The Paved Track is applied to reduce maintenance cost of conventional line. The Paved Track could be used in all types of lines including earthwork, bridge, tunnel and turnout sections. In case of earthwork section, the construction joint is the most critical factor to track durability. The construction joint does not affect to the track structure directly, but the gap due to discontinuity of slabs may affect to the long-term serviceability. To evaluate this problem, the accelerated track test has been performed on the construction joint and the middle part to of the real scale Paved Track. The purpose of this test is that evaluate the vulnerability of construction joint section comparing the trends of settlement and earth pressure under repeated loads of construction joint with those of the middle slab part.
The resistive V dipole (RVD) is a V antenna with both arms loaded with the continuous Wu-King resistive profile. The RVD has many advantages for surface and subsurface probing, such as the ability to radiate a short pulse in a desired direction. The radiated pulse is simply related to the input pulse, e.g., derivative. In addition, it mostly eliminates the multiple reflections between the surface of the ground and the antenna because of its low radar cross section. The drawbacks of the RVD include the high input impedance and the difficulty in implementation. This paper presents ways to improve the accuracy and easiness of the implementation and to improve the low-frequency performance while maintaining the characteristics of the V antenna that are good for probing applications. The implemented antenna is used to form a bistatic radar to scan targets underground, and the result is imaged.
In this paper, we propose a new clustering combination based on numerical data driven for rule generation mechanism. In large and complicated space, a clustering method can obtain limited performance results. To overcome the single clustering method problem, hybrid combined methods can solve problem to divided simple cluster estimation. Fundamental structure of the proposed method is combined by mountain clustering and modified Chen clustering to extract detail cluster information in complicated data distribution of non-parametric space. It has automatic rule generation ability with advanced density based operation when intelligent systems including neural networks and fuzzy inference systems can be generated by clustering results. Also, results of the mechanism will be served to information of decision support system to infer the useful knowledge. It can extend to healthcare and medical decision support system to help experts or specialists. We show and explain the usefulness of the proposed method using simulation and results.
Rock mass classification systems such as RMR and Q system have been widely served as a simple empirical approach for the design of various rock mass structures in the stage of site survey as well as under the construction. For the RQD determination, the boring is partially carried out and what is more, the survey boring is not normally carried out under construction. Therefore RQD is frequently determined by empirical method or indirect method. Since it is difficult to determine the discontinuity characteristics such as RQD, spacing, persistence, filling and so on, it is essential to develop suitable and simple systems without drilled core and a cert 없 n number of representative parameters. One of the primary objectives of the classification systems for a practicing engineer has been to make it simple to use as a preliminary design tool for the structures in rock mass. In the present study, the modifications for both the RMR and GSI system are suggested by authors to introduce new classification system as well as to improve the scope of some of the existing classification systems for a practicing engineer.
Zooplankton samples of upper 50m layer in May, 1985 and of various depth intervals depending on thermal structure in October, 1985 were analyzed. Standing stock represents mean of 538inds/㎥ in spring and 267 inds/㎥ and 508inds/㎥ of whole column mean and surface layer in fall, respectively. A total of 55 and 104taxa is identified in each season and accumulated data list at least 123 species inhabiting in the study area. Copepods dominate in the zooplankton community, followed by protozoans and appendicularians in both seasons. In surface layer, distribution of subtropical species and standing stock seems to illuminate the effects of the Tsushima Current and the North Korean Cold Watermass in cold season, whereas only standing stock shows discernable variation in warm season. Concerning whole water column, depth of permanent thermocline bottom, at about 120m in fall 1985, plays significant role as a barrier to the distribution of mesopelagic cold water species. Serial sampling in October, 1985 does not reveal any perceivable diel vertical migration, which is considered to confirm the earlier suggest that owing to the lack of true abyssal species zooplankton biomass of deeper gayer is very poor, so that diel vertical migration of the East Sea is weak.
The present study proposed a method that dissolves ultrasonographic images into multiple resolutions using wavelet conversion and a boundary detection filter and improves the quality of ultrasonographic images through boundary detection filtering. In order to reduce noises and strengthen edges, the proposed method adjusted selectivity coefficient by area step by step from a low resolution image obtained from wavelet converted images to a high resolution image and performed edge filtering in consideration of direction. Through this method, we generated a selective low pass filtering effect in areas except edges by decreasing the wavelet coefficient for pixels in spot areas, improved continuity by smoothing edges in the tangential direction, and enhanced contrast by thinning in the normal direction. Through an experiment, we compared the filtering method using a non linear anisotropic expansion model and the filtering method using wavelet contraction structure in single resolution.
There have been few reports on the constituents and biological activity of stem bark of $Acer$$tegmentosum$, and no phytochemical and biological studies have been reported for stem wood of $A.$$tegmentosum$. Two flavan 3-ols (1 and 2), three phenolic acid/alcohols (3~5), and two coumarins (6 and 7) were isolated from the stem wood of $A.$$tegmentosum$ by repeated column chromatography. The structure of isolated compounds were identified as (+)-catechin (1), (-)-epicatechin (2), $p$-hydroxybenzaldehyde (3), syringic alcohol (4), $p$-tyrosol (5), scopoletin (6), and cleomiscosin A (7) on the basis of spectroscopic evidences such as $^1H$-NMR, $^{13}C$-NMR, 2D-NMR and MS spectrum. $p$-Hydroxybenzaldehyde (3), syringic alcohol (4), scopoletin (6), and cleomiscosin A (7) have not been reported from this plant so far. (+)-Catechin (1) and (-)-epicatechin (2) showed the higher 1, 1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging activity than butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA) used as a positive control.

