가솔린 직접분사식 고압 슬릿 노즐 분사기의 팬형 분무 특성 고찰 (Pan-shaped Spray Characteristics of GDI High Pressure Slit Nozzle Injector)

  • A new stratified charge combustion system has been introduced and developed for GDI engines. Before this new GDI system, the stratified mixture was formed by a high pressure swirl injector. But, the special feature of new system is employed of a thin fan-shaped fuel spray formed by a slit type nozzle. Also, this system has been adopted a shell-shaped piston cavity. We made high pressure gasoline injection system and investigated the fan-shaped spray characteristics such as spray tip penetration, spray angle, SMD and velocities of droplets using PDPA(Phase Doppler Particle Analyzer) system and spray visualization system to obtain the concept of the new design and the fundamental data for the next generation GDI system. The experiment was performed at the injection pressures of 5 and 9MPa under the atmospheric condition.

  • The effects of the internal flow in a diesel injection nozzle on the atomization of the spray has been investigated experimentally. Flow visualization was made using a transparent acrylic model nozzle. And also, measurement of the sac chamber pressure was made for clartfying the effect of pressure fluctuation in the sac chamber on the wpray behaviors. The geometry of the model nozzle was scaled up 10 times of the actual nozzle and the injection pressure for the model nozzle was adjusted so as to achieve a Reynolds number at the discharge hole which was the same as the actual nozzle. Polystyrene tracers, a laser sheet light and a still/high speed video camera were used to visualize the flow pattern in the sac chamber. When the needle lift was small, the high turbulence in the sac chamber generated by the high velocity seat flow made the spread angle of the spray large. Cavitation which arose in the sky chamber induced the pressure fluctuation and then affects the spread angle of the spray.

  • Multi-dimensional combustion analysis and experiment has been carried out to investigate the effects of the injector nozzle hole diameter and number on the NOx formation and fuel consumption in HYUNDAI HiMSEN engine. The behavior of spray and combustion phenomena in diesel engine was examined by FIRE code. Wave breakup and Zeldovich models were adopted to describe the atomization characteristics and NOx formation. Wallfilm model suggested by Mundo, et al. and auto-ignition model suggested by Theobald and Cheng were adopted to investigate the spray-wall interaction characteristics and ignition delay. The information of spray angle and spray tip penetration length was extracted from fuel spray visualization experiment and the fuel injection rate profile was extracted from fuel injection system experiment as an input and verification data for the combustion analysis. Next, the nine different nozzle configurations were simulated to evaluate the effect of injector hole diameter and number on the NOx formation and fuel consumption.

  • The effects of the internal flow in a D.I. Diesel injection nozzle on the atomization of a spray were analyzed experimentally. Flow visualization studies were made using a transparent acrylic model nozzle as a diesel nozzle . Water instead of disel fuel was used as the injection liquid. The geometry of the model nozzle was scaled up 10 times of the actual nozzle and the injection pressure for the model nozzle was adjusted so as to achieve a Reynolds number at the discharge hole that was the same as the actual nozzle. Experimental results show that when the needle lift was small, the high turbulence in the sac chamber generated by the high velocity seat flow made the spread angle of the spray plume large. Cavitation, which arose from the sac chamber, makes the spread angle of the spray plume large but the discharge coefficient small.

연료캠 형상에 따른 PLN 디젤 분사계의 분사특성에 관한 시뮬레이션 (Simulation on the Characteristics of PLN Diesel Injection System by Cam Profile)

  • In this study, in order to investigate the influence of cam profile on the injection rate, the characteristics of injection in PLN (pump - line - nozzle) diesel injection system were simulated. Six types of the profile of fuel cam were used for simulation. The maximum injection pressure and maximum injection rate of initial and end phase were analyzed to demonstrate the characteristics of injection. The mathematical model of the injection system and the computation results were verified by experimental results. Simulation results showed that the maximum injection pressure, maximum injection rate, injection quantity and pressure drop in the end phase were proportional to the velocity of fuel cam during the effective stroke.

슬링거 연소기의 연소특성 (Combustion Characteristics of the Slinger Combustor)

  • 슬링거 연소기의 연소특성을 파악하기 위한 연구를 수행하였다. 연료는 고속으로 회전하는 축의 연료노즐을 통하여 연소기내로 분사된다. 회전분무시스템의 분무특성을 파악하기 위하여 PDPA를 이용하여 연료노즐의 회전속도 변화에 따른 분무입자의 크기를 측정하였다. 연구결과 SMD는 회전수가 5,000RPM일 때 약 70$\mu\textrm{m}$ , 10,000RPM일 때 60$\mu\textrm{m}$ , 20,000RPM일 때 40$\mu\textrm{m}$ 이었으며 SMD의 크기가 연료 노즐의 회전수가 증가할수록 작아짐을 알 수 있었다. 연소기 시험리그를 제작하여 한국항공우주연구원의 연소시험설비에서 점화 및 연소시험을 수행하였다. 시험결과 점화성능 및 연소효율은 연료노즐 회전수에 따라 증가하는 경향을 나타내고 있었으며, 연소기출구온도는 매우 균일한 온도분포를 나타내었다.

  • 본 논문에서는 와류분사기를 가진 액체로켓엔진용 축소형 연소기의 설계/제작/시험에 대해 기술하였다. 와류분사기는 내부에 액체산소 외부에 케로신을 공급하여 노즐 외부에서 혼합하는 구조를 가지고 있다. 축소형 연소기는 분사기 헤드, 삭마 냉각방식의 내열재 연소실 그리고 물냉각 노즐로 구성되어 있다. 분사기 헤드는 18 개의 주 분사기, 하나의 중앙 분사기, 연료 메니폴드, 산화제 메니폴드 그리고 추진제 분배기 등으로 구성되어 있다. 축소형 연소기 제작 후 수류시험 및 점화시험을 거쳐 설계점 및 탈설계점에서의 연소시험을 성공적으로 수행하였다. 연소시험결과 분사기 차압은 수류시험시의 값과 비슷하였고 연소효율은 목표치보다 높게 나왔으며, 정상연소시 동압의 진폭은 규격조건을 만족하였고 고주파 연소 불안정은 발생하지 않았다.

  • Recently, many researches for the improvement of DI diesel engines have been performed to reduce the fuel consumption and exhaust emissions. Among the various factors effect on combustion and emission in Dl diesel engines, one of the most important factors is the characteristics of the fuel spray. Accordingly, the investigation on the characteristics of spray is needed to analyze the diesel combustion exactly, In this study, the measurement technique fur injection rate using the Zeuch method was developed. In addition, the effects of nozzle hole number on the spray and flame were investigated by visualization experiment.

  • 본 논문에서는 슬릿형 분사노즐의 출구 종횡비에 따라 3차원 화학반응 유동장을 수치적 계산을 통하여 그 특성을 조사하고 연소/혼합 촉진 방법을 고찰하였다. 내부유입유동과 슬릿측면 와동들 둘 다 혼합관점에서 고려되어야 한다는 것을 보여 주었다. 연소효율은 종횡비1.0을 기준으로 작은 경우가 낮고 압력손실 역시 종횡비가 작은 경우가 적다. 모든 결과들은 유동방향으로 긴 슬릿이 연소와 압력손실에 대해 바람직함을 나타내고 있다.
