임계 열유속(CHF) 상관식 형태와 적용 방법에 따른 예측 오차 및 여유도

  • 본 기술 보고는 임계 열유속(Critical Heat Flux; CHF)을 예측하기 위해 사용되고 있는 상관식의 형태와 적용 방법, 이에 따른 예측 오차와 여유도의 변화 등을 종합적으로 분석한다. CHF 현상에 대해서는 지난 반 세기 동안 발생 메커니즘, 예측 모델, 설계에의 적용 방법 등에 대한 연구가 광범위하게 수행되어 대부분의 운전 조건에 대해 신뢰할만한 예측 모델들이 확립되어 있다. 그러나 예측 모델의 이용에서 가장 중요한 기준이 되는 예측 오차의 의미가 잘못 이해되는 경우가 많으므로, 이 글에서는 예측 모델의 형태 및 적용 방법에 따라 예측 오차가 달라지는 원인을 명확하게 해석하고, 실제 계산을 통하여 예시하였다. 그리고 상관식 형태 및 이용 방법에 따라 임계 열유속비(Critical Heat Flux Ratio: CHFR)와 임계 출력비(Critical Power Ratio; CPR)가 어떠한 관계를 갖는가를 논의하였다.

Lumped System Analysis on the Lunar Surface Temperature Using the Bottom Conductive Heat Flux Model (달 표면온도 예측을 위한 집중계 해석방법과 하부 열유속 모델의 적용)

  • Instead of securing thermophysical properties throughout the entire lunar surface, a theoretical method to predict the lunar surface temperature accurately using improved Lumped System Model (LSM) was developed. Based on the recently published research, thermal mass per unit area at the top regolith layer is assumed uniform. The function of bottom conductive heat flux was introduced under the theoretical background. The LSM temperature prediction agrees well with the DLRE measurement except for dusk, dawn and high latitude region where the solar irradiation is weak. The relative large temperature discrepancy in such region is caused by the limit of the bottom conductive heat flux model. The surface temperature map of the moon generated by the LSM method is similar to the DLRE measurement except for the anomalous temperature zones where surface topography and thermophysical properties appear in highly uneven.

Convective Boiling of R-410A in an Aluminum Flat Tube for Air-Conditioning Application (공조용 알루미늄 납작관 내의 R-410A 대류 비등)

  • Flat tube heat exchangers can improve the thermal performance significantly compared with round tube heat exchangers. For proper design of flat tube heat exchangers, one should know the tubeside heat transfer coefficients. In this study, convective boiling heat transfer coefficients of R-410A were obtained in a flat extruded aluminum tube with $D_h=1.41mm$. The test range covered mass flux from 200 to $600kg/m^2s$, heat flux from 5 to $15kW/m^2$ and saturation temperature from $5^{\circ}C$ to $15^{\circ}C$. The heat transfer coefficient curve shows a decreasing trend after a certain quality(critical quality). The critical quality decreases as the heat flux increases, and as the mass flux decreases. The early dryout at a high heat flux results in a unique 'cross-over' of the heat transfer coefficient curves. The heat transfer coefficient increases as the mass flux increases. At a low quality region, however, the effect of mass flux is not prominent. The heat transfer coefficient increases as the saturation temperature increases. The effect of saturation temperature, however, diminishes as the heat flux decreases. Both the Shah and the Kaew-On et al. correlations reasonably predicted the present data.

Boiling Heat Transfer Characteristics of Deionized Water in Microchannel (마이크로 채널에서 물의 비등 열전달 특성)

  • An experimental study was carried out to measure the heat transfer coefficient in flow boiling to deionized water in a microchannel having a hydraulic diameter of $500{\mu}m$. Tests were performed in the ranges of heat fluxes from 100 to 400 kW/$m^2$, vapor qualities from 0 to 0.2 and mass fluxes of 200, 400 and 600 kg/$m^2s$. From the experimental results, it is found that the measured heat transfer coefficients is independent of mass flux and quality, and is somewhat dependent of heat flux. Measured data of heat transfer are compared to a few available correlations proposed for macroscale. The previous correlations for macroscale overpredicted the flow boiling heat transfer coefficient for the test conditions considered in this work.

  • This paper describes the smoke filling process of a fire field model based on a self-developed SMEP(Smoke Movement Estimating Program) code to the simulation of fire induced flows in the two types of atrium space containing a ceiling heat flux. The SMEP using PISO algorithm solves conservation equations for mass, momentum, energy and species, together with those for the modified k- epsilon turbulence model with buoyancy term. Compressibility is assumed and the perfect gas law is used. The results of the calculated upper-layer average temperature and smoke layer interface height has shown reasonable agreement compared with the zone models. The zone models used are the CFAST developed at the Building and Fire Research Laboratory NIST U.S.A. and the NBTC one-room of FIRECALC developed at CSIRO, Australia. The smoke layer interface heights that are important in fire safety were not as sensitive as the smoke layer temperature to the nature of ceiling heat flux condition.

Development of 2-ton thrust-level sub-scale calorimeter (추력 2톤급 축소형 칼로리미터 개발)

  • A calorimeter of 2-ton thrust level rocket engine chamber has been developed to measure the wall heat flux. The liner of the chamber is made of copper-chromium alloy to maximize the heat transfer performance and structural strength. 1-D design code based on empirical correlations has been used for the prediction of the global thermal characteristics while 3-D CFD has been applied for the verification of local cooling performance. The predicted average wall heat flux at the throat is 43 $MW/m^{2}$ for the combustion chamber pressure of 53 bar. The chamber structure is confirmed to be safe at the pressure of 150 bar through 2-D stress analysis and measurement of the strain of the test species. Finally, the test of pressurizing the calorimeter chamber has been performed with water at the pressure of 150 bar in room temperature environment. No thermal damage has been detected after the hot-fire test in the test nozzle of same cooling performance with the developed calorimeter though the measured throat heat flux is higher than the design value by 10%.

Experimental Investigation on Forced Convective Heat Transfer Characteristic Generated to Heated Tube (가열된 튜브에서 발생하는 강제 대류열전달 특성에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • The Heated Tube Facility(HIF) was fabricated to identify the forced convective heat transfer and the cooling characteristic for the hydrocarbon fuel(Jet A-1), which is used for the coolant of the regenerative cooling system. The forced convective heat transfer coefficient was calculated from the measured coolant and tube surface temperature. In case of using the Jet A-1, the maximum heat flux which the coolant can absorb was identified by determining the critical wall temperature generating the burnout on the fixed flow condition. The inlet bulk-temperature of the coolant has a direct influence on the forced convective heat transfer characteristic.

환상유로에서의 고압, 저유량조건하의 임계열유속

  • 한국원자력연구소에서는 최고 16MPa애서 운전할 수 있는 RCS 열수력 Loop를 저작하고 CHF 측정실험을 수행하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 저유량조건에서 압력이 CHF에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위해 압력 12MPa, 질량유속 300~550kg/$m^2$.s, Test Section입구 과냉도 210 kJ/kg의 범위에서 CHF 실험을 수행하였다. 본 실험조건에서 CHF는 환상류영역에서 발생하였으며 발생기구는 Entrainment-Limited CHF가 지배적이었다. Doerffer의 CHF 상관식은 저압에서 예측능력이 현저하게 떨어지나 고압조건에서는 실험자료를 잘 예측하였다. Bowring의 상관식은 고압 및 저압에서도 양호한 예측능력을 보여주었다.
