  • We suggested the novel actuator mechanism to apply to wearable assistive system for the improvement of quality of life of the elderly or the people with disability using it. Characteristics of metal-hydride (MH) actuator is investigated in the novel actuating concept. The hydrogen equilibrium pressure increases when hydrogen is desorbed by heating a SMH alloys, whereas by cooling that alloys, the hydrogen equilibrium pressure decreases and hydrogen is absorbed. However, there are too long times in heat transfer mechanism to apply the assistive and rehabilitative device. In this study, 3 different SMH module were designed and characteristics of heat transfer in each SMH module were investigated based on the heat simulation.

Effect of temperature on torrefaction of food waste to produce solid fuel (반탄화를 통한 음식물쓰레기의 연료화에서 온도에 대한 영향 비교)

  • In this study, the torrefaction of food waste was conducted to characterize its product, to find out effect of the operating temperature and to assess the feasibility of being used as fuel. The operating temperature was varid from $180^{\circ}C{\sim}270^{\circ}C$ and heat was provided by using nitrogen gas or waste oil heat carrier. The solid yield and moisture content were reduced were reduced as temperature increased. The moisture content reduction and thermochemical conversion were observed at higher than $240^{\circ}C$. At low operating temperature, heat transfer efficiency was higher with wast oil heat carrier. As temperature increases, there was not difference in heat transfer efficiency of two different heating methods. The lower heating value product was increased from 660 to 6,400 Kcal/kg with nitrogen gas and 6,890 Kcal/kg with waste oil heat carrier. The elemental analysis indicates that, as temperature increases, the carbon content of product increases and oxygen content decreases. From the analysis of O/C and H/C, the torrefaction product was close to low grade coal. The characteristics of fuel converted from the food subsequent thermochemical treatment.

가스 발생기를 이용한 수직발사 사출 시스템에 관한 해석적 연구

  • 본 연구에서는 가스 발생기에서 발생되는 고온, 고압의 가스를 이용하여 유도탄을 수직 발사하는 사출 시스템에 대해 해석적 연구를 수행하였다. 사출 시스템에 의한 수직발사 방식은 발사관내에 설치된 가스 발생기에 의해 생성된 가스가 사출 실린더의 피스톤을 구동시켜, 피스톤에 연결된 유도탄을 요구되는 높이로 사출 시킨 후 유도탄이 점화되는 발사방식이다. 이러한 발사방식은 유도탄 자체의 부스터 발사방식에 비해 유도탄의 화염에 의한 영향이 적다. 현재 사출 시스템은 가스발생기, 가스 튜브, 사출 실린더와 피스톤으로 구성되어있다. 본 논문은 가스 발생기에서 사출 실린더까지의 내부 유동장을 일차원적으로 모델링하였고, 가스발생기, 가스튜브, 실런더 내의 유동과 열전달 과정 및 유도탄의 동적거동에 대한 미분방정식을 연립하여 4th-order Runge-Kutta 방법으로 계산하였다. 또한 가스튜브와 사출 실린더의 열전달 손실에 대하여 1차원 비정상 열전도 방정식의 수치적 계산을 통해 에너지 손실을 계산하였다. 특히 해석에 사용된 작동유체인 추진제 가스의 열학적 상태량은 온도 함수의 5차 다항식으로 표현하여 사용하였다. 이론적인 해석을 통해 사출 장치 시스템의 성능 요구조건과 신뢰성을 만족시키기 위한 가스발생기의 추진제 그레인 및 사출 시스템 설 계 조건을 도출하였다.

