼20 years by Present Worth Method, the economic heating system of remodeling is central heating system (heat source: B-C oil), unit heating system(natural gas), central heating system(natural gas) in order.

  • Permanent rental housing complex is subjected to both an increase in the crime rate due to its residential population structure and social, economic isolation for insecurd income of the residents. It should be considered that the densely populated area with low-income group of the city causing many problems related with the community. This study focused on the Man-soo 7 housing estate in Incheon with the area's average scale and ratio is made as an effort to include the residents who live in the permanent rental housing area among the members of the healthy community. The result of the research suggests the method of housing improvement to establish the successful support institution for self-sufficiency of the low income inhabitants analazying the demand of the residents through a survey categorized into resident support system, public workplace and inhabitant participation.

  • The purpose of this study is to find out how local residents using social welfare services in permanent rental apartment areas experience stigma, and how they perceive it. Data collection was carried out for 10 months from May 2012 to February 2013. Interviews were conducted with 13 users who are using or have the experience of using services in social welfare centers, and 12 hands-on workers of the institutions; the results were then analyzed using the modified grounded theory. The results of analysis are as follows. First, a considerable number of people living in permanent rental apartment areas experience stigma while experiencing impoverishment; and they also feel stigma in the formularization process to become recipients. Second, users experience stigma in the process of using social welfare center services located in permanent rental apartment areas after becoming recipients as well. Third, in cases where permanent rental apartment areas are located in the immediate neighborhood of general residence areas, residents living inside and outside the areas were found to give stigma to the residents of permanent rental apartment areas. This study has significance in that it provides an in-depth clarification of the reality of stigma experienced by users of social welfare center services in permanent rental apartment areas through qualitative research

  • There is a rapid increase of child care centers due to the growth of women's social activities and a nuclear family. Child care center is an important part of community facilities for apartment housing complex. This study aims to collect the basic data required to develop the planning standards for the child care centers. This research limited the child care centers which is situated to permanent rental housing complex. Therefore, this research presents the basic design guidelines for the space composition planning of child care centers by grasping the special quality connected with the space composition of child care centers among the community facilities that is located in the permanent rental apartment housing complex.
