Comparative Analysis of Informatics Education Assessment Tools in Overseas High School (해외 고등학교 정보 교육 검사도구의 비교 분석)

  • Countries around the world are strengthening informatics education to cope with the development of technology that leads to rapid social change. The last step in the capacity to foster through formal education is high school education. The purpose of this study is to examine the competence and level of informatics curriculum for high school students who aim to enter university in terms of testing tools. In order to carry out the research, we analyzed informatics education related test tools for high school students such as Japan, Germany, and USA. The results of the analysis are as follows: First, both the essay type and the short answer type question are included in the test tool as well as the multiple choice question type. Second, we use the real world model as an item and ask whether we can use computing power for practical problem solving ability. Third, the items directly related to the university education are reflected in the items. This study suggests that it has helped to elucidate the features and discussions of the test tool and establish the development direction of the test tool for informatics education.

Presenting the Development Direction Through the Analysis of Tool used to Measure Computational Thinking (컴퓨팅사고력 측정에 사용되고 있는 도구 분석을 통한 새로운 검사도구 개발방향 제시)

  • In order to ensure that the 2015 revised curriculum is successfully settled at the field of school, there are 68 national SW schools operated by 2015 and 2016 at national level, and an inspection tool was developed to measure the effectiveness of SW education. The purpose of this study is to present the direction of the computing thinking inspection tool which can verify the effectiveness of the curriculum from 2018 through the analysis of the previously developed computing thinking inspection tool. As a result of the analysis, the validity of the ability factors to measure the problem solving process based on computing thinking was not enough. In the analysis of the item characteristics, the degree of discrimination was good, but difficulty was not enough to accurately measure the competence of students because of the high percentage of easy questions. Based on the results, this study suggested the development of the items considering the problem solving process based on the computing thinking, the application of the students' empirical knowledge, and the constitution that can confirm the flow of the thinking power with materials in the real life.

A Study on Free-form Design Shape Creation through Geometric Transformation of Digital Design Tool (디지털디자인도구의 Geometry 변형을 통한 비정형 디자인 형태 생성 방법에 관한 연구)

  • Both the formal type of architecture and free-form architecture have basic factors and methods for basic expression. Because the use of digital design tools for creation of free-form design mostly depends on the character and ability of designer, this study aims to propose establishment of free-form design creation method as a prototype, including the method to create free-form design, through setting up rules that can be used in common. This study is carried out on the basis of the application of digital design tools used for creation of conceptual free-form styles at the phase of conceptualization and development, which is different from the general theory of free-from design. The free-from style in the modern architecture has begun with the changes in digital design tools and design concepts. In the case study based on the free-form designs in precedent studies, the morphological characteristics have been analyzed and interpreted by using the language of digital design tools, so that this study will suggest the techniques to realize the free-form style on the basis of geometric transformation by using the digital design tools, as well.

Design and Implementation of a CASE Tool with Compound Document Support (복합 문서 지원 기능을 갖는 CASE 도구의 설계 및 구현)

  • Since the advent of object-oriented(OO) technology, research and development projects have fumed out that OO technology could importantly contribute in productivity and reusability improvement. There are various research areas related to OO technology And two of major research fields in this areas are concerned in issues for CASE tools and component-based technologies. This paper discusses a trial of applying component-based technology to a CASE tool. This paper proposes the design and implementation issues obtained while we have incrementally developed OODesigner, an OO CASE tool, with compound document support functionality based on COM/OLE technology. As OODesigner with OLE container/server functionality has interoperability with other application programs of Windows system, it can provide more powerful documentation environment than other CASE tools. OODesigner can be used not only to design UML diagrams. but also enables us to make more expressive documentation cooperatively with various kinds of OLE-enabled software like Recorder and Excel. Therefore powerful and consistent documentation activity can be achieved with the tool.

  • 본 논문은 인간의 마음을 움직이는 감각자극과 그것을 생성해 내는 시스템 구현에 관한 연구이다. 마음을 움직이거나, 어떤 행동을 유발하는 정신작용의 과정에 관여하는 요소들을 밝히고, 그 구조와 효과 등을 알아내는 일이 중요하며, 이러한 연구의 성과물들은 정신작용에 관여하는 요소들을 조작, 변수처리 하여 의도적인 정신작용 감각자극을 만들어 낼 수 있는 시스템 구현을 가능하게 할 수 있다. 인간은 감각자극으로 인지된 정보를 자신의 정신적인 필터를 통해 개념화하게 되는데, 이 시스템은 의식에 직접 관여하거나, 우회하는 감각자극에 대한 것들을 제공 할 수 있도록 인간의 개념화의 과정을 의식하여 시스템의 구조를 구현 했다. 인간의 기억데이터와 비슷하다 할 수 있는 구조적 위치의 소스데이터가 있다. 그리고 이것을 현실의 시공간에서 얻어지는 미적 행위와 자극의 반복을 통해 얻어진 결과로 만들어 내거나, 이러한 미적 결과물을 유저는 커뮤니케이션의 도구로 사용할 수 있다. 이와 같은 것의 시작으로, 우리의 삶 깊숙이 침투해 있는 미디어의 감각자극들을 수동적으로 수용하는 것이 아니라 능동적으로 생산해 내는 것이다. 이런 행위는 자신을 가꾸고 만드는 자기최면적인 도구나, 대상을 갖는 커뮤니케이션의 도구를 만들어내는 연구가 될 수 있다. 자신이 필요로 하는 정신적 바탕을 스스로 만들어가는 도구로써, 자신의 메시지를 대상에게 감동을 통해 전달하는 도구로써, 그 역할을 운운하기에는 시기상조인 감이 있다. 하지만 이 시스템은 이러한 비전을 가지고 개발과 발전을 거듭해 인공감성지능 감각자극 생성과 커뮤니케이션 시스템으로 성장 할 것이다.