  • 본 축열탱크 열전달에 관한 실험적 연구는 국내에서 개발하고 있는 태양열 온수기용으로 현재 널리 이용되고 있는 탱크-코일 방식의 문제점을 해결하면서 열전달 효율이 높은 2중 축열탱크를 개발하기 위한 것이다. 2중 축열탱크의 용량은 100리터로서 수평 및 수직형으로 설치하여 실험이 가능하도록 설계.제작하였고 탱크내부의 온도는 길이방향 및 반지름 방향으로 각각 등간격으로 설치하여 측정하였고 집열매체의 입.출구온도를 동시에 측정하였다. 실험결과는 (1) 축열탱크의 형태에 관계없이 축열탱크와 열교환을 하는 열매체의 유량이 증가할수록 열전달량은 증가한다. (2) 축열탱크의 형태에 따른 탱크내부 물의 온도 상승속도는 수직형(b)인 경우가 가장 크고, 그 다음 수직형(a), 수평형의 순으로 나타났다. 따라서 이중탱크형의 축열탱크는 수평형 보다 수직형이 동일한 용량의 축열매체 온도를 신속히 상승시킬 수 있다. 아울러 열성층화에 의하여 고온의 축열매체를 이용할 경우 수직형 축열탱크가 더욱 우수한 결과를 나타낸다. (3) 축열탱크 열전달계수(UA) 값은 ( $T_{in}$ - $T_{out}$)/$\Delta$ $T_{m}$ 의 크기에 좌우되며, 열전달계수를 설치방법에 따라 비교하면 수직형(b)>수직형(a)>수평형의 순서로 나타났다.다.

Comparative Investigation of Convective Heat Transfer Coefficients for Analyzing Compressed Hydrogen Fueling Process (압축 수소 충전 공정 해석을 위한 대류 열전달 계수 비교 분석)

  • Commercial hydrogen fuel cell vehicles are charged by compressing gaseous hydrogen to high pressure and storing it in a storage tank in the vehicle. This process causes the temperature of the gas to rise, to ensure the safety to storage tanks, the temperature is limited. Therefore, a heat transfer model is needed to explain this temperature rise. The heat transfer model includes the convective heat transfer phenomenon, and accurate estimation is required. In this study, the convective heat transfer coefficient in the hydrogen fueling process was calculated and compared using various correlation equations considering physical phenomena. The hydrogen fueling process was classified into the fueling line from the dispenser to the tank inlet and the storage tank in the vehicle, and the convective heat transfer coefficients were estimated according to process parameters such as mass flow rate, diameter, temperature and pressure. As a result, in the case of the inside of the filling line, the convective heat transfer coefficient was about 1000 times larger than that of the inside of the storage tank, and in the case of the outside of the filling line, the convective heat transfer coefficient was about 3 times larger than that of the outside of the storage tank. Finally, as a result of a comprehensive analysis of convective heat transfer coefficients in each process, it was found that outside the storage tank was lowest in the entire hydrogen fueling process, thus dominated the heat transfer phenomenon.

  • Obtaining external forced convection heat transfer from bubble boiling and validating it with experimental results using cryogenic liquids are suggested to derive total heat transfer coefficient with pool boiling condition in the case of coil type heat exchanger with a bundle of tubes and to overcome the limitation of using the empirical correlation. Experiment is conducted with pool boiling heat transfer of saturate liquid nitrogen with helical coil type heat exchanger using liquid oxygen as hot stream fluid. Experimentally measured heat transfer coefficient is well-agreed with the estimated curve considering nucleate boiling and forced convection induced by bubble rise.

  • In this study, the conventional plane tip, double squealer tip, and various groove tip blades were tested in a linear cascade in order to measure the effect of the tip shapes on tip surface heat transfer coefficient distributions. Detailed heat transfer coefficient distributions were measured using a hue-detection based transient liquid crystals technique. Two tip gap clearances of 1.5% and 2.3% of blade span were investigated and the Reynolds number based on cascade exit velocity and chord length was $2.48{\times}10^5$. Results showed that the overall heat transfer coefficients on the tip surface with various grooved tips were lower than those with plane tip blade. The overall heat transfer coefficient on grooved along suction side tip was lower than that on the squealer tip.

Numerical Analysis of New Proposals to Enhance Heat Transfer in MCFC'S Preconverter (열전달 향상을 위한 새로운 MCFC 연료전지용 프리컨버터의 수치해석)

  • In this study, two proposals for the wall heating preconverter of an MCFC are numerically studied to resolve hot temperature generation near the wall by the low thermal conductivity of the catalyst. The numerical results show that the inserted porous cupper plates on the catalyst evidently improve heat transfer and realize more uniform reforming in the preconverter. The calculated results for the preconverter with a circumference empty space of catalyst located at center, 1/2 and 4/5 from center line are compared. The circumference empty space located at 1/2 position shows better results than other cases, but the positive effect on the uniform reforming process is less than in the case of inserted cupper porous plates on the catalyst.
