Heat and Mass Transfer Properties of Mm-Based Metal Hydride upon Co Content (Mm계 금속수소화물의 Co함량에 따른 열 및 물질전달특성)

  • The effect of the cobalt content on the thermodynamic and, heat and mass transfer properties of the $MmNi_{5-y}B_{y-z}C_z(y=0.5{\sim}1.5,\;z=0.5)$hydrogen storage alloys has been studied systematically. The P-C isotherms curves show that with increasing cobalt content in the alloys, the plateau pressure of the hydrogen absorption and desorption and enthalpy(${\Delta}H$) increases steeply and the plateau region becomes flat, while entropy(${\Delta}S$) decreases. Also at the constant cobalt content the hydrogen transfer rate decreases with the reaction temperature, while the initial reaction kinetics increases. But the initial reaction with hydrogen completes within 1min, although the reaction proceeds about 30minutes thereafter.

연소실 냉각성능 개선을 위한 경사슬롯 막냉각에서의 유동 및 열전달 특성

  • 추진기관의 연소실과 같이 큰 열부하를 받는 경우 막냉각은 연소실을 보호하기 위해서 사용되는 대표적인 냉각기법이다. 막냉각의 성능을 극대화하기 위해서는 냉각유체를 2차원 슬롯을 통해서 분사시키는 것이 가장 효율적이지만 여러 가지 이유 때문에 실제 적용에 있어서는 슬롯입구 부근에 작은 구멍을 만들어 이로부터 분사되는 유체를 통해서 냉각시키게 된다. 본 연구에서는 주어진 덕트에서 분사율, 분사방법, 슬롯의 형상에 따른 슬롯 출구에서의 유동장 및 온도장 측정과 함께 물질전달 방법을 이용하여 슬롯 립(slot lip) 내벽에서 자세한 국소 열/물질전달계수를 구하였다. 분사율 0.5와 1.0에 대해서 주유동과 같은 방향으로 분사시켜줄 경우와, 유동을 제한시켜 주고 이차유동의 방향을 각각 주유동과 같은 방향과 반대방향으로 분사시키는 방법에 대하여 실험하였으며, 슬롯 입구에 경사슬롯을 설치하여 냉각유체를 분사시키는 방법에 대해서 실험하였다.

Characteristic of Heat and Mass Transfer on Inner Ribbed Notched Fin Tube Absorber (내면가공 핀튜브 흡수기의 열 및 물질전달특성)

  • An experimental study of the absorption process of water vapor into lithium bromide solution was performed. For the purpose of development of high performance absorption chiller-heater utilizing Lithium Bromide solution as working fluid, the absorber is the most effective to improve the performance of an absorber because it requires the largest heat transfer area in an absorption chiller-heater system. This paper introduces bare tube and inner ribbed notched fin tube for the absorber of absorption chiller-heaters. Inner ribbed notched fin tube has about 10∼20% higher heat and mass transfer performance than bare tube conventionally used in absorbers and the it is expected to perform high heat and mass transfer. This paper will provide important information on the selection of absorber tubes in commercial absorption chill-heaters.

Effects of Double-diffusive Convection on the Mass Transport of Copper Ions in a Horizontal Porous Layer (수평 다공성유체층에서 이온의 물질전달에 대한 이중확산대류 효과)

  • In the present study, buoyant force and its stabilizing effects in an electrostatic field were examined systematically in order to reduce the effect of natural convection with thermal stratification in a horizontal fluid-saturated porous layer. The correlation of ionic mass transport induced by double-diffusive convection in a horizontal porous layer has been derived theoretically. And the theoretical model was examined by electrochemical experiments. The theoretical correlation for mass transport which is satisfying Forchheimer's flow equation and based on the micro-turbulence model is derived as a function of soltual Darcy-Rayleigh number, thermal Darcy-Rayleigh number and Lewis number. In the experiment, the mass transport of copper ions in $CuSO_4-H_2SO_4$ solution is measured by electrochemical technique. By assembling theoretical correlation and experimental results, the mass transport correlation induced by double-diffusive convection is proposed as $$Sh=\frac{0.03054(Rs_D-LeRa_D)^{1/2}}{1-3.8788(Rs_D-LeRa_D)^{-1/10}}$$ The present correlation looks flirty reasonable with comparing experimental results, and very promising for the applications of its prototype into various systems involving heat transfer as well as mass transfer, in order to control the effects of natural convection effectively.