This paper proposes a novel procedure that uses a combination of overlapped basic convex shapes to decompose 2D silhouette image. A basic convex shape is used here as a structuring element to give a meaningful interpretation to 2D images. Poisson equation is utilized to obtain the basic shapes for either the whole image or a partial region or segment of an image. The reconstruction procedure is used to combine the basic convex shapes to generate the original shape. The decomposition process involves a merging stage, filtering stage and finalized by compromising stage. The merging procedure is based on solving Poisson's equation for two regions satisfying the same symmetrical conditions which leads to finding equivalencies between basic shapes that need to be merged. We implemented and tested our novel algorithm using 2D silhouette images. The test results showed that the proposed algorithm lead to an efficient shape decomposition procedure that transforms any shape into a simpler basic convex shapes.

In this paper, we design the two-dimensional Discrete Wavelet Transform (2D DWT) filter that is widely used in various applications such as image compression because it has no blocking effects and relatively high compression rate. The filter that we used here is two-channel four-taps QMF(Quadrature Mirror Filter) Lattice filter with PR (Perfect Reconstruction) property. The proposed DWT architecture, with two consecutive inputs shows an efficient performance with a minimum of such hardware resources as multipliers, adders, and registers due to a simple scheduling. The proposed architecture was verified by the RTL simulation, and utilizes the hardware 100%. Our architecture shows a relatively high performance with a minimum hardware when compared with other approaches. An efficient memory mapping and address generation techniques are introduced and the fixed-point arithmetic analysis for minimizing the PSNR degradation due to quantization is discussed.

This paper presents a continuous-time equalizer adopting a clock loss tracking technique for digital display interface. This technique uses bottom hold circuit to detect the incoming clock loss. The generated loss signal is directly fed to equalizer filters, building adaptive feed-forward loops which contribute the stability of the system. The design was done in $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS technology. Experimental results summarize that eye-width of minimum 0.7UI is achieved until -33dB channel loss at 1.65Gbps. The average power consumption of the equalizer is a maximum 10mW, a very low value in comparison to those of previous researches, and the effective area is $0.127mm^2$.
