A flow visualization of the 1st cycle motion of a fling-clapping wing that might be employed by butterflies during flight is performed. In this numerical flow visualization, he time-dependent Navier-Stokes equations are solved for two wing motion types; 'fling followed by clap and pause' and 'clap followed by fling and pause'. The result is observed regarding the main flow features such as the sequential development of the two families of separation vortex pairs and their movement. For the fling followed by clap and pause motion, a strong separation vortex pair of counter-clockwise develops in the opening between the wings in the fling phase and they then move out from the opening in the following clap phase. For the clap followed by fling and pause motion, the separation vortex pair developed in the outside space in the clap phase move into the opening in the following fling phase. The separation vortex pair in the opening developed in the fling phase of the clap followed by fling and pause motion is observed to be stronger than that in the opening developed in the fling phase of the fling followed by clap and pause motion.

Nowadays a lot of schools carry out open education and the school libraries have to seek the ways how they can participate efficiently in the instructional design process in the system of open education. For these purposes, a spatial relationship of school library and the process of cooperative program planning and teaching is investigated with a case study. Cooperative program planning and teaching is a school library service program which has to be developed as an instructional program related to classroom teaching. However the tendency is that teacher-librarians are not active to do it in the open education system.

The educational system of Korean elementary schools switches eventually from that of cramming to open study emphasizing student's autonomy and attaching importance to their individuality. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to establish renovational course for conventional classes to practise open education proper to Korean situations at a minimum of expense and time. And the consequence of this study can be summarized as follows : 1) To prepare for various learning activities, a multipurpose space that can be shared by three or four classes is required. 2) Partitions that have divided the existing spaces of unit study must be removed and substituted to a movable partition to make the class variable according to the form of study.

The size and location of spaces need to be changed for teaching & learning activities in open education. This study is aimed to investigate how school facilities should be rearranged when the open education is implemented in elementary school. Some considerations such as enlargement of classroom, establishment of open space, and provision of various self-learning spaces are proposed for the rearrangement. It is also recommended that (1) a space for research and conference for teachers, (2) a multi-learning space to be utilized by connecting general and special classrooms, and (3) an open space for exclusive use of one grade or two grades be established.

공학시스템의 설계 문제는 시스템 구성이 복잡하고, 구조적으로 열려있으며, 전기, 기계, 유압, 열등의 서로 다른 에너지 도메인 구성 요소를 포함한다. 최적의 설계를 위해서는 각 도메인에 대한 통합된 설계 방법과 자동적이고 구조적으로 열린 공간에 대한 효율적인 탐색방법이 요구된다. 본 논문은 도메인에 독립적이며 모델링과 해석에 장점을 가진 본드 그래프 (bond graph)와 대규모 공간 해의 탐색에 접합한 진화 알고리즘의 일종인 유전자 프로그래밍(Genetic Programming)을 결합하여 멀티 도메인 동적시스템에 대한 디자인 해를 자동적으로 생성해주는 설계 방법을 제시하고, 제안된 설계방법의 효용성을 입증하기 위해서 이를 아나로그 필터 설계에 문제에 적용하였다.

This paper is to propose a design possibility that incorporates participatory process and also to emphasize the participatory process applied to the planning of outdoor playground space open to the neighboring community. Community design based on the participation method can be understood as an attitude about a force for change in the creation and management of environments for people who are the major users of them. Planning for outdoor space is an integral part of school education and a vital component of child development. For the design of outdoor space of Samyang Elementary School it first needs to examine the current and emerging needs of students, teachers and parents as community residents through the participatory design method. A series of workshops and interviews are taken to identify dreams and ideal spaces of each group. An assessment of existing school spaces and design possibility of reprogrammed outdoor spaces are proposed to match the major demands of participants. Selected outdoor places are chosen and designed to accommodate options for various play settings and to make the school pleasant places where members of the neighborhood can gather for relaxation in restful surroundings.
