Abnormal Situation Analysis of Railway Point Machine Using Data Cube and OLAP (Data cube와 OLAP기법을 이용한 철도 선로전환기의 이상상황 분석)

  • 선로전환기는 분기기에서 철도의 궤도를 변경하는 핵심장치 중 하나로서, 해당 부품의 고장은 열차사고에 직접적인 영향을 미친다. 현재 철도 현장에서는 관리자가 모니터링 시스템을 통해 선로전환기의 장애 및 이상상황을 감시하고 지침서에 따라 관리를 수행한다. 본 논문에서는 실제 현장에서 발생하는 대규모의 선로전환기 이상상황 데이터를 대상으로 빅 데이터 해석학적 입장에서 심층 분석이 가능한 새로운 철도 유지보수 분석 시스템의 프로토타입을 제안한다. 제안하는 시스템은 첫째, 유지관리시스템에 저장된 선로전환기 데이터와 이상상황 데이터를 정규화하고 추출하여 베이스 테이블을 생성한다. 둘째, 베이스 테이블 상의 속성들을 스타 스키마로 설계하여 철도 유지보수 큐브로 구축한다. 마지막으로, 매핑된 철도 유지보수 큐브와 오라클에서 제공하는 AWM을 활용해 다차원적이고 심층적인 OLAP(On-Line Analytical Processing) 분석이 가능하다.

  • 본 연구는 지속적인 여객 및 화물량의 증가로 기존 수송수단이 포화에 이른 실정에 새로운 교통수단으로 추진한 고속철도 사업에 대해, 고속철도 개통 후 단기간에 드러난 이용현황 및 문제점을 도출해 기선방안을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 위해 관련 단체 및 기관의 자료를 수집 분석하였으며, 설문조사를 수행하여 결과를 도출하였다. 또한 광범 위한 고속철도 사업의 특성아래 여객 부문에 대한 대중교통 측면으로 연구의 범위를 한정하였다. 고속철도 개통 후, 여객 및 화물 수송의 형태에는 단기간이나마 큰 변화가 있는 것으로 나타났으나 그에 반해 고속철도의 이용에 있어서 주목할 만한 문제점 또한 조사되었다. 주요 사항으로는 역방향 유해성, 일반열차로의 불편전이, 터널통과시의 소음 등으로서 이는 개통 초기 고속철도에 대한 그릇된 대국민 인식을 가져오게 함과 동시에 향후 개인들간 교통수단 선택에 있어서까지 그릇된 영향을 끼칠 수 있다. 현재 각각의 문제점에 대한 개선방안으로 일반열차 확대 및 할인혜택, 점진적인 순방향 좌석으로서 교체 및 소음 저감방안을 위한 연구 용역 등이 실행되거나 준비되고 있으나 그에 대한 뚜렷한 개선 징후는 아직 미미한 상태로 분석되고 있다. 본 연구에서 실시한 설문조사 결과 아직까지는 고속철도에 대한 인식이 긍정적인 수준을 보이고 있으나 개별 문제점에 대한 좀더 깊은 고찰과 개선안 제시가 이루어진다면 향후 고속철도에 대한 대국민 인식을 한 단계 더 높여, 그 이용을 활성화 시킬 수 있는 좋은 기회가 될 것으로 판단된다.

  • The abnormally high temperature of the train part is related to train accidents and monitoring is important for safe operation of trains. In case of KTX an abnormality detecting device that detects the abnormality of the axle and scans the urban railway is installed on the railroad and when there is an abnormal heat generation, a system for automatically informing the control center is installed. The IR sensors module used in this system are depend on quick response. we have conducted a study on the fast response test method through the production of experimental equipments.

  • The use of CWR track not only reduces the track maintenance cost, but increase the life cycle of track components. Therefore, the use of the CWR track has increased consistently in the worldwide. As the use of CWR increases in track structures, derailing disasters associating with track buckling also increase in great numbers due to high compressive thermal stress in the summer. Among many CWR parameters, the influence of the sectional properties of the rail was investigated on the stability of CWR track in this study. Also, the sensitivity of the broken fastener and the stiffness of the fastener system such as the translational and rotational stiffness was investigated.

  • 본 논문은 YOLO 기반 모델의 철도 시스템 내 선로 고정장치 탐지 성능을 비교하고 분석한다. 여기서 철도 시스템은 열차가 주행하기 위한 선로, 침목, 패스너 등의 구성요소를 포함한다. 침목은 지반과 직접적으로 연결되며, 선로를 지반 위에 안정적으로 지지하고 궤간을 정확하게 유지하는 역할을 한다. 또한, 패스너는 선로를 침목에 단단히 고정시키는 역할을 한다. 이러한 선로 고정장치의 부재는 인명 사고로 이어질 수 있어 지속적인 관리와 유지 보수가 필수적이다. 본 논문에서는 철도 시스템의 선로 고정장치 탐지를 위해 YOLO V5 및 V8 딥러닝 모델의 적용 가능성을 실험적으로 접근하며, 두 모델의 탐지 성능을 비교한다. 실험 결과, YOLO V8 및 V5 모델은 모두 뛰어난 성능을 보이는데, 특히 YOLO V8 모델이 더욱 우수한 성능을 보인다. 이로써 YOLO 알고리즘은 선로 고정장치 탐지에 적합하다는 것을 증명한다. 그러나 일부 False Positive Sample이 관측되었음을 확인하고, 이로부터 모델 성능의 개선이 필요하다는 결론을 도출하였다.

