This study started from an interest in the unique history and literature of Okinawa and Jeju Islands. The Battle of Okinawa at a late stage of the Asia-Pacific theatre of World War II, and the indiscriminate violence in the 4.3 Jeju Massacre directly show the shared tragedy of the two islands; furthermore, they are are both located on the frontier of a nation's authority, and thus are symbolic cases. This thesis analyzes Oshiro Tatsuhiro's Island of the Gods and Hyun, Ki Young's Sooni's Uncle, both directly deal with the tragedy of two different but analogous incidents, and question the difference in memory struggle and definitions. Thus, though both novels show a similarity in focusing on and exposing the forbidden memory of mass suicide and massacre, the methods of suggesting the course of memory struggle are different. For example, in contrast to Hyun who took a different approach from the fury, accusations, and violence of South Korea to espoused forgiveness and reconciliation, Oshiro showed the changes in the form of responding to the mainland Japan.

This study examined the influence and meaning of SNS as the hot topic of our time from the archival perspective and also studied the 'SNS records management'. The many users mean a high accessibility and utilization of SNS, which increase the influence and value of SNS as a record. Politically, SNS is a tool that strengthens the communication among the voters, politicians and the public while economically, it is a window to accept the complaints of the customers and a marketing tool. In addition, the voices of social minorities are also recorded unlike in the traditional media, which makes the SNS record a method to gain the social variety and diversity. SNS is a place of formation of collective memory and collective memory itself. Furthermore, it can play the role of public sphere. It also is a place for generation of 'big data' in an archival sense. In addition, this study has classified the SNS records management into primary and secondary management that include record management entities, subjects, periods, methods, and causes. This study analyzed the history, status, and the meaning of SNS to assess the values and meanings as the preliminary study for the future SNS record management studies.

This study examines artists' acts of resistance in the turbulent social climate of the 1960s and beyond, and considers the meaning of these documents in a contemporary context. It focuses on the Art Workers' Coalition, organised in 1969 by artists, writers, filmmakers and critics. Art Workers' Coalition demanded basic rights for artists in the art world and challenged war, discrimination, and injustice in society at large. Not only did they actively intervene in the structural problems of society through collective actions, protests, and statements, as seen in other acts of resistance, but they also expanded their reach through the medium of art. Studies of the Art Workers' Coalition, which can be considered as activist art of the late 1960s, have mainly chronicled their actions in the context of art history, without paying particular attention to the nature and value of the documentation produced in the process of resistance. However, the archives of Art Workers' Coalition have an informational and evidential value, which is a key value of archives, as they provide information not only about the activities of the organisation, but also about the activities of the individuals who comprised the unions, their intricate connections, and the social climate. In addition to the basic function of proving the activities of a group of artists, the archives of Art Workers' Coalition are also significant as a medium for providing information on people and events that have been marginalised in mainstream studies of artworks and artists, and for incorporating them into historical memory. Therefore, this study aims to identify the current status of Art Workers' Coalition-related archives as a medium to prove the activities of artists of the time, and to propose a different way of reading history through the contextual information of archives.

On the musical stage in 2019, there were many works depicting the Japanese colonial period. This is due to 2019 the timeliness of the March 1st Movement and the centennial of the establishment of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea. The way of remembering and commemorating historical facts reflects the power relationship between memory subjects and the time, namely the politics of memory. Until now, stage dramas dealing with the era of Japanese rule have focused on the commemoration of modern national and national defense, including feelings of misfortune and respect for patriots. This study analyzed the metaphor of the memorials emphasized to the audience in the commemorative musicals Shingheung Military School, Ku: Songs of the Goblin, and Watch which were performed in 2019, and looked at how to adjust memories and memorials. The above works highlight the narratives of ordinary people as well as those recorded against the backdrop of the Manchurian Independence Movement and Hongkou Park, expanding the object of the commemoration. Through this, active armed resistance efforts, self-reflection and reflection were highlighted. The case of Shingheung Military School revealed the earnestness of ordinary people who led the independence movement through the movement of central figures. Ku: Songs of the Goblin revises memories by reproducing forgotten objects and apologizing through time slip. Watch has strengthened the spectacles of facilities through documentary techniques such as photography, news reels, and newspaper articles, but it also reveals limitations limited to records. In the 3.1 Movement and the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea, devices that actively reveal that the "people's movement" is connected to the present. To this end, the official records reflected the newly produced values and memories and devoted themselves to the daily lives and emotions of the crowd. In addition, both empirical consideration and calligraphy were utilized to increase reliability. These attempts are meaningful in that they have achieved the achievement of forming contemporary empathy.

