Thermal Nitridation of Si by RF Induction Heating (고주파 유도 가열에 의한 Si의 열적질화)

  • Characteristics of the direct thermal nitrided films by RF induction heating has been studied. The nitrided films on Si were prepared at 1000-1200\ulcorner in ammonia gas ambient. The nitrided films were analyzed by ellipsometry an Auger electron spectroscopy. I-V and C-V characteristics of MIS capacitors fabricated using nitrided film were investicated. The nitrided films were grown up mostly within initial thirty minutes and no significant growth was observed thereafter. Etch rates of films were about 1\ulcornermin in diluted HF (HF:H2O= 1:50). The nitrided films were resistant to dry and wet oxidations at temperatures below 1000\ulcorner and 900\ulcorner, respectively.

  • 방사성 폐기물 소각로에서 발생하는 off-gas중에는 NOx가 포함되어 있으며 이를 제어하기 위하여 NOx 배출의 재어에 효과적이라고 알려진 SCR법을 사용하여 실험을 행하였다. NOx 방출 저감화를 위해 상업화된 다양한 촉매들 중에서 V$_2$O$_{5}$, MoO$_3$ Fe$_2$O$_3$ 그리고 SnO$_2$를 TiO$_2$honeycomb형태의 담체에 담지시켜 제조한 촉매들의 특성을 조사하고 여러 변수들, 예를 들면 촉매의 종류, 담체의 종류, 반응온도, feed의 조성 등이 반응특성에 미치는 영향을 실험실 규모의 반응기에서 조사하였다. 10%V$_2$O$_{5}$TiO$_2$촉매가 35$0^{\circ}C$에서 94.4%의 높은 NO-$N_2$전환율을 보였으며 열적 안정성이 높은 SnO$_2$나 MoO$_3$의 첨가는 높은 전환율을 보이는 온도 범위를 확장시켜 주었다.

  • For the pleasant dwelling place, the most of apartments are designed with the increased green area ratio in ground space and the underground parking lot. However, the condensation in underground space has occasionally occurred due to the insufficient ventilation and insulation treatment. Despite reinforcement of the insulation treatment and mechanical ventilation for the preventing method of condensation. It seems difficult to expect preventing effects for the condensation without consideration of the thermal characteristic of structures. Furthermore, no fundamental measure has been established because maintenance work for these defects incurs a lot of costs and these defects could be occurred again. This study suggests a new method for preventing floor surface condensation through analyzing the reasons of condensation which occurred in the underground floor.

  • For the amorphous F $e_{78}$ $B_{13}$S $i_{9-x}$G $e_{x}$ alloy, thermal analysis and measurements of the magnetic properties were carried out. As the content of Ge increased, the crystallization temperature was decreased and the Curie temperature was increased, and the tendencies were almost linear. The core loss of the amorphous alloy for x=1.7, field annealed at optimized condition, was 0.057 W/kg(l.0T, 60Hz), which was about 30% lower than that of no Ge added amorphous alloy (basic composition). Such a low core loss characteristics was thought to be caused by the lower coercive force and good squareness of B-H loop of the alloy.y.y.

  • Nanostructured materials are attracting increased interest and application. Exciting perspectives may be offered by electrical insulation. Epoxy/Organoclay nanocomposites may find new and upgraded applications in the electrical industry, replacing conventional insulation to provide improved performances in electric power apparatus, e.g, high voltage motor/generator stator winding insulation, dry mold transformer, etc. This paper shows that electrical and thermal properties of epoxy/organoclay nanocomposites insulating materials for dsc, dielectric constant, I-V characteristics, breakdown volatge, can improve significantly with respect to the basic, virgin materials.

  • Hydroxypropyl chitin (HPCH) was prepared by reacting chitin with propylene oxide. HPCH showed the improved solubility in several organic solvents compared with chitin. It showed the remarkable solubility in formic acid. Form the results of polarized microscopic observatoin of HPCH solution in formic acid, finger-print pattern was observed in concentrations over 30 wt% solution. Since no typical thermogram was observed in DSC scan, the HPCH showed a lyotropic cholestric liquid crystallinity.

  • Nitric oxide ($NO_x$) formation characteristics in non-premixed diffusion flames of methane fuels have been investigated experimentally and numerically by adding 10% ammonia to the fuel stream, according to the variation of the oxygen ratio in the oxidizer with oxygen/carbon dioxide and oxygen/nitrogen mixtures. In an experiment of coflow jet flames, in the case of an oxidizer with oxygen/carbon dioxide, the $NO_x$ emission increased slightly as the oxygen ratio increased. On the other hand, in case of an oxygen/nitrogen oxidizer, the $NO_x$ emission was the maximum at an oxygen ratio of 0.7, and it exhibited non-monotonic behavior according to the oxygen ratio. Consequently, the $NO_x$ emission in the condition of oxyfuel combustion was overestimated as compared to that in the condition of conventional air combustion. To elucidate the characteristics of $NO_x$ formation for various oxidizer compositions, 1D and 2D numerical simulations have been conducted by adopting one kinetic mechanism. The result of 2D simulation for an oxidizer with oxygen/nitrogen well predicted the trend of experimentally measured $NO_x$ emissions.

  • This study, in order to do a nondestructive research on the mural walls kept in the protective house in Muwisa Temple, Kangjin, took four examinations; particle size analysis, XRD analysis, ultrasonic investigation, and thermo-infrared investigation. Component ratio of mural wall varied; clay of wall bodies consisted of gravel of 1.78 g, sand of 5.39 g, silt of 4.91 g and clay of 6.26 g. Ultrasonic velocity and one-axis compression strength tests done with eight mural-painted walls yield results as follows; the value of ultrasonic velocity ranged between 71.63 and 3610.11 m/s with the average of 417.44 m/s and on-axis compression strength ranged between 70.34 and $533.28kg/cm^2$ with the average of $83.23kg/cm^2$. The value increased in the order of Bosaldo(No.6)

  • A series of new dimesogenic compounds were prepared and their thermotropic and liquid crystalline properties were studied by differential scanning calorimetry and on a hot-stage of a polarizing microscope. These compounds, 1,10-bis[2,5-bis(4-substitutedphenoxycarbonyl)phenoxy]decanes, consist of two bis(ρ-substitutedphenoxy)terephthalate units interconnected through a oxydecamethyleneoxy spacer on the central terephthaloyl units resulting in the structure of "H-shaped" dimeric twin compounds. The terminal substitutent groups were changed; X=-F, -H, -I, -Cl, -Br, $-NO_2,\;-CF_3,\;-OC_4H_9,\;-CN\;and\;-C_6H_5.$ The compounds with X=$-OC_4H_9,\;-CN\;and\;-C_6H_5$ were monotropically nematic. In contrast, the compounds with $X=-F, -H, -I, -Cl, -Br, $-NO_2\;and\;-CF_3$ were non-liquid crystals. The nematic group efficiency of these compounds was in the order of -C_6H_5>-CN>-OC_4H_9.$

  • The synthesized ZnO powder was prepared by spray pyrolysis method using ultrasonic vibrator. The starting solutons were the aqueous solution of $Zn(NO_3)_2\cdot6H_2O$. The concentration was prepared 1M, O.5M, O.25M, and O.lM. The Nz carrier gas was 2.3cm$\cdot{sec}^{-1}$. The prepared powder from the $Zn(NO_3)_2{\cdot}6H_2O$ aqueous solution was Zine oxide with hexagonal structure. The shape of prepared powder was fine size, narrow size distribution, agglomerate-free, nearly sphere particle. Also, the particle size was about $ 0.28-0.61\mum$.