Teachers' Perceptions on Process-Focused Mathematics Assessment Using Manipulatives and Technological Devices (교구 및 공학도구를 활용한 수학적 과정중심 평가에 관한 교사들의 인식)

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate teachers' perceptions on process-focused mathematics assessment using manipulatives and technological devices and to propose the direction of the process-focused mathematics assessment. This study was conducted by the survey method with a total of 332 elementary and secondary school mathematics teachers working in Seoul or Gyeonggi areas who had experienced in using manipulatives and technological devices. According to the results, the use of manipulatives and technological devices in the process-focused mathematics assessment will facilitate the use of various alternative assessment methods such as research-report, project, and discussion for the process-focused mathematics assessment. Those alternative assessment methods enable teachers to diagnose students' learning in more accurate and holistic views and contribute to improving teachers' teaching practices focused on the mathematical process.

  • In recent years, a life phenomenon using a workflow management tool in bioinformatics has been actively researched. Workflow management tool is the base which enables researchers to collaborate through the re-use and sharing of service, and a variety of workflow management tools including MyGrid project's Taverna, Kepler and BioWMS have been developed and used as the open source. This workflow management tool can model and automate different services in spatially-distant area in one working space based on the web service technology. Many tools and databases used in the bioinformatics are provided in the web services form and are used in the workflow management tool. In such the situation, the web services development and stable service offering for a sequence similarity search which is basically used in the bioinformatics can be essential in the bioinformatics field. In this paper, the similarity retrieval speed of biology sequence data was improved based on a Linux cluster, and the sequence similarity retrieval could be done for a short time by linking with the workflow management tool through developing it in the web services.

Developmental Study of an Instrument for STEAM Education Key Competencies (STEAM 교육의 핵심역량 조사도구 개발)

  • This study developed an instrument for measuring STEAM education effectiveness focused on key competencies of STEAM. This study performed literature reviews on the prior studies associated with the STEAM education and completed a pilot instrument through reflective reviews by external experts. A pilot study was administered to a total of 408 students and finalized by statistical analyses such as reliability check and exploratory factor analysis. The factors of the final instrument were identified as convergence (seven items), creativity (eleven items), challenge (five items), and care (nine items). The Cronbach' ${\alpha}$ for each construct ranged from .849 to .929 turned out to be reliable. This instrument can be utilized for measuring the effectiveness of the STEAM education on students' key competencies.

Development of an Instrument Measuring Elementary Pre-service Teachers' Beliefs on Teaching and Learning Mathematics (초등 예비교사의 수학 교수·학습에 대한 신념 측정을 위한 도구 개발)

  • It is critical to examine changes in teachers' beliefs on how to teach and learn mathematics through teacher education programs. This study aims to develop an instrument measuring elementary pre-service teachers' beliefs on student- and teacher-centered instruction. After developing questionnaires with mathematics education experts, the structural validity of the instrument was evaluated by collecting and analyzing data from 166 pre-service teachers. Parallel analysis and exploratory factor analysis were applied sequentially to collect validity and reliability evidence. The results showed that this instrument can be used to examine changes in pre-service teachers' two different types of belief: student- and teacher-centered instruction. We also suggested how to interpret scores appropriately.

Determining Intervention Timing for People with Intellectual Disabilities during Virtual Reality-based Barista Training

  • This paper proposes a method to derive the time points for helpful intervention based on conclusions drawn from a previous study which collected data during barista training performed by students with developmental disabilities. To identify this intervention time, this study utilized distance information between the hand of a student and each barista tool in a virtual reality space. If the cumulative distance from a student's hand to the key barista tool is relatively longer than the cumulative distance to other barista tools, it is highly likely that the student is not using the key barista tool, which must be used to successfully complete the given task. In other words, the distance information signals the task is not being properly performed and represents the intervention time to help the student. As a result of verifying a hypothesis through statistical analysis, this study found that the relationship between the success or failure of a student's training and the cumulative distance between the student's right hand and the key barista tool was statistically significant, but not for the left hand.