  • The present study has been conducted to understand the heat and mass transfer characteristics of humid airflow in frosting conditions. A flat plate of aluminum was used for the simulation of flat surface part of the fin of the heat exchanger. The aluminum surface temperatures were measured and analyzed to clarify the heat and mass transfer characteristics under frosting conditions. Also, the pressure drops were measured to clarify the air-blocking effect of frost in the mini channel of the air-side hoot exchangers. A data reduction method was developed far the analysis of local characteristics of humid air under frosting conditions.

  • 인산형 연료전지내 열 및 물질전달 특성에 대하여 FDM과 시행착오법에 의하여 3차원 해석이 이루어졌다. Z병행류와 Z대향류를 대상으로 냉각공기 유입방향을 바꿔가며 전류밀도가 평균온도, 전압, 온도분포차, 전류밀도분포차에 미치는 영향에 대하여 고찰하였다. 본 연구의 결과로 Stack에서의 최적조건을 도출하여 연료전지의 성능향상에 도움이 되리라 기대된다.

  • In the present paper the effects of combined heat and mass transfer on the fin efficiency were calculated. Sector method was used for calculating the fin efficiency of the continuous fin. The parameter Lewis No. and C which describe the combined heat and mass transfer is derived by using the heat and mass transfer analogy and effects of Lewis No. and C on the fin efficiencies were calculated.

  • 직접 접촉식 교환장치(이하 직접 교환기라 함)에서 액체의 유통형태의 선택은 매우 다양하며 전달계수 역시 개별적인 상황이나 충전물의 종류에 따라서 달라지므로 일률적으로 제시되지 못 하고 있다. 많은 경우 실험을 통하여 열전달 또는 물질전달계수를 측정하게 되나 개수로, 자유 낙하액체막, 액체분류와 같이 이상화가 가능한 경우, 이러한 전달계수를 구하기 위하여 이론적 또는 반실험적인 해석을 수행하기도 한다. 수많은 관련 연구결과들은 층류유동에 관한 것과 난류유동의 경우로 구분되고(예상되듯이 대부분의 직접교환기의 유통영역은 난류쪽이다), 난류 유통의 해석은 다시 표면갱신이론(surface renewal model), 와류확산계수모델(eddy diffusivity model-macroscopic), 미분형와류모델(differential eddy diffusivity model)로 대별된다. 여기서는 수많은 교환기형태의 자료정리보다 상기와 같이 대별된 액체측 유동영역별로 전달현상해석의 방법을 간단히 정리하고자 한다.

  • 냉각탑, 밀폐식냉각탑, 증발식응축기는 증발식냉각기의 분류에 속한다. 열은 증발에 의해 제거되어, 중력에 따라 유하하는 수 film으로 부터 충전물, 또는 밀폐식냉각탑, 증발식응축기의 관군상을 흐르는 공기에 전달된다. 따라서 공기측에서의 열과 물질의 이동프로세스는 기본적으로는 동일하다. 각 형식에서의 차이는 냉각되는 유체측에서의 열저항의 형태가 다르다는 점이다. 이 무저항은 냉각탑에서는 아주 작으나 다른 두 경우에 있어서는 계산상 고려하지 않으면 안된다. 이 논문은 이들 세 형식에 대해 통일된 이론을 적용할 수 있다는 것을 보여주기 위한 것이다. 그러므로 열 및 물질이동저항의 계산을 위한 식에 대해 논의하고 있다. 또한 복잡성을 피하기 위해, Merkel의 근사식을 공기측의 열 및 물질이동계산에 이용하였다.

A Study on Improvement of Performance of Absorber in Absorption Heat Pump (흡수열펌프에서 흡수기의 성능 개선 연구)

  • The improvement of energy conservation is mandatory to decrease consumption of fossil fuels and to minimize negative impacts on the environment which originates from large cooling and heating demand. The absorption heat pump technology has a large potential for energy-saving in this respect. Absorption heat pump is a means to upgrade waste heat without the addition of extra thermal energy. The higher performance of absorber is of great importance for absorption heat pump cycle. In this study, in order to improve the performance of absorber, the absorber of tangential feed of a liquid phase with spiral tube has been investigated using methanol-glycerine as a working fluid. The spiral tube and tangential feeding generate the turbulence into the liquid flow while increasing the mass and heat transfer coefficients. The simultaneous heat and mass transfer were found to take place in a liquid turbulent film in the absorber with the spiral tube during the process of gas absorption. By calculating mass and heat transfer coefficients by measurement of the concentration and the temperature of each position in the absorber, the entrance was found to be more effective in enhancing mass and heat transfer.