A city is the space which has a various historical experiment and memories. From these social and cultural environment, regional competitions through the introduction and settlement of a local self-government have been important in city marketing. For city development, a serial activation policies are come and in this process the native history and cultures have recognized as the core tool of cities. For possession of city competition, we have developed the cities' tangible and/or intangible cultural properties and make full use of a attractive asset. The city identity is established and the opportunity of a special space is made. This city identity has been dependent on spending time. We suggest the strategy for the historical and cultural city image through the historical element and the development of program for the promotion of publicity activities. The preservation and application of the modern architectures as the cultural and historical element promote the city image and build the position of city identity. We suggest the city marketing application strategy for the implication on the sustainable reproductive city.

The Han river flowing the southern boundary of Hangyang city wall was known for scenic remote villa spot. This research is about a study on the historical and cultural landscape value of Apgujung built on hills of the Han river by Han Myeong Hoe in the mid-15th century. The results are as follows. First, the Han river has been a cultural poetical place. Second, the pavilion of west river was built as thatched roof at 1454-1456, while that of east river was erected as grand villa at 1469-1473. Third, there are characteristics of periodical landscape and origin was included on historical and cultural landscape, therefore, Apgujuing-dong has been recognized with the story. Han river where Apgujung was built has beautiful water landscape in spite of the landscape of modem downtown. Fourth, there are placeness and Han river of main landscape text streams nearby Apgujung site. Historical and cultural landscape of Apgujung should be changed, but, the landscape value could be progressed with the application as cultural contents while the Han river flows. It could be cultivated on the application of various culture contents and story of Apgujung when the historical landscape of water system be restored in Han river.

The aims of the study were to review the transcriptions of the famous cuneiform tablet 'Plimpton 322' and interpret the meanings of the numbers. Since the tablet was found, many scholars tried to interpretate the relation among numbers. Neugebauer & Sacks, Buck, and Robson's finding are reviewed. This tablet must be the most well known and taken as an important role to complete a proof of the Pytagoras' theorem before the development of Greek Mathematics.

2차 세계대전 당시 독일에 의한 유대인 학살은 인류 역사상 가장 참혹한 만행으로 알려져 있다. 이같은 비극적 과거를 되풀이 하지 않기 위해 세계 곳곳에 이와 관련된 박물관들이 건립되어 희생자를 추모하고, 잊지 않게 하고 있다. 대표적인 곳이 유대인의 본거지인 이스라엘의 예루살렘, 독일의 심장부인 베를린, 그리고 세계 정치의 중심인 미국 워싱턴 DC에 있는 홀로코스트 뮤지엄들이다. 이 발표에서는 각각의 박물관들의 입지가 갖는 메시지와 전시콘텐츠들이 갖는 특성들을 분석해 보고자 한다. 이를 통해 과거사에 대한 기억과 반성이라는 역사교육에 있어서 중요한 사안 해결방안의 일단을 찾아보고자 한다.을 통해 평화와 화해를 이루고자 하는 세계인들의 노력에 대해 이해를 하고자 한다.

Recently, the value and the status of the digital archives that are built individually in the crossroads of oblivion and memory are due to big data has attracted attention globally is confusing. Video data that contains the cultural memory of the digital archive, such as culture, art, life, society, and social conditions of the time, it is a cultural heritage of national common expressed. Also, it remains a trace of history from the various media just like magazines, books, painting, photography, and film. Digital archive system is one of the best research results of media convergence and it has also a good opportunity to take full advantage of the new opportunities and cultural assets. The collection of infinite information of big data in perspective transient that exist at the same time compatibility of big data, it is trying to dismantle the cultural memory of us. It was asserted that must meet the criteria which can correspond to via the new digital era, will be applied to preserve the traditional media. The current image archive is necessary to accommodate proper two different directions.
