Performance Analysis on Next Generation Korea Radio Train Control System Network (한국형 차세대 무선통신 열차제어시스템 네트워크 성능평가)

  • In this paper, we analyze the performance and reliability of the next-generation KRTCS (Korea Radio Train System) network. The KRTCS has been designed to manage and control the overall status of trains including location, speed, stop position, door open/close status and interior monitoring and so forth. System faults of the KRTCS operation can lead to the disruption of smooth train flow, even to terrible traffic accident. Prior to installation we need to assure the reliability of the designed KRTCS system. For this purpose, we simulated and analyzed the KRTCS network using QualNet simulator, assuming the various environmental operation data of train flows and communication faults that can be found in real telecommunication networks.

Convergence Influential Factors on Stress of Workers in the Field of Railroad Electricity by the Railroad Work Characteristics (철도전기 분야 근무자들의 철도 관련 근무 특성이 스트레스에 미치는 융합적 영향 요인)

  • The purpose of this study is to find the railroad work characteristics that influence stress of workers in the field of Railroad electricity including railroad signaling. After a self-administered questionnaire survey was conducted from Feb. 13 to Mar. 10 of the year 2017, 445 questionnaire copies were analyzed. Objective work characteristics include total working period, current workplace, work type, train service count, train line type, a type of train in charge, failure/accident participation count, work on holidays, and work hours. Subjective work characteristics include work life satisfaction and subjective work intensity. According to bivariate analysis, stress was different depending on all railroad work characteristics. According to multivariate analysis, total working period, train service count, a type of train in charge, work on holidays, work life satisfaction, and subjective work intensity were found to be influential factors. The moderating effect of subjective work characteristics was not found in the relation between objective work characteristics and stress. Therefore, it is necessary for companies to pay attention to the influential factors on stress and manage stress.

Unsteady Wind Pressure Analysis on PSD Considering Subway Station Configurations (지하철 역사 형상을 고려한 PSD 비정상 풍압해석)

  • In this study, unsteady wind pressure analyses on platform screen door (PSD) have been conducted considering the flow intereference effects between the moving train and the configuration of subway station. The major role of PSD prevents passenger accidents, wind pressure, polluted dust and noise when the train is entering the station platform. Computational fluid dynamic method with moving gird algorithm has been adopted to accurately predict unsteady pressure levels exerted on the PSD. Closed and open type station configuration are considered. Also, wind pressure levels for passing and stopping drive motion of the entering train are presented and practically compared each other.

  • 최근 철도 산업의 비중이 증가함에 따라 열차의 안정적인 주행이 그 어느 때보다 중요한 이슈로 부각되고있다. 특히, 열차의 진로 변경을 위한 핵심 요소인 선로전환기의 결함은 열차의 사고와 직결되는 장비 중 하나로써, 그 이상 여부를 사전에 인지하여 선로전환기의 안정성을 확보하기 위한 유지보수의 지능화 시스템이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 선로전환기의 작동 시 발생하는 소리정보를 활용하여 선로전환기의 비정상 상황을 분류하는 시스템을 제안한다. 제안하는 시스템은 먼저, 선로전환기의 상황별 소리를 수집하고, 다양한 소리정보를 추출하여 특징 벡터를 생성한다. 다음으로, 딥러닝 모델 중 하나인 DNN(Deep Neural Network)을 이용하여 선로전환기의 비정상 상황을 분류한다. 실제 선로전환기의 전환 시 발생하는 소리 데이터를 기반으로 DNN의 파라미터에 따른 다양한 실험을 수행한 결과, 약 93.10%의 정확도를 갖는 안정적인 DNN 모델을 설계하였다.

  • 사건, 사고 관련 기사의 요약은 단순히 원문이 무엇을 말하는 가를 지시하는 것보다 가능한 요지를 판독하면서 필요한 정보를 누락시키지 않고 표현할 수 있는 것이 바람직하다. 이를 위하여 본 논문에서는 사건, 사고 관련 기사의 자동 요약문 생성을 위한 중간 개념 표현 방법을 제안한다. 단락 자동 구분을 통한 중요 문장 추출을 거쳐 각 단락의 중심문장을 파악하고, 단락내의 정보들을 의미 파악된 중심 문장에 추가, 병합하여 단락의 내용을 대표하는 Paragraph Representation Structure(PRS)를 생성한다. 이들은 통합과정을 거쳐 하나의 Unified Representation Structure(URS)로 만들어지며, 이것은 중간 개념 표현으로 다국어 자동 요약문 생성을 위한 기반이 될 수 있다. 본 연구에 이용한 코퍼스는 비행기, 선박, 차량, 열차 사고와 화제 폭발 및 사건 관련 신문 기사를 대상으로 한다.

  • The study aims at analyzing an underground station refuge model using EXODUS, one of the refuge simulation programs. The model for simulation is the Daegu Subway (Joongang-ro station). The details of the accident are referred to as the simulation condition the refuge time of traveling from the $3^{rd}$ basement platform to the $1^{st}$ basement is mainly calculated, with passengers numbering 1,000 including 329 at car 1079, 320 at car 1080, and 360 who are not on board. Reference data is used to set up the position of passengers. CFAST fire simulator is also used, and a fast curve among the $t^2$ growth curves, selected as fire growth scenario. The zone is divided into a total of 24 including 18 at the $3^{rd}$ basement platform and 6 at the $2^{nd}$ basement the $1^{st}$ basement is excluded in the fire simulation, however.

  • This study presented quantitative risk analysis in case of transporting explosive materials by railway. Accident types were classified into accidents of in station and in transit. And the study presented an initial value of accident frequency through derailment accident and crushing one according to each type, and drew the results of accident frequency through event tree analysis. Damage impact evaluation used TNT equivalent method and probit analysis method. As the result of risk evaluation, railway transportation of explosive materials passing through areas which are high in population density is appeared to be able to cause a large number of personnel injury when occurring accidents. Specially, the accident of explosive transportation combined with petroleum was forecasted as easily resulting in large explosive accident. Consequently, there is a necessity to reduce consequences by decreasing passage through areas where are high in population density, and take measures for lessening the risks in case of transporting dangerous explosive materials.

  • As a result of investment in railway safety focusing on passenger safety, the train accident rate has been reduced by half domestically and we have reached a high level of safety compared to other countries and other transportation modes. However, accidents related to staff are still at a high ratio compared to other countries. There have been few studies on staff safety and no relevant systematic safety measures have been implemented. More than 90% of staff fatalities occurred from rolling stock in motion and electrification, which are representative railway accidents. In this study, causes of accidents, and current safety measures for staff are analyzed focusing on trains in motion. The results can be utilized for developing new safety measures.

  • Crashworthy design of a train is a systematic approach to ensure the safety of passengers and crews in railway transportation for the prescribed accident scenarios. This approach needs new structural arrangements and designs to absorb higher levels of impact energy in a controlled manner and interior designs to minimize passenger injuries. In this paper, an evaluation method for crashworthiness of Korean tilting train express is introduced. Crush characteristics for each part of tilting train express are evaluated numerically through 3-dimensional shell element analysis with LS-DYNA. Based on a head-on collision and a level crossing collision scenarios, the crash behaviors of tilting train express are evaluated numerically using full-rake collision simulations.