  • There are a lot of curved subway stations in Seoul metropolitan area. These must be straightly constructed as many as possible. But some of stations are roundly designed and built in order to avoid pre-existed underground obstacle such as basement of high rise building, underground gas or water pipe line and subway stations from another line. As shown fig 1, one of the biggest problem occurring curved subway station is considered large gap between platform and vehicle when vehicle completely stop at the station. The gap potentially is in existence to subway passenger as very dangerous factors in rush hours. If passenger accidentally drop their food or leg between this gap when they get on the train and train leaves station, the passenger will be seriously injured by vehicle. In this paper, various design and instruments are introduced and best solution for this matter will be presented. In order to eliminate any possibility of accident happened gap between platform and vehicle, KRRI(Korea Railroad Research Institute) have been developed new safety instrument. These technologies were applied for patent by KRRI. These mechanisms will provide confidence as well as safety to Korean subway passenger

  • The railway accident is characterized by widespread and great(immerse) damage to our society when an accident occurred even if the probability of a railway accident is low. It is no doubt that the role of a rolling stock driver who are active in the first line of the rail safety driving is the most important to prevent an unexpected railway accident. Before new railway safety law being taken into effect, each railway operating organization had the responsibility of training a rolling stock driver by qualification criteria (the requirements or standards of competency), training period, probation period decided on their own standards. To train drivers driving same locomotive model, each railway operating organization had a variety of standards to draft and train trainees. Consequently, It was considered inefficient way to train and manage rolling stock drivers. However, after implementing the new railway safety law, a new system including training and evaluation process to issue driver's license on the condition that entire requirements are satisfied has been established. To prove the competency of the rolling stock driver objectively, training center and third-party evaluation center are divided individually and assigned by government office. Training center should design the training program to allot theatrical education time for different trainee group and to secure maximum practical training time utilizing simulator system to enhance the rolling stock driver's competency. This study analyzes certain conditions necessary to maximize the effectiveness and practical use of training for aquisition of a driver's license and the problems of the existing rail safety law and the ways to improve them.

Experimental study on applicability of Air-Curtain system in train fire at subsea tunnel rescue station (해저터널 열차 화재 시 구난역 에어커튼 시스템의 성능에 관한 실험 연구)

  • Visibility is very poor in tunnel fire because of confined space where the fire may easily lead to the mass casuality incident because of fast smoke spread. In this test, air curtain and the fan were installed at rescue station in a bid to make use of rescue station in safe way during the train fire in undersea tunnel and a full-scale fire test was conducted to identify the applicability of air curtain system. Air curtain system was installed at a real rescue station and the test was continued for 2 minutes till heptane which was used as fire source was completely burned out. When air curtain was working, difference in temperature between inside and outside the platform was $160^{\circ}C$ and carbon monoxide measured inside the platform was less than the case of no air curtain system by 160 ppm. Thus a full-scale fire test demonstrated that the air curtain system installed at rescue station in undersea tunnel was able to effectively block the heat and smoke generated from the fire.

  • The railway signaling system, which controls the course of trains and the distance between trains, is a safety critical system of the railway system because derailment or collision of trains can occur if unsafe failure is generated by any fault. The international standards of reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety of railway applications require that the safety of functions be guaranteed in safety critical systems; system reliability and safety are quantitatively estimated and demonstrated by the failure rates of devices. The development of technology has accelerated the development of railway signaling systems. Existing devices, which have already been verified as to their safety, are applied with special user requirements to reflect the new operation scenario. It is found that the reliability and safety of the devices are different depending on individual application. Therefore, the reliability of the railway signaling system must be considered while complying with the international standards; this requires that the initial failure rate be estimated and demonstrated using fault data gathered over several years. This paper shows a method for demonstrating the initial estimated failure rate and suggests a fault data collection method and an overall process that is based on probability.

  • The turnout system, which determines the direction of the train, is not only a key system but also a vulnerable system. Failure of this system may lead to a delay of the train or even casualties. In this light, it is necessary to precisely the conditions of the turnout system. Currently, ROADMASTER of Germany is used as a diagnostic system in Korea. However, a new diagnostic system should be developed for optimized operation of the turnout system with maintenance that is suitable for the Korean railway environment. In this paper, a Fault Tree Analysis for the representative faults of the turnout system is conducted and physical quantities, which can be the cause of the fault, are classified according to the component and function. Also, the measuring factors for the monitoring are derived and a decision making theory is suggested. On the basis of the results, we propose a new turnout diagnostic system that can provide more driverse and precise information than the conventional system.
